TOURISTS TRY KELANTAN LOCAL DISHES - Kota Bharu Night Market
After spending a week working in Kota Bharu managed to find a night market - Pasar Malam Buluh Kubu.
Here we tried some of Kelanatan's favourite local dishes -
Ayam Percik
Nasi Kerabu
Murtabak Daging
Seri Muka Kuih
Akok
Kota Bharu has certainly wowed us in food choices. So much flavour and variety. This night market was an amazing experience and a great way to escape the daily grind.

snoiprocs16 yup, actually Malaysian are good English speaker... some said that some of Malaysian speak better than who use English as their mother tongue....
Kelantan dishes are mostly sweet and that's unique to the land , west coast Malaysia is mostly savory . I had the same observations when i was there but i loved all the Kelantan locals very helpful and loving especially from me a Malaysian ... Loving Kelantan
Malay Kelantanese people very expert to make kuih (sweets).. thats why you feel different taste than Georgetown
@redDonKamil

nevertheless kueh from Georgetown made by non malay which obviously quite different on taste
I just wanted to say that I've been watching your videos for over a year, since India, and I'm just amazed at the quality and content of this channel! You deserve so many more subscribers, and some day, I'm sure you will be one of the top travel channels! I just adore your personalities. Keep up the good work and best wishes in all you do! Love from Ohio, USA.❤️❤️❤️
It's unusual to see western people can eat malay soft sticky "kuih". Great job guys! 😄👌
Nice video on Kelantan. If you guys still in Kelantan, maybe you can experience how the mood there during Ramadhan because this is the month where the Muslims perform solat Tarawih/tarawih prayers in the night. Getting a local guide will be great. Enjoy!
Comeback after watch your video bazaar kampung bharu and my sister said oh that's uncle at that akok stall (7:58) she probably know and that's her favourite kueh stall in kota Bharu and really nice that uncle😊😊
Absolutely love the details you provide on your travels and especially the food. Great research ...keep it up ladies !
I love you guys. Even though I lived in Malaysia for nearly four years & now I'm back in London, I have learnt more about the different names of food & how they are made. You have certainly educated me with regards to this. I love Malaysia & often go for holidays there 2-3 times a year. I also miss fasting in the month of Ramadan there as its completely different from the atmosphere here in London. Great video. Keep it up.
Have fun guys in Kelantan! Thank u for the nice review
Its ayam PER-CHICK 😃..Glad u girls enjoyed Kelantanese food😊
To all of the tourists who will travel to kota bharu I suggested you try the pasar pagi at pasar siti khadijah and other pasar in Kelantan you can get fresh kuih from the oven and it is incredibly tasty👍👍👍👍
Kota Bharu is a malay food city. So, if someone wants to try traditional Malay food you should go to kota Bharu. 👍👍
Ayam percik is pronounced ayam per-chick. And if you're still in kelantan you should definitely go try nasi ulam cikgu. Its a restaurant serving rice with various dishes and ulam. So ulam is raw medicinal herbs usually eaten with condiments such as sambal or budu. And dont be afraid of ulam. Its tasty and good for u. We malaysians say kelantanese people look younger than their age and one of the reasons for that is their diet. They consume a lot of ulam. Even in nasi kerabu there is one ulam in the ingredients.
I hit the subscribe button as i was on 2nd minutes .. this is my first time though watching your video..it’s good to see you in my hometown kota bharu since i am foreign country for 2 years now..i miss my home thank you for briging back the memories

I miss my hometown by looking at all those foods.. Kelantan is basically a paradise of foods..
Thanks girls for promoting my hometown. If I can invite you two to Kuantan....a town in Pahang, where you can taste delicacies from Kelantan, Terengganu and as well as original Pahang dishes
I love Malaysia Cuisine Malay authentic food..their food has variety of secret ingredients.. their dishes full of creativeness plus rich of ingredients. pandan, sambal, santan (coconut milk) belacan, (shrimp paste) serai (lemongrass) u name it.

