48:24 : Could you grow a substantial mustache if you wanted to? 1:20:41 : if someone’s ass looked like SpongeBob, that would be really strange. Presumably one couldn’t tell that it specifically looked like SpongeBob, in addition to being weirdly rectangular, because presumably they would, like, wear pants, but even with the (presumably custom) pants, it would still look really weird 1:21:42 : I was about to ask 1:24:58 : nvm this comment 1:25:52 : math? 👀 1:26:44 : ah, hmm, interesting, how to formalize that… I guess you could come up with a model of a baseline of how popular a pairing would be given popularity of the characters… Or… Hm, another idea could be, looking at how many pairings a pairing ranks higher than, and then compare that to the number of pairings where both parts of the pair are more popular than one of the two in the other pair? Like, (a,b) > (c,d) if either (a>c and b>d) or (a>d and b>c) ? Alternatively, we could note that for any given character, there’s going to be a list of characters which they are paired more often with than other characters, and, I imagine that for at least most characters, that the distribution is heavily weighted to just a few that they tend to be paired with, and all other possible pairings with the character are exceedingly rare. Then… Uh, there’s probably some kind of maximally uninformative prior for just this constraint… Or, well, yeah probably, but that’s not the thing we want, probably? We want to incorporate some kind of expectation that pairings with more popular characters tend to be more popular, In order to be able to describe the extent to which a given pairing goes against this expectation. One idea could be to count the amount of fan-art of each character, and the amount of fan-art of each pairing, and like, if a pairing consists of a particularly large fraction of a certain character’s fan-art, that seems notable. Though, that seems further from the question you originally asked, which was about rankings… Hmm… 1:40:00 : my favorite female character from a work of fiction, I both think another character from said work would be better for her than I would be, and that there are irl women who aren’t out of my league and which would be better for me than she would be? So like, If I were to meet her, I think dating would be a bad idea for both of us. (… for one thing, she’s mostly mute, and I don’t think I could handle that well) 1:50:51 : well, she already [spoilers]went through a crisis of realizing that she was in a sense, “not real”, and came through the other side of that[/spoilers], so, I think I could kinda hint at the reason why I know the stuff, and she’d probably be fine? 1:57:00 : is this boneka even catchable? Ah, so it is
