Eugene Green the 00s was clearly inferior to the 90s and he mentioned why. In fact, the late 00s as far as hip hop goes in the mainstream isn’t much different from the 10s. You can blame this on the telecommunications act of 1996. Record labels and radio stations got way to much power. There’s a reason why you started hearing the same five or six songs every hour.

They do but they don't get played on mainstream radio. Ravynn Lenae and Topaz Jones, The Internet, and a few artist have brought back the sound but again they are underrated because the are considered not mainstream enough or fit today's sound, which sucks. Blame the radio producers of today. Sad you have to search for gems today. So also Faith Evans paired up with a new artist. The son us called Between the Lines.

Its crazy because this is actually one of their crossover hits and i think was actually their biggest hit to date. Its just ppl tend to forget about them and think that their songs like "Kissin you" and "Cant you see" were more bigger hits for them when actually this was bigger than any of their hits.. As far as radio plays sells and billboard charts. Idk..I think more of urban or tge streets tend to forget about this more because it had more of a "pop" feel than any of their other hits... So they sleep on it or forgot about it... But research it.. It became their biggest hit worldwide etc...

my fave part is at 2:34 when they break it down and the harmonizing begins! EPIC!
