    @@anthonylicwinko9142 Yup! Our AC unit is placed low within the shell. We do this to maximize aerodynamics and make towing easy, but just as important, we do it because it gives you a higher quality and quantity of cool air than a rooftop mounted unit ever could. It's also vented and has adjustable vents located throughout the RV. It’s designed to blow and circulate cool air in a much more efficient way than a traditional ducted AC unit, making it feel cooler in a Bowlus faster than it would in any other RV.

    We saw a new Bowlus recently and, as expected, it was hooked up to power and water like we would expect almost all units will be despite their capabilities. Personally, we would buy an Airstream and bank the surplus $150,000 for any work. Questions remain: Do they have an awning? Does the clear coat need polishing? Is there only one propane tank? What is the exterior storage? What are the tank capacities? (off grid is never about power - it's about fresh/black/grey tankage). The fridge is super small to be off grid for any duration.

  • @Bowlus

    @Bowlus

    4 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the questions LuvSubbin. The Bowlus is uniquely capable of powering all appliances, including the air conditioning and the glycol heating system, off-grid. That's one of the main reasons our owners choose a Bowlus over a traditional unit that requires hookups to run those energy intensive systems. Awning - Yes, the Bowlus features an awning that attaches to either side of the unit. Clear coat - the Bowlus does not have a clear coat like an Airstream. Instead, we polish the 2024 t3 aluminum to a mirror finish and then add another layer of protection (proprietary). But by not clear coating it, you can easily re-polish your Bowlus and return it to factory shine. Propane - yes, there is one optional propane tank in the front. Owners who want to do extended off-grid winter camping find this to be particularly helpful, as the propane give the glycol heating system even more power for cold weather camping. It will last weeks and weeks before you need to refill, as the heating system is ultra efficient. Exterior storage - the Bowlus features multiple exterior storage hatches for ample storage of chairs, gear and anything else you don't want to take inside your beautiful trailer. Tanks - Fresh water up to 50 gal, Grey water up to 30 gal. There are no black tanks, as Bowlus uses a super convenient cassette toilet system that you can dump into any toilet. No more black water hose... Check our our full walkthrough videos if you want more details! bowlus.com/video

    Off Grid? How? Where is the solar array? All Electric? How is it different from a normal RV in that aspect? Because it has a electric oven? Not practical in any way. It's a rich persons toy is all.

  • @Bowlus

    @Bowlus

    4 ай бұрын

    Solar is built into the curvature of the roof and and constantly charging your Bowlus - while you drive, while you camp and even while you store your Bowlus if it's outside. Bowlus can go off-grid indefinitely because of a combination of ultra-efficient appliances, solar and and very large lithium phosphate battery system - all of which are integrated together seamlessly. The Bowlus can run all of these systems off the battery only - no hookups or propane required - including the heating system and air conditioner. So while you can go off-grid in other RVs, your trip and your comfort are compromised unless you bring a big generator or have hookups.

    This video felt like a Bowlus commercial more than anything. Spending 300K on a trailer that will depreciate very quickly isn’t a good use of money, especially in today’s economy. But I can see a new look at us, we just dropped another 300k on an RV video again, coming soon. I feel like, if you plan to expand your family this seems quite cramped, and seems a bit cramped for a family of 3 who are full time RVers. But, if you are the several times a year camper its ok, but now 300k ok!

    @@shitzmear2474 There is too much to say on this! But to summarize, we do not primarily use RV parts. We opt for marine and aircraft materials. Our iconic shell is crafted from 2024 aluminum-which is, for example, the same material used to construct a Boeing jet. Our aluminum is 5-6 times the price of softer, dentable aluminum used in an Airstream. Our interior is real wood, compared to paper or plastic veneer. Our rivets are aircraft-grade. Many of our parts (electrical system, electrical monitoring system, power converter, inverter, lighting fixtures, showerhead, sinks, etc.) are marine-grade, meaning they are long lasting and extremely durable. RV parts are not built to endure. The Bowlus is built to last many generations.

    Solar is built into the curve of the shell. It's not mounted flat on top like other RVs, as that would significantly increase aero drag. The Volterra features a 17 kWh battery system which allows for indefinite time off-grid when combined with the solar. We use ultra-efficient appliances and have designed the Bowlus from the ground-up for extended off-grid exportation. Our customers rave about the cassette toilet system, which allows you the freedom to dump it in any toilet as opposed seeking out dedicated dump stations.

    It’s all great when you’re being PAID to tell everyone how great it is. I know because I spent 2020-2022 dealing with sponsorship deals. It’s easy to sell your soul to the devil when you have bills to pay. Shame on you guys tho. You’re the last two I would have expected this from. You made some huge mistakes over the past year and you’ve found yourselves backed into a corner. All of a sudden Airstream is the bad guy? You paid $300,000+ for a Mercedes van that’s junk and now you’re grasping at straws. How can you compare this thing to an Airstream??? Look how cramped it is. That kitchen sink is smaller than my cereal bowl. That microwave is just big enough to heat a ten cent ramen noodle bowl. And how much is it??? Again, shame on you for jumping from from sponsorship deal to the next.

    Agree. A honest review is one thing but new KZreadrs are so ready to sell their souls to the devil for a little sponsorship money. This company has paid off a handful of KZreadrs to basically do infomercials. It’s sad. At $300k for a airstream knock off they won’t be around long.

    Hi friends! We appreciate the candid comment and want to clear the air here. Yes, this is a sponsored video. We marked it as such and said so in the content itself. Now, that being said, we love KZread, and yes, we make revenue (however limited) from it and sponsorship deals like this one. But, we don't pay the bills with it and will never do a video where we don't genuinely believe in what we're saying in it. We worked with Lazy Days to cover the Florida RV Show this year and had originally planned to do a video about being at the show for this particular video. But, then learned about their new partnership with Bowlus, which we had seen in Airstream forums in the past but never in real life. You see, our long-term goal with the van was always to use it as a part-time camping vehicle that we could go off-grid with but still have the luxuries of our Classic (only expected to be full-time in it for ~6 months). The Bowlus sounded like it might have actually checked all the boxes that we had hoped our van would, so we asked to see it. When we saw this thing, we were blown away. It's stunning. Honestly, the video doesn't do it justice. No corner backed into here, we just genuinely fell in love with it and asked the Lazy Days team if we could do a video on it instead. We thought that our community would think it was as interesting as we did. I hope this gives y'all a little bit of insight into the backstory of this video. You've been on this journey with us for a long time, and we really appreciate you being a part of our KZread family, so wanted to take a minute to honor that in sharing. ❤ - Lauren

    So obvious you've been paid to hype this rig. Tiny kitchen, no "off grid" capability (you know better than that, unless in summer in cold weather state). Otherwise just a niche product that is hugely expensive and a joke, other than for hypers.

    300k for a tiny camper with birch vernier plywood (yes plywood) and no exhaust fan over the stove? Time to sell the Airstream van, take a 100k loss and jump on the tiny camper.
