My daughter and I are young believers working through the Roman's bible study you have provided, it has given both of us so much understanding and the study has truly "laid out" the gospel for us. Balanced and deep theology teaching, teaching truth, is hard to find in these days. Thank you for your work, it's changing lives. God is good, I look forward to thanking you in person in the life after.

Kamillegrace you should read your bible more. You shouldn't have to come to another pastor's videos to get a feeling fix. The Word of God teaches us to get out our feelings.

Kamilkegrace, I know what you’re saying. I read my Bible daily. I sink myself in God’s Word. Everything that Mike preaches has been confirmed, from what I see, in God’s Word. When I find a preacher that completely lines up with God’s Word and there’s nothing in this world like an educational, and heart felt message that is felt deep down in your heart. I’m so thankful for obedient pastors like Bro Mike. I find myself searching through google & KZread for any message I haven’t seen or heard yet to get more biblical education that I completely trust.

You are awesome! Or shall I say... "God is awesome". Because I can really see God in you, I can tell for sure you have the Holy Spirit in you. I see more Christ in you than I see you. You are a true teatcher, like Jesus said in John 7:18: "Those who speak their own thoughts are looking for their own glory. But the man who wants to bring glory to the one who sent him is a true teacher and doesn’t have dishonest motives." (John 7:18 GW). God bless you and may He give you more revelations!

As a mature Christian (as well as person), a grandmother & mother, I want you to know that these teachings are SO NEEDED; Having led Bible Study home groups and seen many who have difficulty w/these concepts, mentoring individuals where people struggle because they’ve never been taught these basics, especially today, when many churches by-pass/gloss over the concept of sin. I will be referring others to your teachings, for sure. God BLESS you!

8:20 - I think this is more accurate: The believer's dead 'husband' to whom we once had to submit to in marital obedience was sinful flesh. The Law of Moses acted like a kind of marital contract that kept us in obedient submission to that husband (see Romans 7.8) and so we bore the fruit of that husband, the fruit of death - sin. But now that husband and master sinful flesh has died the Law no longer has the power to keep us in marital submission to him. We are now free to be in marital obedience and submission to new husband, Jesus, and bear fruit in His image-the fruit of righteousness.

Good afternoon Mike: I believe that when Christ said we have to be born of "water and of spirit", He is referring to the water of repentance; refer to Matthew 3:11 but really Acts 19:4. Because at that moment, of simultaneous belief and repentance- when Christ comes to dwell inside of you eternally - we are born again. This happens miraculously by God, but it's during the person's heart of (belief and) repentance (i think of it as the moment your heart's door was opened to God). But maybe it could mean physical birth at the same time....thoughts?

Also, with the surrounding verses, it seems that the point is the contrast between a physical (fleshly) birth and a spiritual birth. I think much of the text is saying that Israel is not automatically saved because they were born by Jewish blood, because that is what the Jews thought. It is stressing that one must be born of the Spirit, whether Jew or Gentile.

25:28 How in the world do I discern such a thing? Sometimes I genuinely want to do good and other times I feel like I have to really convince myself. I really don't understand how to evaluate myself in such a way. It's like I was in this super strict christian program for many months and at some point I started taking the rules very seriously and not complaining, but one day the leader said I needed a heart change because I thought a lot of the rules were absolutely ridiculous and I was annoyed by them (yet still obeying). Likewise, there are certainly some things in the bible that I feel grumble-y about but I don't CARE how I feel about it, I accept it as God's word. So what gives? Please help smh this is torturous wondering if I'm truly born again or not Please anybody reading this at least pray for me

I really like Mike's last point at 39:32 about how all sin is bad, so don't rationalize your sin. I think that is one surprising thing about witnessing to others, is one of the main things I have ran across is people view themselves as basically good because they aren't criminals, they are a hard working American, and they view their sin as like "it's not that bad, I am a law abiding citizen. You can't work your way to heaven like Mike says at 24:29 (Romans 3:23 says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." He also has a good analogy at 24:00 about how you break one of God's laws how that has already doomed you. Good stuff!

You did well on this one. If you could work on your preaching just a tiny bit. You kinda attack your audience. Don’t say some find it boring. Just make sure they know it’s profound. Don’t be overly positive just don’t be passive aggressive or directly aggressive. Give them the benefit of the doubt that they are all scholars and pull up the whole congregation. Be aggressive with sin and the gospel but just like Jesus. Not everybody is an online guru. Love you man

In the last 300 year or so, we have seen advances in medicine, technology, engineering, behavioral and social sciences -even in the humanities- that save lives, make life easier, facilitate communications, calculate the age of the Earth, and so on. This makes me wonder, what advances have theology and religious philosophy made about God and what benefits have we received from that new knowledge?

