Honestly, with how large they are compared to IRL dinosaurs, they're probably around the six to eight ton range, which is even more terrifying when one realizes those things are charging towards you.

Looking at the body proportions. The bastilodon is easily 10-15 ton maybe more or less depending on how heavy the armor is. The stegadon is also considerably larger than a triceratops and very fat. Only the carnosaur is more slender than a t rex

The characterization of Bastilodons as happy guys that just wanna play, while Stegadons are pissed off murder herbivores just feels right.

Just watching these big dino fellas waddle their way into a charge is adorable... Also I must warn you if the Wood Elves come to pester you, DO NOT FIGHT their settlement with just one army. Those leaf lovers deal an unfair amount of damage and just refuse no rout no matter what.

I have run into the same problem. My Kislevite patriarch doomstack can solo armies back to back no problem... except for wood elves.

I don't know about the bastilodons, but a fun fact; beasts of Nurgle ARE canonically just playing. They just don't understand that they're half-ton wads of toxic pestilence, so they kill their playmates by accident.

They eventually get depressed if nobody survives playing with them for long enough, and will go to a swamp to die of depression. Before cocooning themselves in depression and resentment, and transforming into giant murder wasps to kill everyone that refused to play with them

Stegadons are good at grinding infantry, but carnosaurs break armies' back by hunting down and annihilating characters and leaders.

Carnosaur are a specialist unit dedicated to hunting and killing enemy monsters, Stegadons are slower but okay at everything else

Carnosaurs are one of those units that used to be OP and then got nerfed to the ground. Sadly Lizardmen is rife with these kinds of units.

This play through is just awesome. Every single dino-charge is so incredibly satisfying XD

Thank you for going more into your strategy on the campaign map.

I did the math and they heal a total of 70%hp each. I'm pretty sure that the arks of sotek typically do over double the damage of a non-healed revivification crystal variant, so while they do have their place (healing high-value targets) they aren't the best to spam IMO. Also, in a normal campaign a Life Slann is a no-brainer for the Dino bois which makes them obsolete.

​@@BrilliantStupidity in my experience, being able to end every small battle at max health so you can just keep going without needing to replenish is more valuable than dealing slightly more dps so in one big battle ark of sotek might be better but in a long series of easy small battles revification crystals' sustainability is better

For some reason thorek always declares war on me as well in any campaign I play in that area even if I have positive relations with him Guess he doesn't care much for his expedition

I love dino rush, but truthfully one of my favorite lizard men armies is full force fire. Fire slan, salamanders, Fire leach bolas, fire banners to put on monsters or infantry and then just light everyone the hell up. On ya and the ever beautiful solar engine.

I've been trying to do something similar but with Cold Ones / Horned Ones. Love them so much. But quite hard when nothing buffs them. Red Crested Skink seems to be the way though. Alternatively you could do Dark Elf cold ones and use Rakarth or a generic Beast Master. (I suggest doing that as a campaign challenge given how you need a T4 to start receuiting cold ones.)

It’s funny the bug on the dwarf map has been a thing since before the patch. I remember it happened to me early on into the chaos dwarf release

If there's one thing I've learned from Total War: Warhammer III it is to never voice your plan because the game is always listening and just loves to throw a wrench into your forehead and say "F your plan!"

as a v casual total war warhammer player but a massive warhammer nerd, its hella fun. dont feel the need to crank up the difficulty because the AI straight up cheats most of the time

I probably wouldn't show you up with them as I've barely ever played them haha. A lot of the reason I do so well most of the time is that I'm super familiar with the campaigns I'm playing, I have dozens of playthroughs on most of the LL's I use in these challenges.

@@BrilliantStupidity you could try a necrofex only campaign with noctilus. he starts with one and he eventually get's one as a mount. Also it's pretty easy to pick and choose your fights and stay on the move as your only settlement and your capital are in the middle of the ocean.

I know stegadons and bastilladons are supposed to be herbivores but those teeth ain't looking like grass munching teeth

The way to expand into good land for Kroq-Gar, without fighting other lizardmen directly, is going through the Devil's Backbone which leads to the desert (and only to the badlands if you go further north) and then start dunking on the Tomb Kings. And that is then the rest of the campaign basically. The map is a bit bigger now, but in WH2 those were the only settlements that allowed you to link up your bottom-right of the map hermit kingdom with the rest of the world. They were the *most important* two settlements in Kroq-Gar's empire, as the vast.vast majority of your trade would flow through there, and the only way to start conquering good territory, mountains everywhere else. . The two settlements I am talking about are those two settlements you sold back to Thorek.
