Being a kashmiri i would like to advise those who want to visit Kashmir plz avoid agents and bargain properly, moreover avoid private transport if u can't effort and travel through local transport which is safe and cheaper. And one more thing why outsiders prefer few places like Gulmarg, Pahalgam Sonmarg etc thr r end number of stunning places to visit with out any help and guide, so come visit and explore other hilly places and meadows apart from Pahalgam and sonmarg. Feeling ashamed that thr r scammers who cheating people

I recently did a Kashmir tour..All this info is very helpful and correct.. Watch this video before planning your tour if you want to save your money... 🙂

I went kashmir only 3 months back, and I must say In Pahalgam they (hourse rider) are not only scammer but very rude too. I bargain as every customer does and when we both disagree we decided to go by walk and they continueusly follow you to accept their offer. When he realised we are not convinced then he get rude. His soughting words were "you are Bihari and when yoh don't have money then why you come here and many more". Other places was quite good of mine but pahlgaam experience was worst. Those people are only happy if they are getting their dersired money otherwise get rude if you bargain. Sad part is there was no police station to any of these tourists spots so we can complaint. Yes kashmir is safe like other place of India that's true but need to be aware of fraud locals. There is no outside compitition there so their prices are too too high.. for 5-6 km auto change are 400 rs haha.

There is a police station in Pahal gaon just opp to Taxi stand on the way to Horse ride (mini switzerland) they say . There are Two taxi stands one at the entrance of Pahaalgaon and the other inside

If you want to visit higher places of Pahalgam and sonmarg etc u can make it ur self by foot without hiring horses or other stuff

This is very helpful, we got duped so many times in Kashmir in Gulmarg they asked us to take guid who was totally useless in fact he had said that he will help us negotiate with horse ride but took us to the person who charged 2000 person for 2 km distance Also in Srinagar they asked us to pay 2500 for shikara and got know that it's only 600 😢 This is very informative and useful video, ... Next Kashmir traveller pls take care

Mr Sumith this is great information. Specially for travellers from south. All of us have dreams to travel destinations like Kashmir but I always thought nothing less than a lakh and this motivates me to think I can afford. Pls don’t care about those bad comments. If they need more people to visit, people like u are making it possible and help the ones that are in need

