    Nice truck!! I heard you mention a little bit of rust on the Airstream. One thing I can suggest if it’ll help is to look into having a auto detailer ceramic coat your truck and trailer it’ll protect both from the elements and water will bead up and fall right off no problem no rust and protection from snow, mud, road grime, and any liquid elements at all it’s amazing!!

    I would throw a floor Jack in the back of your truck bed. If you have a flat with all the stuff packed in your truck the floor Jack is incredibly easy and quick to use.

    Hate to burst your bubble, but most Craftsman tools are no longer US made. On a more useful note, we have a F450 for towing a 5vr toyhauler. We've had 3 incidents requiring being stopped of the side of I26. I had one Hi-Vis vest, but bought a 2nd one for my wife. Drivers rarely slow down for disabled vehicles, so anything you can do to be seen is a good thing.

  • @dscluchfc
    @dscluchfc3 жыл бұрын

    The ease of towing in the mountains is 90% diesel, and 10% 3/4 ton truck. Your mileage towing with the diesel is likely in the 12-16 mpg range depending on conditions, and if it was a gasser would likely be in the 6-10 mpg range. I have done both. After buying my Duramax, I won't ever tow with a gasser again. The other thing you get with the diesel truck is heavy duty everything. The axles, the bearings, the brake rotors, the brake pads, and all the rest. I drove a 2002 Duramax 402K miles and never had to do a brake job on it. Also, the diesel truck will weight more by over 1000 lbs than the F250 gasser. There is just no substitute for a diesel when towing. I have a moonroof in my Duramax now. I had it Limo Tinted because it let too much of the Texas sun beat down into the truck. Huge difference in lowering the inside cab temp with the Limo Tint in place. My generator is a Westinghouse 4500 Dual Fuel that I run on propane. No messy gas can to haul around for me. And the only thing bad about collapsible ladders, is they sometimes do at the wrong time.

    Hi, Mike! This is the one we have on the truck. It has tracks for mounts you can buy to keep the bikes up there. Since we don't yet have bikes I haven't ordered them yet, but we plan on getting bikes soon. There's a few different manufacturers that make the bike attachment too. The funny thing, is that I haven't looked at it online in a while. It looks like they have a remote version now. 🤯 I don't know if that's a good thing, or bad thing. Very interesting! www.amazon.com/dp/B07GDB6CNN?ref=exp_wanderlocal_dp_vv_d

    Great videos. Question about your F250 Diesel. Maybe the Audio just doesn’t pick it up but your truck doesn’t sound very loud. I have a 2022 F250 Diesel and maybe I’m just not used to it but it seems so loud. I feel like I’m driving an old school bus. Once it gets up to speed it’s not as noticeable but starting from a stand still it’s very loud. Is your like that?

    Great video on how you organized your truck. Simple question why aren't you using your sewer hose tube under your trailer instead of putting ithe hose in a tub?

  • @Wanderlocal

    @Wanderlocal

    3 жыл бұрын

    Edward, we have two 10 ft interlocking hoses. One time I (Daniel) put them in the hose tube under the Airstream and it came unlocked. 😱It took me forever to get it out, not to mention it was gross. 🤣Since then, I started putting it in the dirty bin that I already had for Magnum PIG, sewer wrenches, caps, etc.

    TAIL WAGGING THE DOG IF SCARY. REAL SCARY. ONCE THE WAGGING STARTS IT ONLY GETS WORSE UNTIL THE WAGGING STOPS. AND THAT'S USUALLY A CRASH. WHEN THE WAGGING STARTS YOU'LL SEE IT IN THE MIRRORS BEFORE YOU FEEL IT IN THE SEAT. MASH THE GAS/ACCELERATOR/POWER PEDAL (WHATEVER YOU CALL IT). THE TRUCK WILL PULL THE TRAILER BACK IN LINE BEHIND THE TRUCK. AND IF YOU CAN, WITHOUT PANICKING AND GETTING EVERYTHING ALL CATYWOMPUS, SLOWLY APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL. AND DO NOT LET OFF THE POWER. HOPE THIS HELPS. SAVED ME A FEW TIMES

    Question, with all that you pack in the truck, coupled with the weight of the Airstream did you add airbags to the rear suspension?

  • @Wanderlocal

    Brian, great question! We have not added airbags. I try to keep the heaviest of object in the truck bed located toward the cabin e.x.: generators, fuel cans, tools. After driving over 30k miles we've had zero issues without having airbags. Daniel

    I don’t know who’s doing the video editing but PLEASE lower the audio levels on the music in your videos. Oftentimes I listen to the audio when I’m out and about while using Airpods, and if I adjust the volume on my device to hear your voices perfectly, every time the music comes on I’m about to blow my ear drums, and if I adjust it to hear the music at a good level, your voices are barely audible… So either raise your levels on your voices, or lower the levels on your music. Thanks! Other than that, keep up the great work!

    I do have a quick question, does that truck topper leak when it rains? Thanks Again

  • @Wanderlocal

    @Wanderlocal

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi, Larry! It stays surprisingly dry under there, but I do keep things in bins just in case. It comes with two small tubes under the canister for the water run off that slides into a slot where it drains below the bed of the truck. They look like two black caps that easily pop off. It took me 2-4 hours to install this, and once installed there's not much else to do.

I did search online and the numbers are all over the place. From 2100 to 3100. Mostly around 2700. I try to get the f-150 powerboost with the 7.2k generator but the payload was around 1300-1600.