I think the term Mike Winger is thinking of is concordance. Concordance means to be in harmony with Con (with) - Cord as in musical cords. Is our world view in harmony the world view at time when the scripture was written by the authors? Probably not as we filter the ancient world through the lens of our modern world.

I love your teaching brother, but I think you missed it on this one. If the thing that dies is the law then the analogy is really inconsistent. In the case of the man and the woman the law doesn't die It's the man that dies. Plus The Bible never says that the law dies, it says that we die and so it no longer has jurisdiction over us. The whole last chapter talks about how the thing that was put to death was our flesh. We were inextricably tied (married) to our Sinful Flash through the law which condems us for our sin, which made it impossible for us to be joined to the holy Christ. But when our flesh was put to death the law no longer had the power to keep us from being rightly Joined to Christ.

That’s exactly what he said, rewatch and pay close attention. Don’t try to find inconsistencies or break things apart until it’s finished. He was comparing the wife and husband passage to our marriage to sin which brings condemnation from the law.

I wonder if the part where mike talks about an age of awareness and the law comes alive and kills Paul metaphorically/spiritually is actually when he met Christ on the road and the three days blind. The law he knew so well suddenly made sense and showed him how sinful he really was. It could be both too with the seeming to support infants being with God in heaven

Romans 7 explained : (1.) The woman is Israel and the husband is the mediator/protector/HUSBAND , for the people ( Israel ) , in the covenant with the Father . (2.) The Israelites who refused to live by faith ( That is repenting of their sins with a sorrowful heart , like king David did ; then believing by keeping the commandments of their mediator Moses ; which he received from the Father ; which is the law of faith ) , these fell under their mediator Moses protection ; under the sin sacrifice of atonement ; which the Father gave through a priesthood , the law of animal sacrifice ; which is the law of works . (3.) So then if , while her husband Moses liveth , she be married to another man , she shall be called an adulteress ; but if her husband ( Moses ) be dead ( Hebrews 7:11-12 ) , she is free from that law ; so that she is no adulteress , though she be married to another man ( Jesus Christ ) . (4.) Wherefore , my brethren , ye also are become dead to the law ( animal sacrifice and oblations for atonement ) by the body of Christ ( repenting of your sins , and believing by obedience , the law of faith ) , even to him who is raised from the dead , that we should bring forth unto God ( 1 John 1:5-7 ) . (5.) For when we were in the flesh ( law of works , or law of animal sacrifice , or circumcision of flesh for sin through the priesthood of Leviticus ) , the motions of sins ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgression of the law of God ) , which were by the law ( Hebrews 10:1-4 , or law of animal sacrifice ) , did work in our members ( flesh ) to bring forth fruit unto death . (6.) But now we are delivered from the law ( law of works , or law of animal sacrifice ; which was also called the law of sin and death ) , that being dead wherein we were held ; that we should serve in newness of spirit ( Romans 2:13 , " 13.For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. ) . Moses gave the people the law of the Father on two tablets of stone , and written in ink , but they did not believe ( 2 Corinthians 3:1-18 ) .

