The production version with the C-HR was unveiled with the March 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The North American production version has also been unveiled with the November 2016 LA Auto Show. The production from the C-HR entered November 2016. It was launched in Japan on 14 December 2016, and it started sale in Europe, Australia, South Africa and North America at the beginning of 2017, plus in Southeast Asia, China and Taiwan in 2018. The name C-HR represents Compact High Rider, Cross Hatch Run-about or Coupé High-Rider. Initial production was a student in Japan and Turkey. The North American-spec C-HR is imported from Turkey.
