    The Car Doctor I have a question. I have the same lights but only one code, the P0156. Could it be the same sensor you replaced?

    Must be a high failure rate on these A/F censors. Every Toyota I have scanned has had a code for it. Great video. Thank you

    Thanks Tim, I have a similar issue with VSC plus tracking off and check engine lights are all on, found out it could be gas cap? changed gas cap still lights are all on. watching your video I'm thinking O 2 censor now? I use to do my own work which saved me a bundle but years of hard labor and stupid things I did my back is screwed up lol. Your to far away Tim you sound like an honest mechanic which is hard to find..

    I have been chasing a P2197 and a P0174 for several thousand miles. Had several small vacuum leaks and a control circuit issue on the original sensor. However, I have never had any code on the downstream sensor. Fuel trims are great after the vacuum repairs, any sort of highway driving spikes the sensor voltage to 5.00, the bank two trims to plus 20, and brings back the two codes. Replaced original sensor with a Denso unit. Have also replaced MAF, plugs, coils, and injectors on the problem bank.

    +The Car Doctor Tim it looks dark and I'm a Coors light drinker but it was really Ozzstar that mentioned I should try some IPA and a couple other guys and it's no turning back, I tried at least 10 so far and Well's IPA from England is for me light tasting and so much more flavourful. I imagine you can get it if not I'll send you one. Lemme know.

    No I was wondering what you had a taste for for selecting you something. Also, if it's really cold there won't beer freeze and explode in the mail? I know that wouldn't work if you were shipping way north here. It would just blow up in the mailbox when it froze at -30F.

    have a 2002 sienna check eng/trac off/vsc light all on....checked gas cap to make sure it was clicked....was good.....so I did a easy reset sense I already knew the o2 sensor was changed out.....push your trac control button in for 2 secs with power off...then turn key on and hold your trac control button in until light goes off.....everything reset:)

    I totally agree with you on the Christmas Tree lights. It's shameful that both Toyota would disconnect a safety device and the NHTSA would allow it. Greed has even over taken the Japanese to lose face to endanger lives. Even worse is the fact that Americans tax payers consumer protection service stoops to a new low by not protecting our lives. EVERYONE should file a safety complaint with the NHTSA site. We pay extra for the safety equipment installed on our Toyota's in this country and all have the right to demand a safe vehicle.

    Nice diag and repair, Tim. I know you were getting low on recording time but how did the B2 sensor 2 look after replacing the AFR sensor?

  • @ThecardoctorTV

    @ThecardoctorTV

    8 жыл бұрын

    +wysetech2000 I should have shown the data. I didn't really pay attention to the downstream. The fuel trims fell right in line and the A/F began switching so I called it a success. I probably didn't run out of recording time as much as patience. Haha. Thanks for the encouragement.

  • @andrewthompsonuk1
    @andrewthompsonuk18 жыл бұрын

    It appears to me that there are numerous issues that can affect A/F sensors. They need some sort of dynamic calibration and this usually done by clever software and the downstream sensors. In this case the downstream sensor looked fine had it not responded I would fix that one first. Thanks for the great videos.

    +The Car Doctor I do not think anybody knows all there is to know about these. I have come to the conclusion that the manufacturers cannot tell you how their programmes work lest the breach someone's patent somewhere. So they write weird fault finding flow charts instead.

    It may be hard to guess at but, I am getting a P0057 on a toyota sienna 2011 model with the 3.5 something about heated oxygen sensor heater control circuit low going for bank 2 sensor 2 occasionally after you drive the van then it sits a few hours you go to restart it the van will start but, expereiences an slightly extended cranking of a morning it always starts fine but, drive it then it sits two three hours sometimes it will have to crank a little bit more than normal to start. This odd cranking I noticed it then within a week or so later the P0057 set I am thinking because they both happened at the same time it may be related. I have let the dealer perform the expensive cleaning they call fuel induction and injector cleaning service used different injector cleaners in the tank thinking that was my problem spark plugs were replaced on time per toyota reccomendations with the denso iridium long life plugs. No other codes come up but, P0057 the dealer when I asked someone over there about it they said bank 2 sensor 2 still plays a role in regulating the fuel trims and they could definitley cause a abnormal startup and the thing is the van doesnt do this everytime when go restart a few hours after driving just when it takes a notion too. Averages overall driving 22.3 or so mpg it actually went up a little bit after letting the dealer do the fuel system cleaning on it but, wasnt doing bad before van runs fine besides the occasional abnormal startup and just turned over 176,000 miles had 95 thousand on it when we bought it two years ago and there was no p0057 code on it then and did not have no abnormal startups either. Next weekend going to replace that 02 sensor regardless and see what that does if that doesnt fix it I am stumped then cause it is the only code currently stored in it Please the car doctor or anyone else shoot me an idea on this here if you have a moment and can answer my question

    Look on the back side of the air cleaner housing box for a single vacuum hose. it falls of when people service or inspect the air filter and sets an EVAP code. If that's not it youll need to pull the codes and let me know what codes it has