. (7.) What shall we say then ? Is the law ( law of animal sacrifice ) sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgression of the law of God ) ? God forbid . Nay , I had not known sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgression of the law of God ) , but by the law ( law of animal sacrifice ) : for I had not known lust , except the law ( law of animal sacrifice or the law of sin and death ) had said , Thou shalt not covet ( Romans 3:20 , Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight : for by the law is the knowledge of sin ; Hebrews 10:1-4 , " 1. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. 2. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. 4. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. ) . (8.) But sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgressions of the law of God ) , taking occasion by the commandment ( law of animal sacrifice , or another name is ; the law of sin and death ) wrought in me all manner of concupiscence ( Romans 5:20 , " Moreover the law entered , that the offence might abound . But where sin abounded , grace did much more abound " ) . For without the law ( law of animal sacrifice , or law of sin and death ) sin ( 1 Joh 3:4 , the transgressions of the law of God ) was dead ( Romans 5:13, " For until the law ( law off animal sacrifice ) sin ( the transgression of the law of God ) was in the world ( which entered into the world when Adam transgressed against the law of God ) : but sin ( the transgression of the law of God ) is not imputed ( represents something undersirable as been done , caused or possessed by someone ) when there is no law ( law of animal sacrifice , or law of sin and death ) . What Paul is saying : Before the law of animal sacrifice was given through the mediator Moses for the sin of the flesh/body , the God of Israel required all to repent with a sorrowful heart , like king David did , through faith ; remember , grace by faith ; the priesthood of faith ( Melchisedec ) has always been available from the beginning , for the one'swho live by faith . There is no grace or mercy through the law of animal sacrifice ,and some transgressions against the laws of the Father , there were no sacrifice to protect the flesh/body ( man picking up sticks on the sabbath day ) . ( 9.) For I was alive without the law once : ( law of animal sacrifice , or schoolmaster ) but when the commandment came ( law of animal sacrifice , or law of sin and death ) , sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgressions of the law of God ) revived , and I died ( Ezekiel 20:24-25 , " Because they had not executed my judgments , but had despised my statutes , and had polluted my sabbaths , and their eyes were after their father's idols . Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good , and judgments whereby they should not live " ) . And the commandment ( circumcision of the flesh/body for sin , or the law of animal sacrifice ) which was ordained to life ( keep the earthly tabernacle or body alive ) , I found to be unto death ( law of animal sacrifice could not forgive you of the heart/spirit , or the second tabernacle , or the second death ) . ( 10.) For sin ( 1 John 3:4 ,the transgressions of the law of God ) taking occasion by the commandment ( law of animal sacrifice , or the law of sin and death ) , deceived me , and slew me ( most of Israel believed that salvation came through the law of animal sacrifice , or the law of works , or another name was the law of Moses ; because Moses was the intercessor , or husband for the people under the covenant with the Father , through the priehood of Leviticus ) . (11.) Wherefore the law ( animal sacrifice and oblations , or law of works ) is holy , and the commandments ( schoolmaster , or animal sacrifice ) holy , and just and good . ( 12.) Was then that which is good ( law of animal sacrifice or circumcision of flesh for sin ) made death unto me ( this sacrifice or atonement was for the earthly tabernacle , not th heavenly tabernacle ) ? God forbid . But sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgressions of the law of God ) , that it might appear sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgressions of the law of God ) ,working death in me by that which is good ( Hebrews 10:4 , " For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins " ; which the law of animal sacrifice was also called the law of sin and death . Once you transgress the laws of God , your circumcision is made uncircumcision , Romans 2:25 ) ; that sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgressions of the laws of God ) by thecommandment ( law of animal sacrifice ) might become exceeding sinful ( Romans 5:20 ) . ( 13.) For we know that the law ( law of animal sacrifice ) is spiritual : but I am carnal sold under sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgressions of the law of God ) . For that which I do I allow not :for what I would , that do I not ; but what I hate , that do I ( What Paul is saying , when he should keep the laws of God , that he do not ; when he go through the law of animal sacrifice for the atonement of sin , that he should not do ; but what he hate ( law of animal sacrifice ) , that do I . ( 14.) If then I do that which I would not ( make an atonement through the law of animal sacrifice ) , I consent unto the law ( law of animal sacrifice ) that it is good ( which was only for the atonement of the flesh/body , not the heart/spirit ) . ( 15.) Now then it is no more I that do it , but sin ( 1 John 3:4 , the transgressions of the law of God ) that dwelleth in me . For I know that in me ( that is in my flesh ) dwelleth no good thing ( the circumcision of flesh for sin ) : for to will is present with me ; but how to perform that which is good I find not . ( 16.) For the good that I would I do not ( repenting by faith , the law of Christ ) : but the evil which I would not , that I do ( atonement through the law of works , or animal sacrifice ) . ( 17.) Now if I do that I would not ( atonement through the law of animal sacrifice ) , it is no more I that do it , but sin ( 1 John 3:4 , transgressions of the law of God ) that dwelleth in me ( law of animal sacrifice could not forgive you of the sins of the heart/spirit , because it was not of faith ) . ( 18.) I find the a law ( law of animal sacrifice , or law of sin and death ) , that , when I would do good ( go through the law of animal sacrifice for the atonement ) , evil is present with me ( law of works could not free you of the sins of the heart/spirit ) . ( 19.) For I delight in the law of GOD after the inward man ( law of faith , circumcision of the heart for sin ; which means that you repent of your sins with a sorrowful heart , then believe by obeying your mediator Jesus Christ commandments ; which he received from the Father ) . ( 20.) But I see another law in my members , ( law of animal sacrifice ; which the Israel continued to use for the cleaning of the body , not for SIN ; that became unclean due to touching a dead body , etc... ) , warring against the law of the mind ( circumcision of the heart/spirit for sin , or the law of Christ , or the law of grace , or the law of liberty , or the law of righteousness , or the law of faith , etc... ) , and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin ( law of animal sacrifice , or the law of sin and death ) which is in my members . ( 21.) O wretched man that I am who shall deliever me from the body of this death ( law of animal sacrifice , or the law of sin and death ) ? