Car review in a few | 2018 Toyota C-HR Hybrid

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Everyone keeps moaning at the fact that is too dark at the back.. I mean, when the kids are in my car the only thing I want them to do is fall asleep so the dark is perfect for me!

As most of these will be used in town and urban environments and a significant amount of time on electric only mode, this is the coolest and closest thing to a concept car in ages. Well done Toyota, real world city driving at 50+mpg is a no brainier. These will sell by the shed load.

I have the C-HR in America, and it's not a hybrid. It has pick up and is very enjoyable to drive. It has three driving modes, so you pick the one you need for the road you are driving on. I love it!! Thanks for your review, but everything is subjective.

I recently bought this car and it is really satisfying. No it is not a race monster. A smooth relaxing ride instead. But hey, try to find a car this size with this fuel efficiency.

Quite surprised to hear you said it did not give a good ride. Though other reviewers on KZread say it is a slow car, all of them say it rides very well.

It's pretty to look at...but just that. Renault capture gets a pretty peppy 123bhp 1.2T engine, better boot space, shorter frame and cheaper than the rest you compared this too without sacrificing front and back room and a high seating position lol. 2nd imo is the ford EcoSport, but only because the boot opens like a door and the 1litre ecoboost, even with the better turbo still underpowered it a bit.

How does the hybrid system work when you accelerate? I've seen other reviews saying it's lackluster and too crude compared to Prius, that if you press the accelerator ever so slightly the engine kicks in rather jerky and loud? Plus the batteries don't last more than a rough mile or 1.5 kilometer...Is it true?

  • @nickjolly3984

I've test driven one and the transition between electric and petrol is seamless. The electric only range is very short but the way the drivetrain works can give exceptional urban MPG. Acceleration feels very smooth because there are no actual gears and takes a bit of getting used to. Some say that the engine feels disconnected from the speed of the car but my experience was that it's a very smooth and quiet car under normal driving.

You need to play more on the fact this hybrid is a Pruis in a fancy looking car !!! So let's see what you got mpg driving it ??? Also most familys only have a small commute to school... so this electric zero emissions is a massive plus...and in real world driving when does anyone get over 60mph in traffic these days?

Hybrids are ripoffs you need to change the battery every 8 years, and it costs a fortune !!! (Eventually, whatever you save in gas is gonna be spent on a battery) Diesel is definetly the way to go.

This is more like the suv of the prius 2016 - i had a prius 2016 and it was a disaster its lower wider and wont go anywhere than on a carpeted road without any bumpers (if u find such a road) , this suv is a disaster too i skipped this one and brought something else , for the price u pay the hybrid is 1.8 with no 4x4 or the 4x4 is with 1.2 turbo with no hybrid , back seat is a disaster and feels like ur inside a space shuttle not much room , i sold my prius in 5 months and only with 5000 km's ... if i brought the ch-r i would have done the same