दिसंबर में हम इसी साल 2022 में गुलमर्ग गए थे हमारे साथ भी यही ₹2300 की लूट हुई गुलमर्ग एंट्री पर जो ₹50 के टोल के वहां दलाल खड़े हुए थे उन्होंने बोला कि आपको या तो गाइड करना पड़ेगा ₹300 का या आपको ड्रेस लेनी पड़ेगी या आप घोड़े करने पड़ेंगे यह सरकार ने यहां पर बिल्कुल निश्चित किया हुआ है तब हमने एक गाइड किया और ₹300 दे दिए जब हम शिव मंदिर पर पहुंचे तो वह बोलते हैं कि आपको यहां पर घोड़ा करना पड़ेगा घूमने के लिए तो हम ने मना कर दिया कि हमारी प्राइवेट कार है और हमें सड़क पर ही ऐसे घूम के घर अपना हम वापस चले जाएंगे तो वो बोले वहां 2-4 और इकट्ठा हो गए जो उनके दलाल थे बोले कि आपको यहां पैदल घूमने का भी पैसे देने पड़ेंगे यह सरकारी चार्ज है हमने बोला कि लाओ सबूत दिखाओ हमें 2100 की स्लिप दो तो वो और ज्यादा लोग इकट्ठे हो गए और बदतमीजी करने लगे और बोले यह हम यूनियन वालों का नियम है और हमें यहां का नियम है हमारे हिसाब से यहां सब कुछ चलता है हमसे बस एक गलती हुई कि हम उसकी वीडियो नहीं बना पाए क्योंकि हम काफी डरे हुए थे क्योंकि हमें सभी लोगों ने वहां घेरा हुआ था हमारे साथ लेडीस और बच्चा भी था और हम आदमी भी दो-तीन ही थे। जब हमने 2100 डर कर दे दिए तो हमें सब कुछ छोड़ कर चले गए बोले अब कहीं भी तुम घूम सकते हो जबकि वहां पर ऑन रोड घूमने का कोई चार्ज नहीं है केवल ₹50 टोल के अलावा जो वो गाइड किया था ₹300 वाला वह भी हमें शिव मंदिर के पास ला कर चला गया बोला कि मेरी ड्यूटी खत्म टोल से शिव मंदिर तक तो हम खुद ही हो जाते रोड का सीधा सीधा रास्ता था उसने चुटिया बनाया है हमारा यानी कुल मिलाकर खुले में चुटिया बनाया जा रहा है और वहां का प्रशासन भी इसमें शामिल है वरना इतनी गुंडागर्दी तो कहीं नहीं है कश्मीर से अच्छा तो आप मनाली में चले जाओ वहां - 25 और माइनस 28 डिग्री तक टेंपरेचर मैंने खुद गया हूं मैं मैंने देखा और कश्मीर से अच्छी बर्फ भी वहां पड़ती है उत्तराखंड में भी अच्छी बर्फ पड़ती है और ठंड भी कश्मीर से ज्यादा उत्तराखंड और मनाली में तो सबसे ज्यादा होती है aise choro ke ilakon mein aap Na jaaye Na kisi Ko jaane de वह गाइड जहां पर ₹50 का टोल लिया था वह बोलने लगा यदि हम तुम्हारे साथ नहीं होंगे गाइड के रूप में तो लोग तुम्हारी गाड़ी पर डंडे मारेंगे पत्थर मारेंगे और गाड़ी पर चिपड जाएंगे तो मैं आगे नहीं जाने देंगे घेर लेंगे इसीलिए हमने वह ₹300 का गाइड कर लिया था वरना वहां अपनी प्राइवेट गाड़ी से घूमने पर ऑन रोड घूमने पर पैदल घूमने पर कोई चार्ज नहीं है वहां लोग चुटिया बनाते है वहां पर कोई गाइड की कोई ड्रेस की कोई जूते की या कोई पैसे देने की कोई जरूरत नहीं है किसी को ना ही सरकार ने ऐसा सुनिश्चित किया हुआ है केवल ₹50 का टोल जो गुलमर्ग एंट्री पर लगता है बस वह देने के बाद ऑफिस फ्री हैं आप अपनी गाड़ी से कहीं भी घूम सकते हैं मैं अब ना तो खुद ना ही अपने जानकार को किसी को कश्मीर जाने दूंगा चोरों और लुटेरों के इलाके में जाने से अच्छा है हम अपने आसपास मनाली और उत्तराखंड मसूरी वगैरह में घूम ले वहां के लोग भी अच्छे हैं वहां ऐसी लूट भी नहीं होती वहां लोग आपको बता देते हैं आपके पूछने पर कितने रुपए लगेंगे उसके बाद खत्म आप लो या मत लो

When you buy 500 ml mineral water at cost of 50 rupees from 3 star hotel which is only 20 rupees in market then you don't go to Hotel management and lodge scam complaint??? Or make video on this When Hotel charge you 6 pcs Chicken kabab for 600 rupees then you don't make any videos??? All scam is being done by poor Horse rider sledge only who toiled hard to pull you and your horse up in top of mountain at difficult terrain!!! There your BUTT is getting burst giving 50 rupees tips!!! This is mindset of every Indian... When you are giving tips just imagine you are helping some downtrodden people then you can enjoy every moment of your trip

Very much needed video We hired a photographer from Kashmir to shoot out pics When we arrived at Pahalgam, local people in Pahalgam captured our photographer and asked us money, and did not allow our photographer to capture the pictures and videos Mostly people are greedy and don't hesitate to scam you

I recently did a 8 day trip in Kashmir..not all people are scammers, it's just that tourism is the main source of earning so the rates fluctuate Accord to season/tourists. We had an amazing experience. True, do not hire guides and ponies, notorious as hell they will rip you off..we had read about it so we did not opt for them. Rest all of the hotels and house boat stays were amazing. We booked through Stone age Tours, best stay was at Kolahoi Greens in Gulmarg, New Jersey House Boat in Srinagar Nigeen lake (avoid Dal Lake it's a harrowing experience) and Pine spring in Pahalgam

