Toyota Tacoma - Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme Ownership Impressions (RRW5 Wheels)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Toyota Tacoma greatly benefits from some better rubber and cooler wheels. However, going to a larger diameter tire does have some drawbacks.

First of all, love the long bed. This truck is such a practical _and_ capable configuration. The wheel and tire combo looks good. I always see these wheels on RAV4s in the “soft roader” crowd. I don’t think I’ve seen RRW on anything but Toyotas.

Great review man. I just bought a set of these for my 2003 F350 Diesel, which are replacing the worn and dry rotting BFG KO2's. I'm hopeful for a smoother ride as the KO's you can really feel the aggressive knobbies. KO's are pretty noisy too, but not much of an issue with an early diesel anyways. Thanks for posting this.

Any updates on how you like? I’ve had 2-3 sets of the Dynapro ATM and my new to me raptor has some bfg muds that are toast! I like the Dynapro. Hard to find reviews of off-roading, mud, snow, etc.

How is the siping holding up? I’ve heard at least on the regular at2’s that it wears out quickly and the sipes aren’t full depth.

Note to interviewer, STOP with the leading questions (regardless if its your father). Let the interviewee answer the question, then you add your knowledge to amend, agree or disagree altogether with their reply/answer. This applies to any situation. Live and learn.

i have ran 2 sets of these. they use to be a great value tire. now? eh....mmm. less so. overall it's a great tire but does have one issue. snow / ice traction falls off fairly noticeably after 15-20k miles. tires are good for about 40-50k and the LT version even longer. they ride more harshly than the XL P sizes but could be useful if someone does a lot of hauling. they are a quieter tire and do not get louder and louder as they age like others, cough, open country. dry road feedback and handling are also really good. the only reason i went wildpeak at3w this time is the deal, since the at4w is being launched some stores are wheeling and dealing on the at3w. had i been able to get the dynapro at rock bottom pricing again i would have had no problem buying a 3rd set. at current pricing i would consider the cooper 4s for a road going quiet AT with good snow/ice or the at3w / at4w if you want something more aggresive and the duratrac if you aren't price sensitive and like aggressive AT. the one i want to try that i haven't is that maxxis razr AT

If I remember correctly, yes, but I can't remember if they're directional.

Out of the AT tyres these lean on the more on-road performance oriented category (they come as factory fit on some F150), but if you're mostly doing onroad no point in getting an AT tyre, an all season might be better performance economy and noise
