  • @johnossendorf9979

    @johnossendorf9979

    Locked is Locked as long as it stays locked. The problem with a lot of factory electric lockers is they are limited to low range and unlock above a set speed to keep people from driving on the road with locked axels. This is the reason I want an automatic locker in the rear axel and a selectable locker in the front axel of a 4wd. I installed a Lock-Right automatic locker in my 93 2wd Toyota pickup in 95, I called it "Fulltime 2WD". With no lift and 14 inch snow tires it would go places no other 2wd could follow. I also pissoff a lot of guys in 4wd's who couldn't believe my little 2wd would go places they had to use 4wd to go. Ofcourse it's Achilles heel was ground clearance. I miss that little truck, it was a true Offroad and snow sleeper. I'v also had two TRD Offroad Tacoma's 1st and 2nd gen and an FJ Cruiser. All three with factory electric lockers in the rear. All, including the 93 2wd had manual transmissions .

    Lol yes, So after spending circa 130k on the car then dropping it off at ARB for the full catalogue of upgrades, bar, wheels, tyres, lift, snorkel, side skirts, UHF, Lockers, and most likely full drawer kit with ARB fridge etc etc and probably even GVM upgrade because you need that too so another 30 odd k worth of upgrades/downgrades (weight) plus then added the Landi number plates just in case someone following can't read the massive Land Cruiser writing on the tailgate they can see the cool? plate. Then he drove it or rather bounced it up a hill to win a stubby cooler and what bragging rights I guess. Hard to see the point really

    @@oggyoggy1299that's not Karen just someone who either respects his gear more and isn't into that style of 4wding or someone who could possibly never afford such a luxury and see's that as a too higher risk. Karen would chain herself to a koala to stop the park functioning. Reckon ARB would cough up a tail shaft if it twisted with stubby cooler? Me either, but if he can afford the 300 it's highly likely he can afford the challenge. Surprising effort by the big girl really, well done.

    It shouldn’t be so difficult to climb this slope. First select the right set of tyres. Do not apply too much acceleration and break grip. Try to reverse and use a different route. Differential locks will not help you if you are a bad driver. Avoid over confidence in your vehicle’s capabilities. At the end of the day, your vehicle is only as good as the traction provided by its tyres. If money is no object, I would recommend the Mercedes Unimog.
