If Toyota sold this in America it would become the best selling pickup, outselling Fords f-150 within two years. America needs a 10,000 pickup that is just that…a pickup
We need a truck with a low bed with foldable sides in America....it is an untapped market.

Bring this to the US. It would sell like hotcakes

The US market will begin complaining how basic it is, specially the media and car influencers, leading to less sales and eventually, complete discontinuation. Just like the FJ.

Seeing the demand for imv0 in USA, it would be dumb for them to not sell this there
Sadly, America will never get an "affordable" pickup. It would upset the apple cart too much.
That Rangga idea is nice! If Toyota can make a "small" offroad body on frame car like the Jimny that would be sick! I own a 2022 Jimny! Amazing little car!
@jorgeluisburgoacosio9998

Actually that Rangga looks like it's based in a 5 door Jimny, Toyota owns Suzuki and would be amazing if they take the 5 door Jimny to US as a Land Cruiser Sport (obviously with a hybrid powertrain to bump the power up) and being there a double cab and single cab Pickup based on a Jimny would be awesome

@@jorgeluisburgoacosio9998 Toyota doesn't own Suzuki lmao, they have a small stake in Suzuki and they collaborate on cars.
A 4x4 version of this truck will be great for overlanding.
In the late 90s in the Philippines we called that Tamarraw FX but now toyota decided to revive that model again thank you for updating Toyota Asian news! here in the philippines we a lot of new toyota cars and thats great all new alphard, all new wigo and all new innova zenix
IF all of these are coming out and official then I’m super happy that Toyota is bringing more fun and basic platforms to build off of…even if they aren’t all for the global market.
This Truck would Look good as a Camper/ Overland Vehicle 😊
I've been noticing more and more Japanese domestic vehicles where I live in the Pacific Northwest, mostly of interesting tiny-to-fairly large vans and pickups. I'd be *really* interested if only they were lefthand drive.

Same here. But for what it's worth they're so narrow that rhd isn't that bad!
This has been in production in Asia for decades since the 80s. In the Philippines it is called the toyota Tamaraw or Revo. My dad's brother had a cargo van conversion.
Good information. Thanks Kirk!
Great coverage. Toyota should fly you to this show in Indonesia next year. All expenses covered.
I’m currently driving an 85 s15. I love how basic it is. It’s a joy to drive. I had the engine and transmission rebuilt. Just dealing with some other little things that keep going wrong. I hope it’s completely done in working condition by the spring. I wanna take it camping to west Texas in Big Bend!
I rented a Suzuki in Iceland, that little rig is more then capable!
Wow! Kind of a Honda Element cab! I like it!
Looks Cool and Simple. It seems it will very usable with different configurations. I hope it does have a Hybrid and Diesel powertrain options.
Looks so cool
I need one. Maybe this is Toyotas response to the Maverick
Can't wait ❤
look up Toyota Town Ace/Lite Ac truck. It is smaller than Tacoma, like Ford Maverick size but unlike the Ford Maverick it is proper body on frame rear wheel drive. They sell in third world countries. It is not one of those UTV sized JDM Kei truck either it is a proper sized car. It has only around a 100hp though. They could probably make this the Toyota Scout.
If that Ranga could fit 3 people across I would definitely want one 🇨🇦. I love the fact that they are just providing a platform to work off of!
Kirk, All I want is a simple, single cab Hilux with a manual transmission and 2TR-FE engine. Please make mine white with the word TOYOTA spelled out in red letters on the tailgate. 🤩 Of course, I am would be more than happy with the return of the T-100 in a similar configuration. 😉😁
Awesome
I would love a truck like this .I'm all in on this truck
still like the single cab 6'box , my design would be a weekender with a cab high camper shell like we had in the 1980s ,have a 1980 4x4 look with 30" bfg mud Terran tires whit rims and chrome hub caps
Why not just a 2 door Prado like they sell in every other market?
Hey Kirk would you rather buy the new LC70 or wait for the new Hilux?
Toyota, I love it. I would buy one
Oh baby yes toyota. Reminds me of my X runner
Would it come out in 4x4. With solid front axles, like the Jimny?
I wish it has the 2.0 hybrids engine from Prius but longitudinally mounted rear wheel drive, plug in optional
I would be willing to bet we wont be able to get anything like this in the US. I’ll believe we will get an affordable pickup when I see it. I’m not holding my breath.
Hi Kirk! I am so excited about this small truck to compete with the Ford maverick… I think everybody that owns an SUV or two or four-door vehicle would definitely want a small versatile little workhorse that can go around and run errands. I think it would fit into almost every family in the United States , that’s just my opinion I would definitely purchase one depending on what model they made. I would like something closed in and something that had camping features.🇯🇵❤️🤍 and I hope they make it in Japan at the Tahara factory or the Motomachi factory🙏👍😇⭐️ Respectfully, JimmyUSAF 🇺🇸✈️
In Philippines they are the next gen Tamarraw FX which is the favorite MPV of Filipinos
IMV0 are ladder chassis like Hilux and still use 2.4 or 2.8 diesel turbo engine for now. But maybe I think EV version may coming later.
That small truck looks great id buy one the way it is
A lot going on at Toyota!
BRILLIANT 🤩😎🤗
Thailand usually gets small pickups first so keep eye open .
I need it!!!!
Kirki- did u heard something about Subaru BRAT pickup? Size like Maverick
It starts at $10000 but from the looks of your shot at .50, axles, hubs, brakes, lugs and nuts are extra cost options.
Yes! Bring the Toyota Kei truck to America!
200k is such a milestone congrats!
Yo hey now I will buy one today
Hope they bring back the Stout.
Chassis-cab trucks are not subject to the chicken tax. Bring it here and let the aftermarket deal with the bed.