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord ( circumcision of the heart for sin ) . So then with the mind ( The atonement of faith through Jesus Christ ) I myself serve the law of God (The commandments of the Father ; which includes all the covenants ; which are instructions to righteousness ) ; but with the flesh the law of sin ( the law of animal sacrifice for the cleaning of the flesh/body , when it become's unclean ) . When we use the word law , understand that the bible talks of three types of laws ( 1.) Laws of the Father ; which are his commandments/laws/instructions , that includes all the covenans thathe has given man from the beginning ( Adam ) to the end of the creation ( white ; throne judgment ; these are instructions for righteousness ( 2 Timothy 3:14-17 ) ; (2.) The law for the atonement of sin of the flesh/body , through the mediator Moses ; which was called the law of animal sacrifice and oblations through works , not of faith or the inward man ; (3.) . Who was Paul ( Romans 11:1 , " I say then , Hath God cast away his people ? God forbid . For I also am an Israelite , of the seed of Abraham , of the tribe of Benjamin " ) ? Paul is an Israelite ; and the Israelites are the only nation under the laws of the Father , because they are the only nation to have made a covenant with him . The Gentiles are grafted into the covenant of Israel . Because the children of Israel were breaking his covenant without repenting by faith , like king David did ; in order to not kill their flesh/body , he gave to them through their mediator/HUSBAND , Moses , the sin atonement for the flesh , or the law of animal sacrifice and oblations , under the priesthood of Leviticus . This atonement for sin was not of faith , but of works ; which cleans the flesh/body , but not the heart/spirit . To be a Son of the Father , you must live by faith ; which is the atonement through the mediator Jesus Christ , under the priesthood of Melchisedec : repenting of your sins with a sorrowful heart , then believing by obedience ; which means to start keeping the commandments of your mediator Jesus ; which he received from the Father . Grace by faith was always available for ALL MEN ,from the beginning ( Adam ) ; the Priesthood of Melchisedec has been around since the beginning of the creation . Over the centuries , the Israelites lost their way , that is while the prophet Moses told them ( Deuteronomy 18:15-19 ) , even before they entered the land of Israel , that the LORD thy God would raise up unto them a prophet ,from the midst of thy brethren , like unto him ; And he would put in that prophet mouth all the things that the people desired at Horeb , or Mount Sinai ; Which is the ten commandments , that the God of Israel spoke to them , and all the statutes , judgments and covenants that Moses would speak to them of , because the people were afraid to hear it from God , lest we die . Paul started by saying : " I SPEAK TO THEM THAT KNOW THE LAW " ; that would be Israelites .Paul spoke to Israelites and Gentiles together , in most cities he ministered . This is an allegory of the sin sacrifice laws through the two mediators ; which Moses was the husband under the covenant between the Father and the children of Israel at Mount Sinai , and Jesus Christ became the husband of the covenant between the Father and the children of Israel , after he was resurrected , and appeared before the Father in heaven for our sins . The sin sacrifice of atonement went through the mediators , under a priesthood ( blood of the animals and oblations , through works , under the priesthood of Leviticus through Moses , and blood of Christ , through faith , underthe priesthood of Melchisedec , through Jesus Christ ) . Jesus Christ has redeemed them from their former husband Moses and the law of animal sacrifice . Most of the nation of Israel did not believe that Jesus was that atonement for sin to bless all nations , so they continued in the first atonement ( blood of the animals and oblations ) . Paul did not believe at first , he persecuted the followers of Jesus Christ , and continued in the atonement of the blood of the animal for sin ; which could only clean the flesh/body , not the heart/spirit . In this allegory , Paul is talking about three types of laws that is spoken of throughout the bible : (1.) The laws of the Father ; which are hs laws/commandments/instructions ; which includes all the covenants ; these are instructions for righteousness ; from the first commandment he gave man , to the end of the creation . (2.) The sin sacrifice law of atonement for the flesh/body , through the mediator Moses ; the law of animal sacrifice of works . (3.) The sin sacrifice law of atonement for the heart/spirit , through the mediator Jesus Christ , the blood of Christ through faith . The sin sacrifice of atonement for the flesh/body had many names ( law of animal sacrifice and oblations ,or the law of sin and death , or the law of works , of the circumcision of flesh for sin , or the schoolmaster , or the whole law , or the law of Moses , because it came through the mediator Moses , who was the protection/covering /husband , for the people ) . The sin sacrifice of atonement for the heart/spirit hadmany names ( law of faith , law of liberty , circumcision of heart/spirit for sin , law of righteousness , law of grace , or law of Christ , because itcamethrough the mediator Jesus Christ , who was the protector/covering/husband , for the people ) . Most of times in Romans 7 , Paul is talking about the law of animal sacrifice , when he say ( law ,commandment , flesh ,letter ,carnal ) . Most of the times in Rmans 7 , Paul is talking about the blood of Christ through faith , when he say ( newness of spirit , inward man , law of my mind ) . Most of the times in Romans 7 , Paul is talking about the laws of the Father , when he say ( sin , law of God ) . The apostle Peter said that some of Paul's writings and other scriptures are sometimes hard to be understood . Hope this help ? Shalom !

