Toyota Tacoma | CMC part 2/ Fender Trimming for 295s | (2017 Tacoma)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is the follow up of the CMC video. In this one I go over the process of trimming the lower fenders to gain some clearance for the 295s, for the most part I like the stock modified look of the Taco. Overall super easy did a little cutting and banging to gain the space needed. I also set the wheels side by side to show the differences between the 265 and the 295. The Geolandars are super beefy and were surprisingly quiet during the small amount of driving I did yesterday running errands. Hope you enjoy. All links below.

    When I went from my stock 265/17s up to 285 Mud Terrains from General Grabber, my mpg's dropped by 5, still won't go back through. I like the stabillity from unsprung weight, corners planted. My tires are noise-y though, so I might look for something with less road noise next like an AT tire. You may want to close that gap between the fender liner and body. You don't want dirt and muck going in there.

    I think you’re wrong. 5 mpg is too much. You’re comparing what the truck reads right? Well your larger tires you go further than your truck thinks you’re going. Do the math it should only be 1-2 mpg in reality

    Hey man, great vids. Question: I have a 2in lift, Toytec Aluma 2.5s, I will be running 285/75/R16, I got the cab mount chop done, but do I need to do all the cutting you did on the fender as well as all the cutting you did on your viper cut video? Or do you think minor cutting will do it? thank you sir

  • @ClassyTacos

    @ClassyTacos

    2 жыл бұрын

    You could start with minor and then work into more cutting depending on how much time you spend off road. If the truck strictly stays on pavement, its minor cutting. Any off-roading will require more cutting as the suspension cycles it will hit. Thanks for watching.

    I'm a yes, but it is subjective. You could always pick up the 295s with plans for the future to re gear. See how it feels, then decide after a bit. The gears will help move the truck from a stand still, makes it feel easier, lighter, quicker. Thanks for watching.

  • @ClassyTacos

    That -38 is a killer. You will need to check your caster, make sure it’s maxed. Go get an alignment at a shop that deals with lifted trucks. Tell them you need the max caster. Good luck. There is always more cutting and pounding with a sledge hammer.

    @@mrsukwoo8257 From my experience with the work done and past stuff. Yes, the 35s will fit for street driving. But will need more trimming for Off road. Also with the 35s the truck will feel like a slug with stock gearing so be prepared for a gearing change. With 35s I feel like my CMC would not be enough and I would have to go with the aftermarket cab mount route. Many people have to remove the inner fender plastics for 35s so that usually means a snorkel as the air box intake is in the passenger fender well. It takes a ton of work/parts to rock 35s correctly. The 295 is a nice first step or gateway to 35s while you get the truck ready for the 35s. Thanks for watching.
