Is the ALL NEW 2021 Toyota Mirai the car of the FUTURE?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Mirai is a production hydrogen powered vehicle from Toyota. The NEW 2021 Mirai is the second generation of this fuel cell sedan, with a major step forward in design and drivability. On the outside you will find body lines that closely resemble a Lexus sedan. Under the hood you have an electric motor that helps produce 192HP with a direct one-speed drive transmission. Power is delivered to a new RWD platform. On the inside you are greeted to a new 12.3in infotainment system, and high end materials. In the car industry with brands like Tesla pushing for pure EV, is hydrogen the power source of the future? Is the NEW 2021 Toyota Mirai the car of the FUTURE? ***Become a Raiti's Rides Patreon Member TODAY!

As soon as people know that the Hydrogen stations are everywhere (which they will be) This and EV is what people will be buying, the younger generations want the latest tech, the latest everything. I see gas stations actually being "Service Stations" with gas, electric and Hydro all in one place and on every corner, with WAWA type amenities. Those will be the only stations that survive, you won't be able to make it just selling gas.

I would agree with you, but Hydrogen is better than electric for a few reasons. While driving ev’s is clean, for the most part, the electricity to charge them is still generated by things like coal and oil. Second, creating them actually gives off more emissions than the creation of even gas vehicles, such as mining for lithium, which is also a non-renewable resource. Third, you’d still have to figure out what’s going to happen with heavy duty towing, and transport. You’re still going to get heavy emissions to transport the materials needed to create them from semi-trucks, trains, planes, etc. Lastly, companies aren’t doing this for the environment, they’re doing it for competition.

The mirai is the future car because it’s a hydrogen powered vehicle rather than lithium ion , gas, or Diesel engines. What really surprises me about the mirai is that it’s emissions is only water exiting the cathode from the fuel cell because hydrogen mixes with oxygen and that creates h2o which is water. So If you’re thirsty in an hot day then bring a glass cup from home and drain some water from below the car and drink it. Also instead of going to the grocery store to buy a water bottle you can drink water from your car. Almost all people won’t believe this amazing phenomenon. What an Amazing phenomenon

Concept is working, it's kicked of in Japan already, they've planned this for over 20 years, they feel ready that's why it's now commercially available, they will be producing trucks with this technology and that will bring hydrogen to your normal gas stations, Mirai means future in japanese

Interesting option! At least it looks like a car. Not too many zonks on this one, so they did their homework at Toyota. I'm curious as to if and when, government regulations will relax enough to allow these in other states/countries, as I'd never heard of it before now. It has a snow mode, so should be capable-ish. Great choice for the display area, Lori! Another impressive video, thank you

Interesting and thanks for the review. I feel like an ignominious as I didn’t even know this technology was commercially available. My bad. Have these cars been around long enough for some reliable economic comparisons with IC, Hybrid and Electric vehicles? I expect I’ll be waiting a fair amount of time before I could realistically consider an alternative given where I live.

@@Unique_Japan Thanks Ed. I just read a piece in an engineering blog that the Asian car manufacturers are investing heavily in hydrogen while European powerhouses are increasing their investments in electric powered vehicles. It will be an 'interesting' decade! I live in sparsely populated Montana, so the feature I'm most concerned about is range. Cheers.

I'm totally liking this concept. Having lived in SoCal, breathing in those fumes on LA's San Diego, or Riverside Freeways for endless hours, I have absolutely no issue trading speed for such an environmentally friendly vehicle. When they figure out how to get the price near $30k, it will be a massive hit. All these new electrical recharging stations that are about to be built should be designed to easily adapt/convert to partial Hydrogen Cell refueling from Day #1, as it's popularity grows. If I need a car that drives with alacrity and verve, I'll jump in my 2025 Miata E and hit those mountain passes. But as a daily hauler/errand runner... I'll have my Hydrogen, please! My rating *****!!!

This is really nice, the styling and Mirai emblem design, wheels, all the details. Looks like it has a JBL sound system. I just don't like the chocolate brown armrest on the doors. If the Hydrogen infrastructure has enough fueling locations, this would be perfect for an alternative fuel vehicle. Interior styling is futuristic but not overdone. Small trunk and no folding rear seats, but huge front and rear center console storage.

Toyota is one of the only companies investing into Hydrogen for the future and I love them for it. There will be a market for both electric and Hydrogen cars. Luckily we already have an infrastructure network that can be transitioned easily from gas stations to hydrogen pumps. Now with Hydrogen being able to be produced via electrolysis too it's clean, and will be a great addition into the market place. Very stoked about this car.

Ok, I've been watching you joe for probably about 2 years.i don't know if anyone else notices but Toyota doesn't fair well with you usually. Your Toyota reviews I usually just wait for the 1st zonk . but this the 1st Toyota you haven't zonked till the inside. Keyfob & horn design aren't BIG zonks . but the roof clearance & acceleration lag are bad zonks. But yeah best Toyota you reviewed so far. Can you imagine if they Do a tundra with this nice interior😃?
