Thing is he`s right, I`ve followed Spurs for 30 years & the decisions the club makes are mostly crazy. They`ve just sacked a young bright manager with the best points ratio of any PL Spurs manager. Then re-placed him with some-one with no experience, half way through a season. Losing saturday isn`t the thing, it`s the lack of stable thinking. Allowing a decent manager to make mistakes to learn what to do, Alex Ferguson had hard times but Man Utd board had the sense to let things slowly take shape. For Spurs like most clubs only go in circles.
@weefeatures
10 жыл бұрын
I agree with most of what you say, but I think AVB is pretty garbage. You can't judge a winning % off of barely one season, especially as Bale salvaged most of those points for AVB. This season he'd only won against Swansea, Crystal Palace, Cardiff, Norwich, Aston Villa, Hull and Sunderland, and 6 of those 8 results were only 1-0 wins (the other two games were 2-0). 30% of the goals were penalties too. He's lost or drawn against anyone of any significance, as well as a 3-0 loss to West Ham and 6-0 and 5-0 drubbings against main rivals within a month. This all while spending £100 mill. Yes the team needs time to gel, but nearly half a year gone and they're still playing mindlessly boring football and a complete non-entity against teams they're supposed to be competing with. AVB was poor at Chelsea too. His only real success was 1 season where he won the Europa League with players like Falcao, Hulk, Guarin, J Rodriguez and he won the league in portugal, but winning the Primeira Liga with Porto is like winning the SPL with Celtic. It's just not that impressive. Porto has won 9 of the last 11 league titles anyway.

Na Forest are like Derby. Both pushed beyond their limits by a great manager. Compare Forest pre and post Clough with Clough era. I have a soft spot for them but they aren't a sleeping giant. Newcastle are the biggest underachievers with the fanbase, the stadium size etc. For whatever reason it's not gelled for decades. Robson and Keegan got closest but 🤷

Very relevant after that anfield performance today
Richarlison saw this and thought he could change them 😂
Absolutely spot on, we can blame Levy for this, we're a property company disguised as a football team
He is still right 😂😂

Thing is he`s right, I`ve followed Spurs for 30 years & the decisions the club makes are mostly crazy. They`ve just sacked a young bright manager with the best points ratio of any PL Spurs manager. Then re-placed him with some-one with no experience, half way through a season. Losing saturday isn`t the thing, it`s the lack of stable thinking. Allowing a decent manager to make mistakes to learn what to do, Alex Ferguson had hard times but Man Utd board had the sense to let things slowly take shape. For Spurs like most clubs only go in circles.

6 years now and so true!!
Roy is 100% right six clubs in my opinion who has everything going for them with fanbase history and stadium and training ground facilities. Leeds United, West Ham, Everton, Spurs, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. All massive clubs but all under performed in the last 30 years for one reason or another.

Robson and Keegan got closest but 🤷
I stopped betting on Football for 6 years. When it restarted this season, I thought why the bloody hell not;and proceeded to bet spurs winning against Everton. Because you know, feelings. And of course they let me down.
Why’s this getting recommend after they lost to Everton at home 🤣
