Toyota Camry 2.5 V Review - AutoBuzz.my

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Toyota Camry's name was derived from the word "Kanmuri" which means "crown" in Japanese but is the new 8th generation model worthy of carrying that torch? Only one way to find out.

    Old engine is ok but for the asking price, it is not worth it. Top up some more can get a merc or a bimmer. In the same price range can get mazda 6.Sure there is a new chassis, but if the thais can get both the new chassis and new engine, why can't we get the new engine too? Umw have this reputation of being late to the party and being kedekut when it comes to specs. Also the RV of this car will drop when they release the new model with the new engine.

  • @celineong5400

    @celineong5400

    5 жыл бұрын

    paanjang16 UMW did the same with previous generation Camry. They launched the 2.5 without ESC selling at 180+k. After a year, when sales was bad only then they make ESC standard. By then, the launch version already suffered RV drop because the update model selling at same price and had better specs. UMW never learn from their mistakes.

    Toyota has always been stuck in a dilemma when it comes down to the Camry while not exactly an economy model its neither exactly luxury, to make it subpar is to ignore the fact that in the Malaysian market the Camry is considered an executive model, to make it luxurious is to siphon sales from their luxury devision Lexus

    I saw one on the road the other day, and it just so happened to be beside the previous gen Camry, the size difference was incredible. This new one is more Lexus ES than Camry! That being said, given that Toyota's pricing strategy has pushed this new Camry away from the Teana's and Accord's, and more into the Mazda6, Ford Mondeo and B8 VW Passat, how does it stack up against that upper D segment lot?

    Is there a noticeable quantum in terms of improvement of this new ride and handling, compared to the present Camry Hybrid(which is surprisingly very good)? The electric motor, when battery is charged, also complemented the shortcomings of the CVT gearbox and made it into quite an addictive drive for me. All reviews for this new Camry seems to indicate the 6 speed AT/2.5l combo is very good. How would you compare and contrast both? Lastly what about NVH at hwy speeds? Too much tyre roar for me for the hybrid... maybe there is no other sound left to notice. Thanks.

    agree with the well sorted ride and handling, but the engine power just sucks at speed below 100km/h the cabin space is also reduce compare to the old one especially is you sit 3 people , the outer seat person will hit the pillar very easily which is not happening on the old generation At night the ambient lighting is good for a Toyota, never seen them really do this even on Lexus model

    just wait for the mid cycle facelift..usually will definitely come with more feature maybe more great looking variant. previous gen even get hybrid after mid cycle..which pisses off many earlier adopters since the earlier 2.5 liter engine cost more than the hybrid and it didn't even come close to the goodies the hybrid came with which then became a standard for the top range.

    5:05 My opinion. We in Malaysia probably had an impression that the Camry are luxurious cars usually owned by the more upper class people(And probably most of the D segment cars sold here). But meanwhile in the United States, Camrys are pretty much everyday normal cars. Sometimes commonly used a rental cars. Sort of like a Myvi or a Vios to them. The latest Camry is pretty nice now, and its more luxurious than before. But it's definitely not gonna be as nice as something like a Merc or something. I do like the new Camry. It seems pretty good now. But also awaiting for the latest Corolla to come in here. That one seemed to be well praised by reviewers too. However knowing UMW, they're most likely only gonna bring in the sedan variant and not the hatchback. Also it'll probably take them 20 years.

What’s not acceptable is the missing paddle shifters! Well, most may not be using it but hey if a new Vios has one, why not on one of the flagships? 🤔🥺

    Harmony layout untuk cockpit tak setara dan tak selari, memang celaru betul, padanan masih pelik New Peugeot 3008 cockpit pun celaru juga , tapi ia tetap cantik dengan padanan yg hampir sempurna, gabungan warna yg sepadu dan menyerlah

    Eu Jin, can you review cars more often. I really like to calm and composed style of review, much much like GC's. The rest need to take some learning.

    Love the new looks but not it's heart. UMW Toyota never learn from Malaysian customers. I just pity who buy the CH-R, they're paying 150k for a crappy specs car. No LED headlamps and taillights with a weird looking rims. (Only this year UMW upgrade to dual tone rims) *see UMW still the same kedekut specs after not so laku then only they changed lol. I would consider this handsome Camry if they bring Dynamic Force engine to Malaysian market. If not Mazda 6 or Passat is a good choice because I'm not really interested with new gen Honda Accord, looks so boring just like Nissan Teana.

    The 'cheap' toyota logo at the front grille contains all the sensors in it. It's same as how mercedes did to their cars.
