Jill this was awesome! I wish they had these in Georgia. I love that it's only by-product is water. I hate that the most abundant element in the universe is that expensive. I've been curious about these for a few years. Thanks for all the info. See you later on that truck channel I like so much👋

So at $13.99/Kg, and the cars capacity is a little over 5Kg, it costs $70 to fill it up. With a range of 400 miles, it doesn't seem to be saving all that much! My 2008 Lexus LS460, which I affectionately call "The Beast", because if it's propensity to drink fuel, costs me about $85-90 here in California, with fuel prices particularly high (about $5 a gallon) ... perhaps I'm missing something, but that doesn't sound like a fantastic savings, esp. considering the initial cost of the vehicle.

The motivation for hydrogen fuel cell isn't saving in fuels costs but an alternate fuel source. And that is why the vehicle includes $15,000 of free fuel so it costs $0.00 to fill for a few years. Mega savings.

@@fiveoctaves So, a full tank will cost aprox 70$. Devide 15000 by 70 and multiply by 400 miles and youl get 85000 miles free range. Thats kinda "free" for a vehicles lifetime.

Grandma's who drive Priuses slower than the speed limit sign get 360miles on a full tank. I get 325 - 340miles on my 2022 mirai. This is realistic. Back seat is cramp for big and fat people, trust me Ive done it. The opening to get into the backseat comfortably is narrower than a honda accord or camry. Its damn quiet and smooth like a lexus for sure. Wish the fuel prices wasnt so high. If it remains this high and my complimentary $15,000 fuel card runs out. Im definitely selling the car for something else more efficient and cost effective.

We don’t get the nice things in the Midwest. Is it a California only car because of the availability of the hydrogen infrastructure or is it because fuel cell cars are not compatible with our winter temperatures

terrible experiences to add hydrogen, the hydrogen stations around me (usually 10 miles away) has been always down, one has been down for 4 months. The other I waited 30 min today without hydrogen or station error. The hydrogen price is twice or even triple the price of gas.

With a little research anyone can find this easily, but the hydrogen fuel cell has 2 main issues: First is the hydrogen itself. It's not cheap or trivial to produce the hydrogen, and it could also be very costly for the environment, especially in the methane (CH4) sourcing; building the infrastructure is not easy, it also costs a lot of money, even compared with gasoline stations. The fact that the hydrogen needs to stay under presure (10000 psi in the case of h70) it's a very complicated issue and it's potentially more dangerous than gasoline or diesel,. The second problem is the price of the car and fuel. The car is more expensive than the regular fuel combustion engine ones, and even if you get 3 years free now, a full tank for 200 miles is going to cost you at least $100. Granted, with the way the gasoline prices are rising this may come anyway, but if you look at the cheapest solution, hydrogen aint' it. And all this for a car with normal performance (it's not as quick as an electric car or even a V8). I heard it drives well, but the same thing can be said about a Toyota Prius. In my opinion, this technology was tried and tested for more than 50 years withou any major succes and I think Toyota should follow all the other manufacturers who stopped the development of the FCV. It might have some legs with the aviation industry, but for personal travel solution, it doesn't have potential. I'm not trying to be mean, but the FCV seems like the last try from a dying Oil + Gas industry to keep us as customers.

Do you have a source for that? I've seen quite a few people say this, but all I can find is other videos saying it, but still not giving the source for it - if you reference another video, it has to reference the source, it can be an interview, a press release, a tweet - anything - I have not seen any actual proof that Tesla are doing a hydrogen anything - maybe backup power for super chargers at most?