Cik is pronounced 'chick'. ayam 'per chick'
really love your channel!!! keep it up . looking forward for more and i hope you enjoy more Malaysian food :)
The kuih serimuka pandan is 2 layers of glutinous rice and pandan custard. Malaysian all time favorite kuih. I think the kuihs nyonya that you have / you ate earlier at George town (Delish Asia) didn't have kuih serimuka I believe the white and green kuih was kuih talam pandan not kuih serimuka. Kuih Talam Pandan no glutinous rice, but both layers are made of flour. Kuih2 in Kelantan are Authentic Malays kuih. In my opinion, foods in Kelantan are the most delicious malay food in Malaysia. Enjoy the foods! Btw amazing vlog❤️👍🏻... .....kerabu actual meaning is salad not "to Wednesday" (direct lango translation) 😂
The first one you taste its called `Akok' I belief is not properly make. You know it happens all the time. Different place different taste moreover mostly they cut corners to reduce cost in order to gain more profit!!! Believe me it usually taste yummy....😁😁😁😁😁
Omg this might be your best post yet!
That one is not ayam percik that’s is ayam madu bakar. The actual ayam percik are served with coconut milk sauce. U guys should try YATI AYAM PERCIK .very pure 👍🏻

Malaysian desserts or kuih mlare mostly used pandan leaves or coconut for it's prime flavour. Some people call kaya as Coconut Jam, Malaysian Custard or Pandan & Coconut Jam.
Now you guy are really going Local 😉😉😉😉 Btw Kelantan is one of the most cheap place in Malaysia... Hope that you guys will enjoy traveling to other places too.
awesome guys kota bharu is food heaven especially ramadhan happening now
This is by far my favourite. I’ve watched this I think more than 10 times. LOL!
honestly I can confirm for sure that Akok isn't well made .a good Akok should have those wrinkles (lot of). the uglier it gets the better it tastes.

the “lazy cakes” are called kek Batik. The word batik is like a specific “pattern”. Cake Batik is made out of compressing biscuits with a mixture of condensed milk + Milo 😊💖

oh guys..thats make my mouth so watery
;) glad to see guys having a great time... yes...Kelantan food is known to be sweeter than then other states in Malaysia...sugar ;)
I've mentioned it before in the video of you guys try chinese kuih in pahang, the green ball kuih is actually called Kuih Melaka or Onde onde but the inside should be palm sugar or 'gula melaka' and when you eating it explode on your mouth
cool review about our local favourite
I really enjoyed listening your conversation in English.. Your English is easily understood by Malaysian.. I do enjoyed watching chemistry between your both in the video
When buying Nasi Kerabu opt to get a "Solok Lada" a stuffed chili with coconut. You gonna like it very much.

Oooooo thanks for that recommendation
Hebat makcik kelate tu..pandai speaking..
I would say it is weird for food to be sweet but its actually because you're in Kelantan. Kelantanese tends to add sugar in everything we cook.
special kueh akok, you will find it in machang kelantan... its amazing.
The green ball coated with coconut flake is called Onde-Onde @ Kota Bharu. Banana Vanilla Muffin! New name for Akok. Lol.

Both of you are lovely. Welcome to Malaysia.
nice to seing u guys on kelantan😘 Do come again ya ,We’re inviting both of u😍
the green colour pandas kuih u ate is called seri muka. It is one of my fav kuih. the white layer is glutinous rice
Great job.
You girls look so happy and enjoyed ☺
Enjoy the journey Micha and Justina...Appreciate all your positive feedback of our Malaysia delicious food....
great review , for nasi kerabu you need to mix all the stuff in your set. put chilly aside of you cannot take it. without mix it wont go so well. the ayam percik you have taken was the modernised one. hope you could look for the one with the whitish/ grayish colour sauce on it. that is the local one.
I interested to visit kelantan in future..so many delecious food here.
Keep it up guys.. I love the way u explain the food... Relatable...by the way you can't left the kuih overnight as it will be spoilt coz of the coconut in it.

I learned a new say ‘devillish!’ just curious how long u kids gonna be in malaysia?
visiting on fasting month, the bazaar ramadhan is a must visit. you can try bazaar ramadhan nearby stadium muhammad iv. normally operation hours from 3pm to 7pm.
The kuih after Kuih Seri Muka is kuih onde-onde.. kelantan and terengganu people call it Kuih Onde Onde but other parts of Malaysia call it Kuih Melaka because it is using gula melaka (malacca sugar).
That was grill chicken with honey. Ayam percik ia different. You should go to bazaar ramadhan. Yummm. Im hungry!
Love it when you say 'percik'. Just for future reference, the last syllable of the said word is 'chick' so usually its pronounced 'per-chick'.
HELLO,I FROM KELANTAN.
Did you arrived at Kelantan during Malaysia General Election? If not then you missed a big celebration on the night before GE. It's like some kind of festival, packed on the road and on the side road. People mainly gather around Jalan Lundang(place). A bit noisy with motorcycle and car sounds tho but it was fun. Last but not least, how is your experience(people, food, etc) in Kelantan on the scale of 10? Be honest. Nobody gonna slam you. Thank You for visiting Kelantan. ✌️
I am Kelantanis and Kelantan is a beautiful place😊
Welcome to kelantanes
Hope you enjoy in Kelantan 😘
