Keep in mind that we're told that prior to the movie humans offered the Na'vi literally anything they could possibly imagine and more for the rights to mine that mineral, and the fact that we needed it to save our planet probably came up in those conversations. They basically said that a tree was more important than our entire species and that nothing we had was worth more to them than watching our civilization die a slow and painful death. And they are supposed to be the good guys.

However, there is a large difference between colonized and terraformed. While colonies could exist, they could not exist at the scale to sustain the entire human race, and, more importantly, they cannot sustain themselves on their own.

I would assume to alot of people it is specifically white people vs aliens not humans vs aliens. Lot of 40K fans seem to support the Empire thinking every other human race/genetic cluster but White people have been genocided by the Empire(seen it in a few comments) I don't know if it is true but given the 40K Empire is very North-South Central European and the Human company in Avatar is very American, given the racial identitarism of modern day identification, supporting the seemingly white empire may be seen as as much of a betrayal as supporting the Xenos. James Cameron continues to give plot armor protection to the Na'Vi solely to maintain his blue space monkey fetish a little longer and continue imagining himself in an orgy of epic proportions with these 'things'. In reality, with how advanced bioengineering and biotechnology appears to be in Avatar, the RDA could simply take any strain of Influenza, the family of viruses responsible for the common flu, and modify it into a biological weapon harmless to human beings but highly lethal to the natives, especially considering how fast and contagious the flu is. Then they could simply clear the rest of Pandora without having fired a single bullet. All they would have to do is advance and just occupy the territory.

Nah, all the RDA would have to do would be to simply take some strain of the flu virus, modify it in such a way that it is harmless to humans and other life forms brought from the Earth, but designed to attack and kill NaVi DNA. In that case and with few scientists among the natives, all the RDA would have to do is simply advance and occupy the territory, all without technically having fired a single bullet.
