I'm a red bull fan but toto saying the difference bitten Ferrari and Mercedes last year was small in points but if Ferrari had a better strategy team it would be much bigger with Hamilton going to Ferrari and if he manages to get a good team around like in Mercedes , we just need to see what will happen but red bull this year has no penalties so expect to see big development

Schumacher was out of racing for 3 years before he came back. If Rosberg would have gone against Schumacher before Schumacher retired for 3 years the out come would have been very different

I'm pretty new to the F1 scene. So I speak with a grain of salt. But why is no one talking about George Russel out performing Lewis in general? I don't think this move is "great" for Lewis or Ferrari. As for Mercedes... they have their own problems working on the car.

Neutral fans know that Russell didn't outperform Hamilton in 2022. Hamilton spent the first half of the season testing experimental set ups to try to improve the car while Russell was on safe set ups. Hamilton beat Russell comfortably in 2023. Ferrari get a highly experienced multiple world champion and Lewis gets some new overalls and a payrise. 😂.

At one part of last season, Lewis’s car was correctly set up for him he was well in front of Georgie boy. He also finished above him in the drivers competition. Get things right for Lewis and he is untouchable. Before R B falsely won the championship, nobody could drive to the same standard as Lewis. NOBODY.

Difficult for Ferrari to argue with a 7xF1 GP WDC, when Ferrari hasn't won since Hamilton entered F1 and has been winning . . .

The difference was strategy and drivers. Ferrari had a faster car than Mercedes.

Companies can use ( or attempt to use) clauses in contracts to protect IP. what they can't do is stop people going to rival employers.(Companies that try end up paying the employee a lot of money) If they claim such a move compromises their IP and a court agrees then, their only option to stop them going is to Pay said employee full salary for Gardening leave for an agreed amount of time which must be both reasonable ( so as not to impact the employees career)and fundamentally to protect IP.( they also need to explain how exactly that employee moving to a rival harms their IP)

This is wink and nod territory. Hamilton may not be able to ask for them to come with him, but they can definitely move knowing full well that Hamilton wants them to come, and there’s nothing to prevent Ferrari from offering them positions to switch, which makes this clause in the contract frivolous and moot!

@@TheCrayonMasterLC Doubt that as it's technically illegal unless you want to pay them for a years gardening leave. You cannot forbid anybody to peruse their professional career. I have worked at places where they stipulate that you cannot work for rival companies or other companies engaged in a similar market. They get the finger and in 40 years I've never been sued for breach of contract.There's a whole bunch of reasons they don't peruse such claims the main one being they won't win. And yes I've been threatened of being sued by a couple of employers Usually handing them their phone and saying " You call your solicitor now, whilst I go an ring mine" usually ends that silliness. What they are counting on is the employees fear of being sued, and not looking into whether clause is actually legal or enforceable

Of course Mercedes can do something about it. Contracts tightly written are enforceable in the law courts. Ferrari won’t want to upset the wider paddock either because the next time it might be the other way round. None of that stops people moving between teams of their own free will but if it happens it will be with the agreement of all parties which might include a period of gardening leave as is common in F1 and the business world generally.

Indeed, Over the past 2 years the Ferrari has looked a better package than MB Which has failed mainly through Ferrari's inability to formulate a decent strategy and the inability of their drivers to delver when they do.

I think Lewis will do just fine. His move is extremely clever. Mercedes not listening to him on development was a huge mistake.

if Mercedes agreed to Hamilton's proposed ambassador contract this season would have been much less silly. Ferrari threw the same money at him and made so much more off the excitement of the announcement alone.

I will not be surprised if George Russell outperforms Hamilton in 2024, and Charles LeClerc outperforms Hamilton in 2025. Why? As much as I respect Hamilton's incredible record, he is no longer young. The same goes for Alonso, no matter how much I love him, he is no longer young. And I say that as a person who is also no longer young. Decline with age is inevitable and irreversible.

Glad the news came he is to exit team at the end of this season. He is going to be no.2 driver for this season.

Lewis and Ferrari did this now to give Merc and Sainz one whole year to find replacements respectively......it was done out of loyalty and giving them more time to decide their future! A close friend of mine has been a Hamiton & then a Mercedes fan since Lewis joined F1.. I’ve been a Ferrari fan for over 60 years,& I don’t particularly like Hamiton. So we always have had friendly banter over the years.. According to him Hamilton could drive a Lada & still win ..lol So these last two seasons he’s been making excuses for his lack of wins, Just the other day after it came out that Lewis would be joining Ferrari I messaged him & of course got the response that he’s going there for Ferrari to start winning again & will be supporting the red team.. How can he be toast? He’s the owner of MB racing. Not the f1 sweeper up boy. I admit it is Wolf’s fault Lewis is on the move. All he really wanted was his name on a contract for MB ambassador when his racing is over. He has done a marvellous job of promoting MB and truly deserves recognition for that. Nicky L did it and he never drove for MB from what I can remember. I honestly think that the Wolf man is against any kind of promotion for Lewis because he would probably become good enough to become team leader as Wolf started his career with MB. The Hammer would make a brilliant, clever and very popular team leader.

Hamilton won't win with Mercedes in 24 nor will he win with ferrari in my view. He will say money is not the reason, but really ? If you know you can't win, may as well get tons more regardless. A betterr jet ? Money always wins somewhere regardless of whether you need it or not it seems.

I don't think Bono will move to Italy becuase he knows Hamilton will drive what, 2 or 3 more years? Bono still has many years to go at Mercedes. I also think Lewis made a bad call in moving to Ferrari. I think James Allison will cook.
