    Good point about the Ad blocking more bluffs than value! At this stack depth I would be very surprised if Nik wasn't raising every combo of Ax suited pre, so it should be something that translates quite well into practice.

    Revisiting this hand with SOAD instead of the table banter was a healing experience. Thank you. I think overplaying your hand here is a natural nervous system response to the noise, chaos and animosity in the room.

    If he is overbluffing to essentially any extent, in theory you should call virtually all bluffcatchers. But this assumes your opponent can't re-adjust to you overcalling, which, of course he can. So in practice, I personally just turn any bluffcatchers that I feel like could go either way into pure calls.

    Its a good combo to actually block bet river and fold to a raise. Then we can b/3b our nutflushes for balance obv.

    I prefer check call mode on the river. You're playing against an extremely wide range, you only have 1 pair and are put in a super tough spot if getting raised.

    Oh man…while there’s somehow mixed comments on the stream, I found the whole train wreck entertaining and locked in for the full ride. Outside of some mega nitty-ness, and blown away that some, such as seat 4, even got action, the stream was highly entertaining. Felt bad the ‘somehow’ Berkey was sandwiched but outside of that…highly entertaining from the ‘wtf is going on’ perspective

    CLEARLY, nik has changed his game over these last few months... he's become much tighter and selective now even though his range can be overly wide especially for a deep stack cash game. anyone that has watched the hustler game for a while can see this trend. I think at some point we're going to get a back story on his arse, and I dont think it's going to be pretty... unless hes the one that won the lottery from several months ago.

    @@TheTree1 I think Berkey has the edge on Airball in pretty much every type of field considering this poker beef situation that's going on, (poker strategy, mindset, community, self awareness etc etc) and yet comes across as a really shitty person as well. I think he has all the tools to being this "good for the poker world" type of guy but I feel he's not delivering on that at all. He keeps talking about self improvement and "the stuff that really matters" and yet seems to not follow up on any of those beliefs by trashing Nick and Doug as much as they are doing to him

    The "GTO only works against GTO" nonsense is getting kinda boring... The assumption that your opponent is playing the equivalent equilibrium strategy (also sometimes called "indifference principle" in game theory) is only a mathematical means of arriving at the solution - it's not actually a requirement for the equilibrium strategy to be unbeatable, quite the opposite. The entire point of GTO is that it works regardless of the opponent's strategy.

  • @pokersoftwarereviews5051

    @pokersoftwarereviews5051

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Cowtymsmiesznego Very true. At the same time, I'm under the impression that GTO is usually only slightly winning against most styles. Therefore, the moment there's any rake it becomes slightly losing against most styles. So you actually need to bring some exploitative corrections in to be profitable at most poker tables.

  • @Cowtymsmiesznego

    Жыл бұрын

    I don't think the "only slightly winning" theory is correct, but even if it is: Exploitative is a guessing game. There is not much space for objective analysis. Everybody is free to try and incorporate exploitative assumptions when they actually play, and indeed almost everybody does it. But you can't really make a video on it because you rarely have enough evidence that these assumptions are correct. And even if you do, it's not gonna be possible to fit it in a single hand analysis video. The way FE does it makes sense imo. He describes and explaines the theoretically correct line, and sometimes makes sidenotes about when the particular deviation might be a sensible adjustment.