So true……we just visited Kashmir and faced similar situations…..there are many scammers in Kashmir and it would be great if tourists have little bit of idea of the rates and charges otherwise they will charge much more

I love Kashmir and have travelled there twice in two years! It is because of some really annoying ppl that stops u from peacefully enjoying the beauty of this place. Everywhere u will find ppl like this, middlemen trying to get in the middle of everything and get u to pay extra. Even knowing that we were being scammed we had no option but to pay extra, because they all are very tight together and say if you dont come with us at our price then we wont let anyone else take you. Especially Sonamarg. Guys pls AVOID SONAMARG, if possible, too much scamming and overcharging there. After travelling international to other Asian countries, I feel very bad that ppl like these are causing so much annoyance and discomfort to tourists in our country. We would have soooo much more international tourism in Kashmir if some ppl didn't behave like this.

I felt exactly same and understood why Kashmir tourism has ultra negative feedback. All guides and agents are fraud. Since I am from Delhi they had bitter time. I don't think it can change since the opportunities are very less there. And also there is no LOC near there so feel free and don't spend any money on any guide or agent.

Sorry sir, as a person who has travelled to other states, i must say ,the kashmiripeople.in tourism need to change their attitude. Also in our place Innova to airport which is 22 kms away is ,1000/- and in srinagar the same Innova to airport which was 12 kms from our stay was 1500/- plz do the math

दिसंबर में हम इसी साल 2022 में गुलमर्ग गए थे हमारे साथ भी यही ₹2300 की लूट हुई गुलमर्ग एंट्री पर जो ₹50 के टोल के वहां दलाल खड़े हुए थे उन्होंने बोला कि आपको या तो गाइड करना पड़ेगा ₹300 का या आपको ड्रेस लेनी पड़ेगी या आप घोड़े करने पड़ेंगे यह सरकार ने यहां पर बिल्कुल निश्चित किया हुआ है तब हमने एक गाइड किया और ₹300 दे दिए जब हम शिव मंदिर पर पहुंचे तो वह बोलते हैं कि आपको यहां पर घोड़ा करना पड़ेगा घूमने के लिए तो हम ने मना कर दिया कि हमारी प्राइवेट कार है और हमें सड़क पर ही ऐसे घूम के घर अपना हम वापस चले जाएंगे तो वो बोले वहां 2-4 और इकट्ठा हो गए जो उनके दलाल थे बोले कि आपको यहां पैदल घूमने का भी पैसे देने पड़ेंगे यह सरकारी चार्ज है हमने बोला कि लाओ सबूत दिखाओ हमें 2100 की स्लिप दो तो वो और ज्यादा लोग इकट्ठे हो गए और बदतमीजी करने लगे और बोले यह हम यूनियन वालों का नियम है और हमें यहां का नियम है हमारे हिसाब से यहां सब कुछ चलता है हमसे बस एक गलती हुई कि हम उसकी वीडियो नहीं बना पाए क्योंकि हम काफी डरे हुए थे क्योंकि हमें सभी लोगों ने वहां घेरा हुआ था हमारे साथ लेडीस और बच्चा भी था और हम आदमी भी दो-तीन ही थे। जब हमने 2100 डर कर दे दिए तो हमें सब कुछ छोड़ कर चले गए बोले अब कहीं भी तुम घूम सकते हो जबकि वहां पर ऑन रोड घूमने का कोई चार्ज नहीं है केवल ₹50 टोल के अलावा जो वो गाइड किया था ₹300 वाला वह भी हमें शिव मंदिर के पास ला कर चला गया बोला कि मेरी ड्यूटी खत्म टोल से शिव मंदिर तक तो हम खुद ही हो जाते रोड का सीधा सीधा रास्ता था उसने चुटिया बनाया है हमारा यानी कुल मिलाकर खुले में चुटिया बनाया जा रहा है और वहां का प्रशासन भी इसमें शामिल है वरना इतनी गुंडागर्दी तो कहीं नहीं है कश्मीर से अच्छा तो आप मनाली में चले जाओ वहां - 25 और माइनस 28 डिग्री तक टेंपरेचर मैंने खुद गया हूं मैं मैंने देखा और कश्मीर से अच्छी बर्फ भी वहां पड़ती है उत्तराखंड में भी अच्छी बर्फ पड़ती है और ठंड भी कश्मीर से ज्यादा उत्तराखंड और मनाली में तो सबसे ज्यादा होती है aise choro ke ilakon mein aap Na jaaye Na kisi Ko jaane de वह गाइड जहां पर ₹50 का टोल लिया था वह बोलने लगा यदि हम तुम्हारे साथ नहीं होंगे गाइड के रूप में तो लोग तुम्हारी गाड़ी पर डंडे मारेंगे पत्थर मारेंगे और गाड़ी पर चिपड जाएंगे तो मैं आगे नहीं जाने देंगे घेर लेंगे इसीलिए हमने वह ₹300 का गाइड कर लिया था वरना वहां अपनी प्राइवेट गाड़ी से घूमने पर ऑन रोड घूमने पर पैदल घूमने पर कोई चार्ज नहीं है वहां लोग चुटिया बनाते है वहां पर कोई गाइड की कोई ड्रेस की कोई जूते की या कोई पैसे देने की कोई जरूरत नहीं है किसी को ना ही सरकार ने ऐसा सुनिश्चित किया हुआ है केवल ₹50 का टोल जो गुलमर्ग एंट्री पर लगता है बस वह देने के बाद ऑफिस फ्री हैं आप अपनी गाड़ी से कहीं भी घूम सकते हैं मैं अब ना तो खुद ना ही अपने जानकार को किसी को कश्मीर जाने दूंगा चोरों और लुटेरों के इलाके में जाने से अच्छा है हम अपने आसपास मनाली और उत्तराखंड मसूरी वगैरह में घूम ले वहां के लोग भी अच्छे हैं वहां ऐसी लूट भी नहीं होती वहां लोग आपको बता देते हैं आपके पूछने पर कितने रुपए लगेंगे उसके बाद खत्म आप लो या मत लो

