Don't worry about the oil consumption. Have had my 300 for almost a year, no issues with oil consumption, no issues with the dpf injector. Just drive it and enjoy it. Kaon make a cargo barrier, with a shelf and wing covers for the glass. Love the wrap, looks mint

Cheers mate, thanks for the info on the cargo barrier
We added a lithium battery under the bonnet of our 300 series. A real neat job! We don’t need all the accessories in the back, just a slide out fridge in the back for our caravan trips. Have the reverse camera integrated onto the screen too! Also added new fitted car seat covers. Just love what you’ve done for your purposes and we just love the smooth driving and efficiency too!

That is awesome! They are a nice rig hey
I just updated my hilux and of course ARB bull bar and a must have side rails fitted (lots of roos where I live ), and flat black powder coating as standard I thought, they have the best quality bars on the market . My last hilux hit a car at 100 kilometres a hour when it failed to give way at intersection , wrote her car off and I drove home ,thanks to side rails that supported the bull bar ,awesome products, thanks ARB
I’m a bit in love with that wrap and the drawer system. Nice build!

Nice built. That’s serious off road beast. Many “no need” things for average user. Agree that if you can get it off the floor just take it. We did same. Just bought GR Sport off the floor. Someone was struggling to have a finance and we took an opportunity to buy it. 5 min decision. That’s strange but GR has got options not available with others 300 like Sahara, even with extra money. Like front lockers factory fitted or exclusive Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension system. Wrap looks great but decided to go with clear ppf due to practical reasons. Well done built guys

Why replace the electronic KDSS on the GRS??? It is one of the best features. Just to dodge the tax? Buy a Sahar 7 seat down if you want to change the suspension but not the GRS.

Interested to know does the car have 1 or 2 plates? Still got the original and the SSM one? Many a discussion around trying to avoid LCT on pre-rego work. Seems to be hit and miss, depends on dealer.
Awesome rundown and a very functional fitout on a reasonably modest budget. When you factor that most people would have that as a house deposit n that is basically your duplex, given you have the 200. In regards to a name "B Hauler" B for Boat, Bec or bloody kids

i beleive they do use a bit of oil for a small amount of time while the engine is being run in, no issue with the engine at all though. just keep an eye on oil levels while running in. no biggie as you should be checking oil anyways. on another note how good is the colour of this thing.

Nice ride guys as usual, excited to see all the adventures, question to you what do you think is a better fridge the upright you have in the 200 or chest in the 300, I getting a new ride and would appreciate your advice . 👍
@TripInAVan
11 ай бұрын
Tuff question hey… I reckon the chest fridge is a better fridge but the upright is more functional 👍
Hey Justin. Apparently, the 300's are using oil because of the hot Vee design, a thermal efficiency issue, from.what i have been told, they need good airflow when worked hard and also time to warm down. I would suggest holding off on engine mods until Toyota nuts out the issue, i have been led to believe they are aware of it. Run it in first before playing with the tune. Great rig mate, enjoy it
@peterj5751
Жыл бұрын
Hot V’s aren’t that new so I wouldn’t be too quick to blame that. However Toyota seems to always build faults into all new engines so it doesn’t stun me to hear they’ve done it again.

The engine is designed to use oil , they have made the tolerances a bit less to reduce friction and gain fuel efficiency, and less engine where ,just check it every 2000km or so and top it up as needed,

Easy enough to project manage yourself and easy to do the SSM to save the luxury tax with the GVM+ pre rego! Cooky is the best and will be doing ours with a couple of tricks! Amazed you have not added the long range fuel tank to take advantage of more fuel for longer runs - but guess you guys really do not do the big remote stuff where 300 Lt. are needed.. Tidy rig that looks good and time will tell how it performs! Be great to see you guys support some smaller players with the gear rather than one big name but guess it is all about the $$$ and gear.

It’s not all about dollars and gear. It’s about using good gear that’s fit for purpose.
Hey mate, what’s the off set on the rims
i have a land cruiser A LoT like that one.. almost identical. with that suspension and tires on. the gas tank is too small. need to put an auxiliary tank in on it unless u like going to the gas station constantly.. or put some blitz cans on at least that's ten gallons
Car looks awesome Justin. I grabbed the Oricom TPMS with 10 sensors and I had nothing but trouble getting them to work - and at $500 for the kit, somewhat disappointing to be honest. I have had to go back to my Jayco installed Tire Linc TPMS unit. Safe travels guys.
@TripInAVan

Geez that’s no good mate. Did you get in touch with Oricom? I’ve had mine installed for ages and the only issue I’ve had is a flat battery in a sensor 👍
@PeninsulaDroneography2024
Жыл бұрын
@@TripInAVan I did initially but there was only so much they could do over the phone, ideally, would be good to be able to visit someone / somewhere and get them working properly. I have no doubt that they are a good unit but the just wouldn't read the caravan tyres or air bags correctly. The fact that the airbags had a lower pressure than what was set for the overall tyres is an issue I think.
