    It’s amazing trucks got lighter over the years but the MPG stayed the same. You would think by now you could get 30 mpg pulling a trailer

    Admirable time and effort on this! Results were about what I'd expect. I hate that car companies are seemingly using increasingly larger wheels and shorter sidewalls in the name of aesthetics. Function over form for me too.

    I'd need to hear something "natural" like non-electronica to evaluate sound. Voices, piano, violin -- not that loud "hold" music that I cannot imagine listening to longer than 15 seconds before hanging up and trying again later. I know it is a matter of taste, but that was a narrow sampling of what people listen to. The car does seem like something practical.

    Put it in offroad + mode and it really unlocks that engine. It also makes the mpg a single digit number, but the driver might be to blame partially

  • @DaytonasGarden

    I was really wondering about the mpg. One of the few differences between the hatch and sedan is back seats grill color and final gear. I'm loving mine but already want the awd turbo premium sedan. Every review is the hatch and everyone's complaint was back seat and ok fuel economy. But it literally that much better on the highway too. Mazda should shift focus.

    As someone who has had 5 manual sports cars and does not at all mind driving a manual in traffic either, I admit that automatics are nice to have in sports cars. The low weight and handling are still there, which is entirely why we get cheap and light weight sports cars. But removing the ability to shift doesn't take a lot out of the fun as people think. Depending on the automatic transmission used, you can still drift, you can still do burnouts, and you can still be very competitive on a track. The main issue is only for track use. Most automatics are geared for economy and that's with the twins use. I think these deserved a DCT instead. But that would bring the cost higher and likely mess with the whole point of a light weight and cheap sports car. As for the engine, i love the size, its just right for a budget sports car at this weight. But a boxer engine isnt great in a cheap sports car. An inline makes more sense. Its generally more reliable and in most cases its so much easier to work on solo. To anyone who says that it raises the center of gravity, most modern inlines are all alluminum with light weight plastic intakes. They are so light all-around that the difference is not noticable on or off the track. It was a big deal only back when engines were still made of cast iron.

    Not saying its a teribble vehicle. Its actually a cool concept that would be more than enough for most people who want a truck for the occasional thing. But it isnt a truck and for some reason KZreadrs calling it one is bothering me. Its a car with a truck bed. No different than an el camino.

    @@DailyMotor "a wheeled vehicle for moving heavy articles" "a small heavy rectangular frame supported on four wheels for moving heavy objects'" Doesnt seem to fit either of those to me. Even in the website you linked me, it doesnt even remotely fit the two most important aspects of a truck. It isnt a body on frame vehicle and it isnt for hauling heavy loads. Its a unibody car with a bed you can throw some light stuff in and maybe you can tow a jet ski or something. But again, its. not a truck

  • @DailyMotor
    @DailyMotor2 күн бұрын

    @@BnMProductions11 It has a max payload of 1500 lbs! That's only a few hundred pounds off your average body-on-frame Ranger. I get that it's not a traditional pickup truck formula, but for many people, it can fill the role.

  • @BnMProductions11
    @BnMProductions112 күн бұрын

    @@DailyMotor As I said, I don't disagree. I actually think it's a good option because I don't think we need this many massive pickups on the road. A small, fuel efficient vehicle that can move things every once in a while is exactly what most people need. For me, I need an actual truck because I have a heavy quad and I pull a heavy trailer and haul alot. And that payload is actually surprising. I wouldn't trust it having nearly the same payload as an F150 so I feel real world numbers would be less impressive. And it's towing is anemic

    My first bike is a 300l rally. So far I've put 440 miles on it, after owning it for 3 weeks. I'm 6'0", 200 lbs, and live in a rural area. Typically below 60 mph. First week I was absolutely terrified of how tall the bike was, and was stressing that I had bought the wrong bike. As of week 2, I am in love. I've got out of the break in period, seemingly both in the engine (printed break in is 300 miles), and the suspension. It seems the bike has kneeled to match my weight. When I picked it up, I could not flat foot either side. Now I can flat foot, and tippy toe on the other side. After stepping in a hole, I've come to love how light the bike is. I think if the bike had been that extra 30-40 lbs heavier I would have dropped the bike, instead of being able to keep it upright. I bought the rally with the notion that I was going to go offroad, and that opportunity came middle of week 2, after some heavy rainfall. After my lack of skill landed me at the bottom of a muddy hill, I was thankful for how low the 1st gear was. As well as how cheap a new mirror is. And the fact that the rally comes pre-equipped with bar end caps. My only complaint, that hr mentions in the video, is the wind noise from the windshield. A 40 minute commute (40-65 mph), kinda overloads my senses due to the wind noise. Its harder for me to focus on new rider thoughts, when my ears are being continuously assaulted by wind noise.

    I was really really close to buying one of these, but I ultimately ended up buying exactly what your pop has Charlie. Long bed red TRD off road Tacoma. Because the truck was my second car I didn’t need something as road refined, I already have a road trip car. The first time I scraped the bottom of the Tacoma getting logs for the season I finally felt like I made the right choice, I was still thinking I should have gotten the Ridgeline before then. If I was a one car kind of person, I would’ve ended up getting the Ridgeline and getting a longer log winch. The Ridgeline actually has a higher payload than my Tacoma as well which I always thought was funny.

    I hope this was a press bike. Manual says not to rev the engine above 6k during the 600 mile break in period. ECU logs over revs so hopefully an issue never comes up with that bikes motor. First thing BMW does on an warranty claim is copy the ECU logs and review them for stuff like that.