Totally agree ,we were there in dec 2022 , the place is a paradise but they loot you . As you said the sledge person ghoda sawari ,jeeps with special tyres ,snow bikes etc costed us much more than our flight tickets. We were totally scammed

I have been to Kashmir on JAN-2022. I am sure I will never go there again and will not suggest anyone. I felt cheated during my entire trip. I was short on my timelines and visited Kashmir without proper research. EVERYTHING you mentioned in the vlog is 100 percent ACCURATE. Too much scam at every place, be it Srinagar, Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Pahalgam. Local Kashmiris are good, everyone in tourism will try to cheat you in one or another way.

I had faced same problem in 2018. Out of my 6 days only visit 2 days because of one driver and one broker. I will never suggest any one to go Kashmir. No of people are frued 14:46

Can you please suggest how many days before of travel, we should book the hotel at Gulmarg to get that at reasonable price ? Otherway, i would like ask how many days before of travel, did you book hotel at Gulmarg ?

It depend on Crowd ...This time it's all booked..We booked just before 10 days and it was Very reasonable price..But now Cost has increased as seems everyone is traveling to Kashmir..

Visited Kashmir in 2012. Got cheated at every place. 10 years down the line, things are similar. Rather visit Ladakh. You will enjoy more. Better hospitality, better hotels, beautiful locations. You will enjoy!

Oh i so agree....my dad is usually super cool. He stays calm even when it's obvious ki what's happening is not right. But in gulmarg , he suddenly got very angry and told a pony guy or guide or whatever he was ki we don't wanna use ur service plz leave us alone. Rarely see him angry ..but saw that day. These touts so pester u

I also been to many hill stations and tourist places but I found the Uttrakhand is most beautiful place and there is almost 0% scammers. Uttrakhand is really Dev Bhoomi for tourists. There are many hidden gems and you can enjoy Snow fall like Himachal or Kashmir in Uttarakhand, Lakes, Mountains, Hills, Camping/Trekking, Adventure Sports, almost everything. You just name it and you have it in Uttrakhand 👍

Common trends here are : Cheating , guiding you to wrong ways , bargaining , wasting your time , strategy to make you spend , signalling eachother in gang , communicating in local languages so that you wont understand , blackmailing that you are not safe , inaccurate information , insufficient information , wrong information .