waaaaait, so if you're a baby in the womb and you don't actually get to birth because your mom decides to abort you or if the mother experiences a miscarriage, does that mean the baby can't enter the Kingdom of God? I've always wondered what that verse means and I don't really have a set opinion yet, but somehow that doesn't sit right with me.. any thoughts?

If Paul wrote Romans 7 showing a Christian's battle with sin, then the "law of the spirit of life in Christ" had NOT set him free from the "law of sin and death"! Rather, not being under the law but grace sets us free.

Who is calling people to be Christian today? Zechariah 8:23 This is what Jehovah of armies says, ‘In those days ten men out of all the languages of the nations will take hold, yes, they will take firm hold of the robe of a Jew, saying: “We want to go with you, for we have heard that God is with you people.

But Mike, what about Romans 1. It says even without the law we know good and bad, God wrote it on our hearts. What about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil Mike? We already knew. Therefore, if we already knew, how can the law show us further or add to our transgression?

At 18:14, I believe that when we were sinners (enemies of God), the law aroused our passions because we were truly rebellious to God. Whether actively going against what God wants or being passively indifferent to Him all stems from rebelliousness because we were self-centered instead of God-centered.

(6.) But now we are delivered from the law ( law of works , or law of animal sacrifice ; which was also called the law of sin and death ) , that being dead wherein we were held ; that we should serve in newness of spirit ( circumcised of heart for sin ) , and not in the oldness of the letter ( law of works , or circumcision of flesh for sin , through the priests , in the book of Leviticus ) .