Like Costa Rica does, classed as farm trucks and then locals install wooden beds.
It’s not coming to the US. How can we show Toyota we want it in the US though!? Id love to get the stake bed style truck.
If this comes out in the US I would drop everything and go in and take for it. Especially if they do it in a decent motor with 5spd. I will drop everything and go

Wont happen, it won't pass bs regs.
America never got HZJ78 (Troopy) - would be interesting to see if this one happens 🤔
They saw the sales of KeiTora trucks here are catching on....back to basics no fluff
Great size as a farm mechanics service truck. All a work vehicle has to be is just a carburettor engine with a gearbox with differentials jammed between a chassis.
is there a 4wd variant?
I still want details on their solid state batteries.
i like it. i'm in 👍
I knew the Lolux Hotwheels looked familiar
If it makes North America definitely want one, but want it in 4dr crew cab
Yes a small truck with bed sides which are on hinges, and a internal combustion 4 wheel drive. Engine at a reasonable price.
How.much weight do they figure you can haul in the box?
If it has a 6-8’ bed 4WD hybrid, we’ll buy it.
We want this manual diesel 4x4 in us plz.

I want one❤
And forget the computers....cars now are just expensive cell phones on wheels. But this is a wonderfull idea....just imagine a car for the masses!
Saweeet -- I can't wait to mount a ZU 23-2 on a Rangaa!🤣
This would make a great maverick truck competitor
I want one that has a separate area from the driver for ride share. With an interior that can be hosed down in case a drunk barfs.
AI still hope is not a hybrid only small truck in amarica like the land cruiser prado.
I like the concept but in other videos it was said to be a $10,000 truck. With all the different options I’m sure the price will vary as much as the options. And the big thing is will it come to USA at all let alone at that price. I know it would sell quite well if it does. 👍

it'll be $40K at any dealer in the US with $$$ 'packages' on every one added by the dealers. chicken tax needs to end, EPA fuel economy regs need to be re-evaluated for practicality, as do safety regs. better drivers would save far more lives than nanny devices.
@ATruckCampbell

@@OndreaS123 You are asking the government to do something reasonable that will benefit the common man, therefor it will not happen.
For USA, they should make it as a Cabover RV with Shower and Cassette Toilet, Slide outs, with a low profile AC and 1000 watt Solar Cells on top! under $15000.
Would it meet CAFE standards?
I just heard about the IMV-0 this morning. I think that's impossible to do in the USA political environment. But IF IF IF that were to happen, I'll be one of the first in line to get 2 or 3 of them for the local delivery biz I'm trying to organize right now. That would be absolutely affordable to me and other small businesses operating on shoestring budgets.
Yes Toyota yes please.
That's exactly what the Stout should be.
America needs a real work truck again . 2 door , 6 or 8 foot bed . I want one .
Bro I saw this truck in Halo 2 twenty years ago
That small suv is a 3door landcruiser prado
New FJ foreshadowing
I want one
The iv0 front end looks cooler than the suv
Perfect truck for farms and Texas😎
I would like to live in Mexico to buy cars or trucks not available in US and maybe bring them over here for some days or weeks.
Bro looks like Case Keenum
Also this would’ve had dodge, gm, and ford going crazy and having to combat this with their own!
Too bad for you guys! I think I’m gonna buy it cause I will be retired in Thailand!
It's not called a Ranga Concept vehicle. It is called the IMV 0 and will be offered in the Asian market to supply the people here with affordable and dependable trucks. Don't expect to see it in the US market anytime soon.
Toyota has the facilities in in North America to produce such a model. It might just happen.
I want this truck so badly. But, I know I need to see it perform first. Got to tone down the excitement
What a surprise, I didn't expected any North American media would take an interest to the Rangga concept, let alone make a video of it! 😂
Remember the Datsun long bed ?
Back in the 80s you used to be able to buy Chevy S 10 Chevy blazer Chevy whatever truck strip down to your order, vinyl floor, stick shift, manual windows, no radio, steel wheels. They need to get back to that
We need this truck in the. United states. Bear bones. 2x and 4x versions. Industrial, utilitarian, and practical. The only luxury it needs is a heater/defroster.
Perfect vehicle for Toyota to produce in Mexico for export to both North and South America.
It's just Rangga that we're not getting it here in the States.
I hope Toyota culd make the new Land Cruiser J250 intoa BEV.
Maybe that racer as a new X runner?
America doesn't want things like this, because we used to have them and everyone wanted something bigger...and bigger...and bigger...and BIGGER...until compact trucks got shit on. Then I moved to Australia, and I realize that there's a better chance of this coming to Oz than the US, because most trucks/utes in Australia are compact to mid-size... ...oh...AND the Suzuki Jimny does well here...
I'd like to see a apocalyptic one and see what they come up with.
Toyota should bring that to America, because it is a versatile flatform. Government agencies and contractors could use them in a lot of applications.