Bhai rates are depends upon Seasons, don't misguide people,apple valley is beautiful in September when apples get ready to export. Same HB rates depends upon season as well.And last is Saffron saste k chakkar mai saffron duplicate milna he hai.

This is so true! We recently visited Kashmir (Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonmarg) in Dec 2022 and we felt cheated everywhere. We booked an Innova from Srinagar for Rs 3200/day, and he didn't even covered local site seeing at any of the places stating that only taxis from the local union goes to those places. We had to shell out additional Rs 8200 in those 3 places to cover all those points. Additionally, the pony rider in Pahalgam and Shikara also charged us more as you stated in the video. Highly disappointed!!

3200 from srinagar to pehalgam is normal pricing. With pony owners, yeah, you have to negotiate a lot

Actual Price is Rs 3500/- , and they don't cheat you, u have taken the cab for whole day and they charge only 3500/* whatelse u want in less amount for whole day.

@@Jebrael1 I have no issue with the 3200 Rs/day. But what irked me is that we had to shell out additional 2000 to 3000 Rs to the taxi unions to covers places in Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonmarg while our cab was sitting idle but still charging us 3200 of that day.

@@abhinavmathur1204 everywhere is additional charge whether its Delhi or Mumbai or jammu kashmir, u have seen in hotel there is enough additional charge , now its upto u, want to pay or not , there are local services also there , its ur preference. We cant shellout it. Its government who is not taking any steps.

If u take private Automatic or Ola or uber , u have to pay 500 rupees for just few kilometres. I think its not irks u. And Todays inflation had dragged us down.

Plz opt for a cab and make sure u go early in the morn. We got scammed. Cabs were not available. We got an Omni instead of Innova and had to give 2100 for half the day. The govt rate was 2100 got Innova for the same trip. For Omni it was 1500

Amazing video. Biggest scam is Horse Scam so please be educated on how much you should pay for the horse. Everyone one wants tip even if they smile at you they want tips. Gandola is not worth moreover the driver will tell you to take horse to reach Gandola counter and will claim it is 7 km away from the taxi stand which is an absolute lie. Its only 1 KM. Dont take Guide at all. Kashmir is heaven on earth but spoilt by scammers.

I so agree. We booked a house boat via net and they cancelled last minute and said they will refund. Probably cause they got customers at more price. Hotel in pahalgam booked was non existent. Shikara person I can give number , decent guy, 3 hours 800/- per shikara. Irfan at Ghar no. 7 . Taxi guy too i can give a decent guys number.