When we use the word law , understand that the bible talks of three types of laws ( 1.) Laws of the Father ; which are his commandments/laws/instructions , that includes all the covenans thathe has given man from the beginning ( Adam ) to the end of the creation ( white ; throne judgment ; these are instructions for righteousness ( 2 Timothy 3:14-17 ) ; (2.) The law for the atonement of sin of the flesh/body , through the mediator Moses ; which was called the law of animal sacrifice and oblations through works , not of faith or the inward man ; (3.) The law for the atonement of sin of the heart/spirit , through the mediator Jesus Christ ; which was called the law of faith ; the blood of Christ through faith ; which is to repent of your sins with a sorrowful heart , then believe by keeping the commandments of your mediator Jesus Christ ; which he received from the Father . @@juliorivera870 Just because people put scriptures as what we call the old testament , and gospel as the new testament ; they are the same ; the words of The Most High God , the Father ( Hebrews 1:1-3 ; Hebrews 4:1-2 ) . People error because they are not equipped with the one thing that God say we must have , FAITH . People think that when Jesus came through the flesh ; died and was resurrected ; appeared before the Father for our sins ; that the forgiveness for sin started at that point ; but they are 100 % wrong . Question , Did Abraham , Isaac , Jacob , David , etc ....... live and die before Jesus Christ came in the flesh ? If the answer is yes , how were they justified from sin ? These men wll be in the kingdom of God . The apostle Paul stated in Romans 3:23 , " For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God " ; So how can anyone before Jesus resurrection and appearing before the Father for our sins be justified ? In Romans 6:23 , " For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " . Jesus is the atonement for our sins , but most people do not realize , that this represents TWO TYPE OF SINS ; the sin of the first death that Adam put ALL of us under , the grave ; which is the free gift , nothing is required , even if you do not believe in Jesus . By sinning against the laws of God , Adam condemned the entire creation back to the dust of the ground ; for all have sinned and come shot of the glory of God . By living a righteous life , unblemlish without sin , Jesus was not worthy to die as we are ; so he died not for himself , but for ALL who have transgressed the laws of the Father ; which is given to ALL who have ever lived ; that how he defeated death , by overcoming sin . By defeating sin ; which brings on death , now ALL will be resurrected from their first tabernacle ( body ) , and live forever in their second tabernacle ( body ) ; but can we dwell with the Father , if we die in our first tabernacle in sin ? 1 John 1:5-7 , " This then is the message which we have heard of him , and declare unto you , that God is light , and in him is no darkness at all . If we say that we have fellowship with him , and walk in darkness , we lie , and do not the truth : But if we walk in the light , we have fellowship one with another , and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL SINS " . The free gift redeems you from the sins of the first death , the grave , but to dwell with the Father in his kingdom , something else is required . This is what Jesus Christ said , as he started his ministry in Mark 1:14-15 , " Now after that John was put in prison , Jesus came preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God , And saying , The time is fulfilled , and the kingdom of God is at hand :REPENT YE , AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL " . The God of Israel has always required that you repent of your sins with a sorrowful heart ( like king David did in Psalm 32 & 51 ) ; and believe by obedience ; which means to start keeping his laws/commandments/instructions ; which includes all covenants ; that's how you have faith with him , by obedience . The gospel that Jesus taught are the same words that Moses & the prophets gave in the scriptures ( Hebrews 1:1-3 ) ; which are the words of the Father . Remember what Moses said to the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 , " The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee , of thy brethren , like unto me ; unto him ye shall hearken ; ACCORDING TO ALL THAT THOU DESIREDST OF THE LORD THY GOD IN HOREB IN THE DAY OF THE ASSEMBLY , SAYING , LET ME NOT HEAR AGAIN THE VOICE OF THE LORD MY GOD , NEITHER LET ME SEE THIS GREAT FIRE ANYMORE , THAT I DIE NOT . And the LORD said unto me , They have well spoken thatwhich they have spoken . I WILL RAISE THEM UP A PROPHET FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN , LIKE UNTO THEE , AND WILL PUT MY WORDS IN HIS MOUTH ; AND HE SHALL SPEAK UNTO THEM ALL THAT I SHALL COMMAND HIM . AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS , THAT WHOSOEVER WILL NOT HEARKEN UNTO MY WORDS WHICH HE SHALL SPEAK IN MY NAME , I WILL REQUIRE IT OF HIM " . Question , What did the children of Israel desire at Horeb or Mount Sinai ? Answer , the ten commandments that the God of Israel spoke to them ; and all of the other statutes and judgemets ; which includes the covenants , that they were afraid to hear from God , but would hear through Moses . Jesus Christ himself said that he came not to do his own will , but the will of the one who sent him . In John 12:44-50 , Jesus said that if you do not believe the words that he speak unto you , the same words will judge you on the last day ; which is the white throne judgement ; because he speak the words of the Father . The second sin that the blood of Jesus cleaneth you from requires repentance and faith ; which means to believe by obedience ; this redeems you from the second death ; which is the lake of fire . By redeeming you fromthe first death of the grave with the free gift , now your tabernacle , or body from heaven ( 1 Corinthians 15:35-38,42-51 ) is in danger of the lake of fire ; because you cannot dwell with the Father in darkness ( sin ) . Before the children of Israel were given the law of animal sacrifice for the first tabernacle or body , the God of Israel required all men to live by faith ( repenting of their sins with a sorrowful heart ( mind ) and start walking in the light ) ; Why does Proverbs24:16 say this : Proverbs 24:16 , " For a just man falleth seven times , and riseth up again : but the wicked shall fall into mischief " ? Answer , if a just man falleth seven times , then he is redeemed seven times by repenting and believing like king David ; remember this was long before Jesus came in the flesh . For the atonement of sin , it requires a sacrifice ; a sacrifice through a priesthood . What priesthood was around at the time of Abraham ? Answer , The priesthood of Melchisedec . How was Melchisedec identified in Hebrews 7 ? ( King of Righteousness , King of Salem , King of peace , without father , without mother , without descent , having neither beginning of days , nor end of life ; but made like unto the Son of God ; abideth a priest continually ) . Now , who does this look like ? ( Micah 5:1-2 , Luke 1:26-33 , Romans 10:4 , Romans 1:1-4 ) . Remember the Word created the heavens and the earth , and all things that is ; and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us . What did Jesus say in John 5:37 ? ( John 5:37 , " And the Father himself , which hath sent me , hath borne witness of me . Ye have neither heard his voice at any time , nor seen his shape " ) ; which means that the one most call Yahweh , or Jehovah , or I AM , or God Almighty , or The God of Abraham , Isaac , and Jacob , and Melchisedec ; is none other then the one who came in the Father's name in John 5:43 . The one we call Jesus Christ created us , and has been interceding for us as high priest from the beginning of the creation ( Melchisedec at the time of Abraham ) , until it is completed ( Jesus Christ now ) ; which is the white throne judgement . The apostle Paul explains this ( Romans 5:13-14 , " For until the law sin was in the world : but sin is not imputed when there is no law . Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses , even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression , who is the figure of him that was to come " ) . What is sin ? Answer , the transgression of the law of God ( 1 John3:4 ) . Paul stated that until the law ( what law ? ) , sin ; which is the transgression of the law of God was in the world , but sin ; which is the transgression of the law of God is not imputed ( represents something undersirable as been done , caused , or possesed by someone ) when there is no law . This law is not the commandments/instructions of God ; which includes all the covenants , but a sin sacrifice law that came at the time of Moses ; the law of animal sacrifice of works ; which was not of faith ( Romans 3:27-28 ) . Once you fell under this law , which was written in the book of the law of the priesthood , under the mediator Moses ( Leviticus ) ; it had to be carried out , just as it is written ; no grace or mercy . When the children of Israel went into a covenant with the Father in the wilderness , all their sins were forgiven ; the only thing that they waited on was the promise to redeem ALL MEN from the sins of the first death , the grave . When the children of Israel begin to break the laws of the Father and not repent by faith ; he gave to them , through their mediator Moses , the law of animal sacrifice for the body , of the earthly tabernacle ; to keep from killing their flesh , hoping that their would rethink themselves and repent by faith , before they die ; or they would die in their sins . Shalom !

