2011 Toyota Sienna Very Deceiving CHECK VSC SYSTEM message.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The above mentioned message came up together with CEL (check engine light). They've been sporadically come and go together until one moment when they've become on all the time.
Long story short - when oxygen sensor fails - the vehicle is loosing all stability control functions as well!

Same thing is happening to our 2011 Toyota Sienna. P0430 code and check VSC. Dealer recommends replacing the catalytic converter after troubleshooting that the sensors were working. Trying the advice on other chat rooms to do a fuel additive and a new air filter. Will then try a new PCV valve and then a new B2 Sensor 2 O2 sensor like you did. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for this! Same problem, VSC light, but also an intermittent P0300 (Cylinder Misfire). I was chasing down the vacuum leak, MAF and PCV. cleaning ABS Sensors rabbit hole(s) until I saw your video. I'm not getting a specific O2 sensor malfunction off my BlueDriver. So either more research or buy two downstream sensors. Thanks a bunch for connecting the dots between two seemingly unrelated systems! Update- it's worth checking some really easy things, like the PCV valve and its hose to the intake. I was nosing around and realized the hose was just "hanging by habit" to the intake [following an urgent alternator replacement by local multi-brand Napa repair shop - after which the VSC and P0300 occurred]. I removed and cleaned the PCV, then ensured the hose clamps were snug. The VSC light and the misfire codes haven't come back after four days of varied but steady driving. I think you're on to something. In my case, the air introduced downstream of the MAF may have contributed to the P0300, and then the VSC as you experienced. My downstream O2 sensors are in the sub 1 volt range, but not operating in sync like the upstream Air/Fuel sensors are (which may mean one is going bad, but early days). Next the serpentine belt and trying to figure out why I'm running through CV boots on the outer boot, left side. LAST UPDATE - Here are the verified Denso PNs for the 2011 Sienna for the Bank(x) Sensor (x) locations: B1S1 (Right/Firewall, Upstream) 234-9022 ; B1S2 (Right, Downstream) 234-4540; B2S1 (Left/Radiator, Upstream) 234-9008; B2S2 (Left, Downstream) 234-4416.

I found this same solution mentioned in various online forums. I still have this problem, and need to fix it. One VERY IMPORTANT THING for anyone with a 2011 Sienna V6 - update your OIL COOLER LINES!!! They are rubber from the factory, and will start to leak and could cause a fire! It is a SAFETY RECALL in Canada, but not in the U.S. I replaced mine with the updated METAL lines and gaskets from Toyota for just over $110 in parts as a kit. Our rubber lines started squirting engine oil right on the front catalytic converter and started smoking. It pumped out 3-4 quarts of oil over several miles with no warning! Also, check your transmission for the presence of the magnets in the pan - ours didn't have any, from the factory! Now we need a transmission because of Toyota's poor quality control - aluminum in the fluid and slips in reverse when hot. Putting 10 quarts of fluid through it didn't help. Good luck!

Had the same issue with the cooler lines. Shit design and a ticking time bomb for sure. Got the upgraded one from the dealer, bit of a pain in the ass to swap but doable with patience and the right tools.

I succeeded in removing the suspected faulty oxygen sensor from my 2011 Toyota Sienna and pre-detached the cable and clip. I attempted to install the new Denso O2 sensor (that you promoted via Amazon) after placing a small bead of copper antisieze (included) on the leading threads. Unfortunately, with the cable scrunched behind the body of the oxygen sensor, apparently I did not have the threads squarely engaged. I rounded the leading threads on the replacement (new) oxygen sensor. I have ordered a second sensor and will be more careful to manually thread prior to wrenching and torquing tight so as to NOT cross thread. I am hoping that the threads in the exhaust pipe's bung are not corrupted. There is not much room there to run a tap through to chase out the bung's threads.

So I have a 2008 Seinna. Shortly after purchasing it used, we experienced a faulty traction control system. Going around a curve, the van would freak out, the brakes would slam on, and it would be hard to control the van. The Yaw sensor was replaced, zero point balancing, etc. No luck. Have heard it could be the rack and pinion. Then an O2 sensor went out. This disabled the faulty braking system, so the van was drivable. Partner replaced the sensor so I could pass my emissions check. Disabled the traction control system by pulling some fuse. I hate driving this van. I live in a valley and have to go through mountains to leave. I avoid leaving the valley floor or driving in any type of bad weather. I have driving-related anxiety now. I do not understand why Toyota designed all these things to be intertwined with one another. We have owned several Toyotas from the 1969 Corolla to the 1980s. I thought I was buying a decent van by going with Toyota. I need a new car but am afraid of buying another lemon.
