I learned something new... i will not buy a CVT-transmission car. Noise : While CVTs offer a very smooth operation, they can also be quite noisy in the cabin of your car. Most cars with CVTs get most of the engine's power (for passing, onramps, and going up inclines) higher in its rev-band, meaning the engine needs to rev to higher RPMs than they would in a car with an automatic. Expensive repairs: CVTs are not as mechanically complicated as traditional automatic transmissions. That being said, they are significantly more difficult to work on and repair if something goes wrong. Due to their design, they need to be precisely calibrated and the work can be incredibly intricate. Because of this, you may have a difficult time finding a mechanic who has the knowledge and expertise needed to work on your vehicle’s continuously variable transmission. Even if you do find someone, it is going to be much more expensive to get it fixed and get yourself back on the road.

I mean they are, the gap between normal cars and luxury cars are closing, its not like the old days where cheap cars would be laud, hard plastic interiors etc, nowadays almost all cars have good isolation, good build quality and rides good. I recently drove a rav 4 (with all the bills and whistles) and a volvo t8 XC90 (with all bills and whistles) and tbh yes the volvo acceleration and ride quality was better but the gap wasnt that big? And in terms of build quality there wasnt much difference.

This car makes a lot of sense on so many levels. I got rid of my V8 truck (I do miss it) for this car in black, SE model. Truck was killing me on gas as I have a 1 hr + commute. I have 70k on mine, not a single issue. (Can't say the same about the truck). It also still rides as smooth as the day I picked it up. Gas bill has been literally cut in half and so has insurance. I paid sticker for it (wasn't marked up). It's almost like it's putting money back in my pocket. I feel w andriod auto it has just the right amount of tech for me, no regrets. To anyone looking at one, you will have no regrets owning it. It makes a lot of sense on many levels.

Excuse me what year is that Camry?
I must say this was one of the best car reviews I’ve seen. Honest, straight forward and to the point. Those other ones seems boring.
Well I have to agree with scotty on this one. Bought one of these in nightshade edition in 2021 and it is the best 27K I ever spent. Love pretty much everything about it, D4S, no turbo, timing chain, proven powerplant, conventional trans and super mileage. Only thing I hate is the cruise control takes too many presses to do anything as it never remembers previous settings and the lane keeping stuff is too obtrusive and picky in my opinion. But the new Camry's really are incredibly well designed overall and should last a long long time.
@TheAnnoyingBoss
Жыл бұрын
I do wish thsyd get did of tbe lane keeping tech because to me its useless and u dont wsmt stuff in my way like that. Id rather have the money spent instead on higher quality components. I think the base modem bare bones with basics like floor mats is still a pretty expensive vehicle but ifs affordable enough the new ones are obtainable by many so years later at least youll be able to pick up good ones for pretty affordable and thats what i aim for if im really driving. I just purchased the 2024 Nightshade edition SE AWD! It literally has everything I need and nothing I don’t. I’m very satisfied knowing it’s going to run practically forever. My Mom’s Camry is a 2001. That’s 22 years old! She’s only ever had to replace her radiator and her water pump. Those two things broke but I think she did pretty good. Other than that, it’s just been regular oil changes, maintenance, and making sure her battery is good. She could hop in that car and drive it anywhere and it would be fine. All my aunts drive a Camrys. They run forever.

Hey Scotty, just fyi in eco mode, when stepping on the pedal it will bypass eco mode with a delay. If you feather the pedal the cpu tries to keep the engine under certain rpm. It also does things at idle like lower power consumption with ac and light i believe. I just keep eco off, still get 44mpg with my wife's 18 Camery on the hwy
Wife bought a low mileage theft recovery 2020 Camry, almost identical mechanically to what you described. Black on black, and she regularly gets over 40 mpg on the highway. We test drove one that "hunted" between 7th and 8th gear and the one we bought is solid and cruises ridiculously low rpm at 60 mph. I'd definitely buy another.
Got a 2019 Camry SE and I absolutely love this thing.
Just drove one of these from So Cal to Las Vegas round trip for a work event. Nice comfortable ride and amazing on gas. Tried out the sports mode. All modes felt very similar.
I was at work yesterday and looked out at the parking lot and saw a row of Camry’s. These are almost like sports cars to drive. I rented one to replace my Pontiac Grand Am, which was plagued with problems until I finally had to sell it. The Camry was a beautiful gray one that got loads of compliments. My neighbor begged me to get it back. I’m looking at the RAV4 now because it’s more comfortable on my back to sit up higher.

Good video. I own a 2018 Camry XSE . The first year of this new generation of camrys. It does hunt for gears some on the highway, and it wants to turn a corner in third gear ( sometimes even 4th) meaning it has zero power till I paddle shift down to second where it should be. Toyota should really give owners like me a flash update to what the new software is. One more clarification about it not having auto start/ stop. That’s because it’s a 4 cylinder Scotty. If you get a highlander or something with a v6 or larger, Toyota has it on there.Everyone uses it to bolster their mileage numbers, and may even be required by EPA. I hate it as well.
That engine tone and gear change was the best!
The lower spec models of Camry's have the infotainment system fully integrated. In New Zealand, you don't get the 8-speed automatic unless you get the v6 model. Most non-hybrid 4 cylinders here get the 6 speed.