In John 3 the "born of water" does not have anything to do with natural birth. Everyone Jesus spoke with had already been naturally born so for Him to say you need a natural birth would be pointless. "Born out of water" is water baptism. The Spirit is involved in water baptism in delivering us from slavery to sin - so water baptism is part of spiritual rebirth. If you see my comment on Rom 6 I point out that water baptism is supernatural as implied in the language used in Rom 6 and Col 2:11,12.

Rom 7:1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? Rom 7:2 For the woman (The Believer) which hath an husband (Sin) is bound by the law to her husband so long as he (Sin) liveth; but if the husband (Sin) be dead, she (The Believer) is loosed from the law of her husband (Sin). Rom 7:3 So then if, while her husband (Sin) liveth, she (The Believer) be married to another man (Jesus), she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband (Sin) be dead, she (The Believer) is free from that law (Law of sin and death); so that she (The Believer) is no adulteress, though she be married to another man (Jesus). Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law (The Law of Sin) by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another (Jesus), even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God (Obedience to the Law). Rom 7:5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death (Law of Sin and death). Rom 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law (Law of Sin and Death), that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit (Law of God through the teachings of Jesus), and not in the oldness of the letter (Without understanding). Rom 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. Rom 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead (Without knowing the law you can’t know sin). Rom 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived (Sin came alive unto us after we became aware of the law), and I died (This is the law of sin and death). Rom 7:10 And the commandment (The Law), which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death (Again the law of sin and death, and the reason we all need a Savior). Rom 7:11 For sin (Deception of sin, and not the law), taking occasion by the commandment (The Law), deceived me, and by it slew me (Unable to perfectly keep the law, and again a reason why we need a Savior). Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Rom 7:13 Was then that which is good (The Law) made death (The Law) unto me? God forbid. But sin (Sin should be made death unto us), that it might appear sin, working death in me (Alive unto the law of God) by that which is good (The Law); that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual (Can only be accomplished in us by His Spirit): but I am carnal, sold under sin. Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I (Again, the whole reason why we need a Savior). Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not (Which is to obey the law of God), I consent unto the law that it is good. Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not (Can only be accomplished by His Spirit). Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. Rom 7:21 I find then a law (Law of sin and death), that, when I would do good (Obey God’s law), evil is present with me (Still in the flesh, and needing a Savior). Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God (His Spirit in me) after the inward man: Rom 7:23 But I see another law (God’s law) in my members, warring against the law (Law of sin and death) of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members (Our flesh). Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind (My understanding) I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Psa 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. Psa 19:8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. Psa 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. Psa 19:10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Psa 19:11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

“Our dead husband is the law?” (8:20). But the contract is not the husband. The contract is finished because the husband died; they are not the same thing… so, who was the husband? And whose husband was he? And were Gentiles ever married to the law, or under that contract?

