"This Love ", "Cowboys from Hell ", "5 minutes alone", "Planet Caravan " (Black Sabbath cover) They were metal music '80's -90's R.I.P Abbott brothers!!!
The amazing thing about metal music. It's not "angry" music. It's emotional music. Metal music is deep and dark and I'm all about it 🖤
One reason you are becoming a headbanger, and a fan of any other genre you never listened too before, is the fact you are actually listening to the lyrics. Many of the songs that are dismissed as just screaming, if you listen to the lyrics, or look them up if you need to, you find profound messages, it is just a different method of delivery

Nice reaction you guys. Hard to believe this song is 31 years old, and it still sounds as great as it did when it first came out in 1990. R.I.P. to the Abbott brothers, Dimebag Darrell (guitar) and Vinnie Paul (drums)🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶
I'm a professional drummer. I played the club Dimebag was shot and killed at a few months before it happened and I opened up for Vinnie Paul's band Hell Yeah a few months before his death. Unreal. They were possibly the 2 most underrated players in Metals history
At it’s core the song is about the loss of a loved one and the struggle that follows. In grief it almost feels like you died as well and you stop living. For example “when she died, I should have cried and spared myself some pain” I never dealt with the loss and this is unresolved. “I will unlock my door and pass the cemetery gates” It’s time to find acceptance and live again.
YAY. *Pats ourselves on our backs* You're one of us now!

Lol, Ambers’ face as you buckle her up for Pantera. She is such a good sport.
There's a pretty interesting backstory to this song. It's based on an actual friend's suicide and this song is their way of coping with that loss. There is so much raw emotion in this song, and the keening at the end is chilling.
I really admire you younger people expanding your musical horizons, so cool. And the respect you show to all the genres is so great. Love your vids 😘💕🕊

This song (and a lot of metal songs) are deep and have so much meaning to them. There's such a misconception from those who don't listen to it that it's just screaming "devil music". Nothing could be further from the truth. Those who take the time to actually delve into it end up appreciating and loving it.. as it should be.. Rock on! \m/

Sure, but I'm not gonna listen to full on screamo like some bands I've heard. Because I can't understand those guys. LOVE metallica and this song and walk are the only pantera songs I've listened to. But if the singer doesn't get more guttural than this, then I'm fine.
@stephanieclark9849
Жыл бұрын
@@NYC_Goody Full on screamo isn't metal in my opinion. It's a sub genre of it I guess since there's like a thousand categories now. I like the balance between the clean lyrics and some screams (slipknot for example) but I would never sit around and listen to some dude growling throughout an entire song, every song, or just screaming because he can. There's gotta be balance.

Vinnie Paul Abbot (drummer) lived just a few blocks from me. I saw him at the local Home Depot, just shopping like a regular guy. I talked with him for a while. He was a very nice guy. He had a Van Halen necklace on that day. June 12th, 2018. Little did we know he passed away 10 days later. I have a pic of him from that day..
Pantera's, "Mouth For War" has one of THE best guitar hooks in the history of guitar hooks. Scientific fact: No head can remain still whilst listening.

@@robflatliner That it does.
This was their masterpiece. Musically, it's complex but still accessible enough for you to groove to it; it's vocally amazing; lyrically, it's very personal and vulnerable without being sappy. The song's almost 6 minutes long but it flies by because it doesn't drag at any point. It's perfect. Phil Anselmo (singer) was kinda like metal's Eminem, before there was an Eminem. He came into the spotlight with a lot of personal baggage and pain and worked it out over the years through his art. Artists like that grow up in public which is why their fans are so loyal -- you don't just love their music, you love them because you've gotten to know them through the albums and through the years.
Another more melodic Pantera song is "This Love" but it still rocks
Also, the video version cuts part of the song. The entire opening is missing so you may want to go back and listen to the album version.

I feel like Rob was taunting her a little bit with the headbang. 😂
fun fact, pantera actually had a song on an episode of spongebob square pants, an instrumental version of death rattle on the pre-hibernaton episode
I could never imagine where you were three months ago without this? I could not imagine a world without this song!
Live version from Moscow of Domination! 🤘🤘🤘🙏 my favorite! Pretty please, my G.

Great music is just great music. Pantera , over the top great music.
You‘ve become a headbanger because you feel it although it’s not your kind of music but you are open minded and willing to leave the track! Big respect

Awesome song Awesome guitar riff dimbag Darrell one of the best guitarist in metal rip dimbag
The one time that I ever took a real taxi ride I was listening to this song on my portable cassette player with the headphones cranked all the way up. And, when it got to the screaming guitar part at the end the lady asked me "what the heck are you listening to?". I just started laughing and told her the name. She was freaked out. This was back when this song was new.

Great intro and inviting channel. Great job.
Our band played 100's of times at the Al Rosa Villa in Columbus OH in the late 70's to early 90's. I have never been back there after Dimebag was killed on stage. RIP Daryl!

So glad I found that you guys did Pantera. These guys are from my area. Such down to earth guys. Dimebag (guitar) and his brother Vinnie (drums) would always support any rock concert coming through Dallas. It was very common to see them walking around in the crowds just being one of us. Stopping to talk to any one that wanted to. RIP to both Dimebag and Vinnie.
love watching new folks hear Dimebag play for the 1st time
Killer band yeah 🤘😆🤘🎸🎸🎸🥁🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Poor Amber looks scared before it started. RIP Dimebag and Vinny. They were brothers, guitar and drums respectfully. Dimebag was murdered on stage in the band he was in after Pantera, it was a Pantera fan that was pissed they broke up. Such a great band
Love that song. They hailed from Arlington TX, and the Abbott brothers are buried side by side. A fence and gate has been installed to keep fans from defacing the grave covers.
5:30 I loved your reflexion, man. i started like at 14 yo and now 28 i keep crying and getting energyzed by this beautiful genre. also keep playing my guitar and having nice times with myself
Awesome selection
LOL my brother and his best friend used to listen to them all the time back in the day. So funny.
My husband introduced me to this song! Super hard and metal \m/ \m/
I leave this comment on all the PanterA reactions: I've always said that PanterA has two lead singers. One of them just happens to sing through his Guitar.
as an amateur musician i will try to explain this "dont pause solos" phrase. it's like you have a house, and then solo makes you travel around some random places they want to make you travel (you will imagine them, as if reading a book in which you imagine the people) around and then go back to home. in musical terms it normaly starts and ends in some concrete notes, based in theory, armonized stuff, scales etc etc. so is important to listen a solo from the beggining, as it normaly says in which place you are. like a table game with a house square and then a road and back to home square. they telling u which game is in the beggining