दिसंबर में हम इसी साल 2022 में गुलमर्ग गए थे हमारे साथ भी यही ₹2300 की लूट हुई गुलमर्ग एंट्री पर जो ₹50 के टोल के वहां दलाल खड़े हुए थे उन्होंने बोला कि आपको या तो गाइड करना पड़ेगा ₹300 का या आपको ड्रेस लेनी पड़ेगी या आप घोड़े करने पड़ेंगे यह सरकार ने यहां पर बिल्कुल निश्चित किया हुआ है तब हमने एक गाइड किया और ₹300 दे दिए जब हम शिव मंदिर पर पहुंचे तो वह बोलते हैं कि आपको यहां पर घोड़ा करना पड़ेगा घूमने के लिए तो हम ने मना कर दिया कि हमारी प्राइवेट कार है और हमें सड़क पर ही ऐसे घूम के घर अपना हम वापस चले जाएंगे तो वो बोले वहां 2-4 और इकट्ठा हो गए जो उनके दलाल थे बोले कि आपको यहां पैदल घूमने का भी पैसे देने पड़ेंगे यह सरकारी चार्ज है हमने बोला कि लाओ सबूत दिखाओ हमें 2100 की स्लिप दो तो वो और ज्यादा लोग इकट्ठे हो गए और बदतमीजी करने लगे और बोले यह हम यूनियन वालों का नियम है और हमें यहां का नियम है हमारे हिसाब से यहां सब कुछ चलता है हमसे बस एक गलती हुई कि हम उसकी वीडियो नहीं बना पाए क्योंकि हम काफी डरे हुए थे क्योंकि हमें सभी लोगों ने वहां घेरा हुआ था हमारे साथ लेडीस और बच्चा भी था और हम आदमी भी दो-तीन ही थे। जब हमने 2100 डर कर दे दिए तो हमें सब कुछ छोड़ कर चले गए बोले अब कहीं भी तुम घूम सकते हो जबकि वहां पर ऑन रोड घूमने का कोई चार्ज नहीं है केवल ₹50 टोल के अलावा जो वो गाइड किया था ₹300 वाला वह भी हमें शिव मंदिर के पास ला कर चला गया बोला कि मेरी ड्यूटी खत्म टोल से शिव मंदिर तक तो हम खुद ही हो जाते रोड का सीधा सीधा रास्ता था उसने चुटिया बनाया है हमारा यानी कुल मिलाकर खुले में चुटिया बनाया जा रहा है और वहां का प्रशासन भी इसमें शामिल है वरना इतनी गुंडागर्दी तो कहीं नहीं है कश्मीर से अच्छा तो आप मनाली में चले जाओ वहां - 25 और माइनस 28 डिग्री तक टेंपरेचर मैंने खुद गया हूं मैं मैंने देखा और कश्मीर से अच्छी बर्फ भी वहां पड़ती है उत्तराखंड में भी अच्छी बर्फ पड़ती है और ठंड भी कश्मीर से ज्यादा उत्तराखंड और मनाली में तो सबसे ज्यादा होती है aise choro ke ilakon mein aap Na jaaye Na kisi Ko jaane de वह गाइड जहां पर ₹50 का टोल लिया था वह बोलने लगा यदि हम तुम्हारे साथ नहीं होंगे गाइड के रूप में तो लोग तुम्हारी गाड़ी पर डंडे मारेंगे पत्थर मारेंगे और गाड़ी पर चिपड जाएंगे तो मैं आगे नहीं जाने देंगे घेर लेंगे इसीलिए हमने वह ₹300 का गाइड कर लिया था वरना वहां अपनी प्राइवेट गाड़ी से घूमने पर ऑन रोड घूमने पर पैदल घूमने पर कोई चार्ज नहीं है वहां लोग चुटिया बनाते है वहां पर कोई गाइड की कोई ड्रेस की कोई जूते की या कोई पैसे देने की कोई जरूरत नहीं है किसी को ना ही सरकार ने ऐसा सुनिश्चित किया हुआ है केवल ₹50 का टोल जो गुलमर्ग एंट्री पर लगता है बस वह देने के बाद ऑफिस फ्री हैं आप अपनी गाड़ी से कहीं भी घूम सकते हैं मैं अब ना तो खुद ना ही अपने जानकार को किसी को कश्मीर जाने दूंगा चोरों और लुटेरों के इलाके में जाने से अच्छा है हम अपने आसपास मनाली और उत्तराखंड मसूरी वगैरह में घूम ले वहां के लोग भी अच्छे हैं वहां ऐसी लूट भी नहीं होती वहां लोग आपको बता देते हैं आपके पूछने पर कितने रुपए लगेंगे उसके बाद खत्म आप लो या मत लो

After learning all these negetiv approach i decided not to go in Kashmir tour. The fun of tour is good but feelings of cheating is worse than enjoyment. Thanks brother.

Take an advice - Never buy a Shawl on the road. They will tell you this is expensive Pashmina and handicrafts blah blah but expensive handicrafts are never sold on roads. They are sold at government recognised stores. Scammers sell Amritsari shawls on roads while branding them as Pashmina handicrafts and dupe tourists of thousands.

The best what you can do is get a package from a local travel agent, you dont have to bargain or get scammed. You can get a package as per your budget and enjoy a hassle free tour.

In my recent visit to pahalgam and srinagar, I must say that there is a big scan running in the name of taxi services...Both taxi Union and Govt of Kashmir is running such scam..taxi fares are high and the condition to it are much more pathetic....like after every 1 hr per spot they charge Rs 400 and after 2 hours whole day payment is charged....secondly for AC services one has to pay 30 percent more...thirdly they only take cash..and lastly they also ask for tip .....

Plz be careful while using any booking sites. We got duped when we used go ibibo to bookhotel in pahalgam. That hotel did not exist. Houseboat via Agoda ...cancelled last minute. Plz call up the hotel and confirm booking. Kashmiris do not believe in these travel apps.