Since buying had a new 6 speed automatic transmission put in at 115000kms after a failure that they could not figure out what caused itand was covered under warranty. Other then that no issues get all my maintance done before recommended oil change 5000kms ttransmission every 50000kms differentail at the same time. Love my ridgeline keeping it till it blows up. My GF has a 2016 CRV with just under 100000kms it has just started to have rough starts grinding matalic sound espespecially when cold, always starts and doesnt skip or hesitate thinking it might be the starter just starting to go. If not what else could it be.
Thanks for sharing ❤

I have a 2018 Camry se with 208k miles. Only complaint is that the transmission gets lost with gears . Other than that this car is super comfortable
I'm very satisfied with my 2019 Camry SE. To top it off, I got it brand new out the door for $27k even plus 2 years free maintenance. Oh, I also have the model year that still had its screen integrated on the dash.

What do you guys think about wind noise while driving your camry? While on interstate I have to turn the radio up more than I like to. I had an Buick 15 years ago, that car was as quiet with windows up, as a phone booth. Do anyone have this problem with a 2015 camry? Tell me your thoughts please.
Excellent information on this Toyota Camry
Great review Scotty!
Sunroofs are not too bad in general.. With a little maintenance they won't leak or make any noises, I personally love them in any car..
That's true but I use the sunroof alot
Mr Scotty Sir your review is hilarious I enjoyed alot how you speak makes me stick to your video God bless you 🙏 pray for me that one day I can buy my own car as well
Hi Scotty! We visited our local Toyota dealership yesterday and fell in love with the 2023 Camry XLE. In our area (mid-NJ) they are mostly AWD models and the dealer will buy our current car which is coming of lease -- a 2020 Accord Touring (top of the line). The interior was very spacious, and we aren't fans of paying extra for Navigation and Sunroof, which we don't need. Fast forward one hour to our 2nd visit to our local Honda dealership. Sat in a 2023 Accord (Sport Hybrid) and felt cramped. Plus, they won't take as much in trade in for our 2020 Accord. Guess what? We are going with the Camry. With the XLE AWD model almost "loaded", we will save $6K over the Accord. Bye Honda! Sadly, we cannot get a Camry Hybrid as they are 6 months behind production, and the Accord Touring models won't be available in our area until Memorial Day. We'll get a new Camry in 2 weeks, saving 2 months of car payments (our 2020 Accord is leased until May). Thanks for an enjoyable video!
My 2001 Solara finally kicked the bucket when two cylinders were misfiring and the exhaust had a hole in it 😞. But I got a 2016 Camry and it’s better in almost every way. 😊
I personally recently purchased the 2022 Camry SE Nightshade Edition!! Love it!
I’m getting a 23 Camry TRD here pretty soon and I’m really looking forward to it now that I know Scotty approves haha
I am very happy with my 2023 Camry SE Nightshade. Feels nice to drive and was definitely a good upgrade from my 2008 Scion XB haha

Had a Chevy Cruze before my hybrid Camry. The Cruze was an absolute pain and was always costing me money to repair. The Camry has had no issues.

I just lost a lot of money with the Cruze, decided enough is enough and traded it in for a Camry. The relief from not having to worry about the car is priceless.
I love my 2020 Camry! Great review.
You made my buy a Camry 2022 or newer Sir thank you Have a nice day❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
My partner has this car and I drive it often 10/10 very smooth, gas is great and extremely easy to maintain it 70k miles strong so far, very spacious and completely comfortable ride. I agree 1000% Also the aftermarket support for this car is pretty great too, you can make them look nicer in many ways!

I drove the ‘18 Camry SE a few years ago and I just fell in love with everything about it. People did complain about the engine being buzzy at higher rpm’s but I think it’s pretty cool. A “sports” car should have some engine noise to it.

Got a fully loaded 2.5L 2019 XSE. The seats are fully softex "leather", the infotainment screen is lower and part of the dash. The pano roof is HIGHLY underrated. I was an Uber driver for a while, and driving people through downtown at night with all the neon lit up on the buildings was pleasing to see above. I got many tips over the pano roof. Up to about 175,000 miles. I've replaced the two forward bearing hubs and that's it outside normal maintenance.
Love the knowledge of the GOAT Scotty Killmer
We had the Toyota Camry here in the UK, but it is no longer sold here. However, Ireland and some other European countries still have it. The European spec uses a 2.5-litre hybrid system only.

I have a 2019 SE I that brought off lease with almost 27k and I absolutely love it.
I have the 2019 Camry SE (pretty much the same thing as this one) and I love it. 114,000 miles and it doesn’t do any of that gear hunting or transmission hesitation that a lot of people complain about. I think that was just the 2018 model. My dad’s 2018 Camry does it. Even the ones that do gear hunt and hesitate are still reliable, but it’s just annoying.

And reliability of Camry is second to none. I had German 4 x 4 before and they were pain to repair due way too complicated, using so many plastic parts, prone to deteriorate, cracking and cost way too much if mechanic ends up fixing.