The husband was/is Jesus. When Paul says he is speaking to those that know the law, we should probably search out the law he's talking about. It would probably be good to look at other mentions of that law too. Deut. 24 gives the law. Jer. 3 talks about the House of Israel being divorced, and the chapter begins with that law. In Romans 7, Paul says: Romans 7:2-3 [2]For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. [3]So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. In verse 2 it says the woman is freed from the law of the husband (single law). In verse 3, he says she is free from "that" law. (Again a single law). If you read Hosea, this is what the whole book is about. I will have no mercy because you are not my people, and I am not your God. It goes on to say that that will be corrected. Romans 7 tells us how. Peter and Paul gives us titles that were given to Israel. 1 Peter 2:9-10 [9]But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: [10]Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Romans 9:24-26 [24]Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? [25]As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. [26]And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. Titus 2:12-15 [12]Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [13]Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; [14]Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. [15]These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. Mr. Winger talked about the foundation, but then skipped over Paul saying that he isn't talking to you unless you know the law. Jesus' death was the only way for the House of Israel to return to the husband of her youth.

@@AProdigalSonReturned Thank you. I’m interested in your opinion regarding who the husband was that died. It can’t have been the contract which that husband had when he was alive. He dies and she is released from his contract, so he is not the contract, he is its author.

@@JohnCahillChapel The contract was the covenant which the House of Israel broke and was divorced by the husband (God/Jesus). The House of Judah was not divorced but became widowed upon the death of the Messiah/husband. Now both Houses come into the New Covenant in the same way. I believe gentiles are adopted into the House of Israel (not replacing Judah) as per Ephesians 2, Romans 11, and many other books/verses. I do not believe the requirements for covenant have changed, but the promises from the husband are better this time around.

That's a good example. I think it goes back to the biblical definition of grace, Titus 2. Grace buys us the time to learn how to obey. That the record of debt expressed in ordinances was nailed to the cross. So that we are now free to serve in the new living way of the spirit of the law, to love God and people. That seems to be the balance between legalism and lawlessness. To believe in Jesus and love others just as he loved us.:)

This is what borne of the water ,and borne of the spirit means . Who was Jesus talking to ? Answer , Nicodemus , an adult man ; So he was already borne of a woman , one birth . Jesus told Nicodemus of two births ; so if Nicodemus was already borne of a woman , and Jesus spoke of two births , then we are talking about three births ; so Mike has a problem when he stated that Jesus was only talking about borne of a woman and spiritual birth ; which is that new borne again thing . This is what borne of the water means : Mark 1:14-15 , " Now after that John was put in prison , Jesus came into Galilee , preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God , And saying , The time is fulfilled , and the kingdom of God is at hand : REPENT YE , AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL " . When will the kingdom of God ( Father ) come ? After the white throne judgment .What does it means to repent ? Answer , Psalm 32 & 51 , the example of a man after God's own heart ( mind ) king David ; please read these Psalms . What is the gospel ? Answer , the words that the Father will put in that Prophet mouth , that Moses spoke of in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 ; the same words that the children of Israel desired at Horeb or Mount Sinai . Question , how do you believe the gospel ? Answer , Genesis 26:5 , " Because that Abraham obeyed my voice , and kept my charge , my commandments , my statutes , and my laws " . Question , will we live with the Father , if we die in our sins ? Answer , 1 John 1:5-7 , " This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin " ; So , we have to be clean of our sins to become a Son of the Father . This is what Jesus said about being clean of our sins . John 15: , " Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you " . When we put all of these precepts together , we understand that to be borne of the water is repenting of your sins with a sorrowful heart , then believing by obedience ; which means to keep the commandments of your mediator Jesus Christ ; which he received from the Father ; which are his laws/commandments ;which includes all covenants ; these are instructions to righteousness . To be borne of the spirit means : John 3:8 , " The wind bloweth where it listeth , and thou hearest the sound thereof , but canst not tell whence it cometh , and whither it goeth : so is every one that is borne of the Spirit " ; also 1 Corinthians 15:49-52 , " And as we have borne the image of the earthy , we shall also bear the image of the heavenly . Now this I say , brethren , that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God : neither doth corruption inherit incorruption . Behold , I shew you a mystery ; We shall not all sleep , BUT WE SHALL ALL BE CHANGED , In a moment , in the twinkling of an eye , at the last trump : for the trumpet shall sound , and the dead shall be raised incorruptible , and we shall be changed " . When we put these precepts together , we understand that to be borne of the Spirit is , when the one's dead are resurrected from the grave , and the one's alive changed . Remember , when the Father's kingdom come , there will no longer be flesh and blood man , but Sons of God . Shalom !

The woman is the soul. The husband is the flesh. The husband is bound to the law. The flesh is not freed from the law. This is why Paul stresses this, " don't you know that those of you who have been baptized, have bern baptized into His death." Meaning that when you die your sinful flesh will be placed into His sacrifice. I am crucified with Christ! Further in the chapter, Paul explains he attempted to do do the law and he died (spritually). This man really doesn't understand scripture. Sorry.