I went in Last January Same date as today and i did not take any permission but now you can't fly drone there after the Attack On IAF Base Using Drone..Its Completely Ban There, if u carry or try to fly u might be in Jail.. and I used Mavic pro

😱 omg those are the rates? Anyway , jo hua so hua. Shikara ride we were very happy to pay what we paid since the driver was a decent human. House people cancels our booking when they got someone who will pay more. Refunded the money. So much for the agreement they sign with travel apps. And horse ride was 800/- for the short distance from gulamarg taxi stand to gondola offic

Shikara ride 500/- per person cost /cost of 2 persons??

I am a Kashmiri & fully agree with this fellow. I myself met boys in Gulmarg in winters, amateur boys who had bought sledges in autumn and then would offer tourists sledge rides on slopes in Gulmarg. Whopping Rs 2000 - Rs 3000 per ride (approx 300 metres). Since we were locals, they couldn't dupe us. But there's also one thing dude - the reason behind excessive scamming in Kashmir is current financial crisis and political crisis. In 2019 there was military lockdown post revocation of autonomy and then most of 2020 & 2021 was consumed by Covid. Then there are frequent political upheavals - like you saw in 2016 when mass uprising shut valley for months - you never know what happens tomorrow and when valley will go into indefinite chaos next. So that's why lots of people associated with tourism resort to scamming and earn + save money for rainy days. Sorry on their behalf though

I am so happy people.like you do exist in Kashmir. It's good if the people see what impression they give tourists...cause kashmir can develop big time on tourism if the people stop this kind of bad behaviour. Charging a lil extra is ok but sometimes it's pure scam and asking for tips at each point is really sad. But i am so happy to know people like you who understand both sides are present in the valley. Like I said, i did meet a driver who was so so decent and humane and a shikara driver too who was a.good human. Just hoping the people can turn themselves around and maybe , just maybe sometime in the future i can visit kashmir without such a bad experience.

@@drsangeethabhat5159 Thanks for your response but I respectfully disagree with you. Kashmir can boom with tourism but at the end of day tourism economy is a bubble, you saw it in Sri Lanka recently. And given Kashmir is a politically charged place and with things only getting worse with each passing day overt dependence on tourism will lead us to starvation. Kashmir has horticulture and handicrafts that contributes almost 3/5th of our economy. We should look forward to develop those sectors and side by side develop some skills among young to become entrepreneurs (in sectors outside tourism).

(But there people also need to understand - sone ki murgi ko marke ek saath ande nahi nikal paoge ek anda roj milega to accha hai) you are saying ki unko ' thode mahino ke liye rojgar milta hai and conditions bohot kharab hai..' But charging 5000-6000 for pony and 3500 for shikara from many tourists for very small things and business having 100% revenue they are earning much more than us for sure ( I don't know of other local people's who have bad economic situation and living in less touristic places ) We also only earn 1000-1500 per day and that also after heavy hardwork & this type of things ruins the trip 😰🙏

Nice information...300 ruppes are enough for shikara ride for 4 people in dal lake ... recently we had done..

Really feel sorry for your experience... But cant agree with your pahalgam experience... Visit pahalgam in summer believe me horseriding experience was mind blowing.. We did atleast 18km of horse riding through such dangerous path..at the starting we bargained with the horse owner and after the ride we gave him much more than asked for his efforts

They took us to Kashmir Valley Only 4km.. that too for 2500 each.. 7500 for 3 of us.. and they told us that it's duna Valley, same is Kashmir Valley, They few more place there only.. They told ki Yaha Bajrangi Bhaijaan ki shooting hui thi..that was Lie ..and They all just wanted to Maks money..even they knew that we were making Vlog ..it was all on camera

Literally fraud... in pahalgam they ask 3500 for bysarn for horse after bargaining we ended up with 2000...that too we felt it was too much ... not only that in every places we felt the same

@@yuvaraju2010 ​ Yes I was referring to flying drones in Kashmir and carrying drones in Kashmir, it has been banned after the attack on airbase using drones in Srinagar. In other parts of India, you can carry remote and battery in a handbag and Drone in Check-in bags.
