Who said he ain’t humanity’s hero? I haven’t seen the second movie, but he was right that Sully betrayed his own kind… made what could have been coexistence into a clash of civilisation… one that most likely neither will survive unscarred. And from what I have heard… he regrouped in hell, and went back for another round.

He is a hero, Humanity NEEDED the resource to continue its existence, and most encounter between Man-Na'Vi have been Na'Vi instigated through hostilities, they are a warrior race, notice how you see few if any elderly in their ranks? and their connection with nature culls their population when "called upon", they cannot innovate, they cannot create, they are animals. I'm not calling for their genocide, but they've been quite hostile(understandable, a new race from beyond the stars lands on your home), but Jake betrayed Humanity for some xeno pussy. And a question I ask to Na'Vi apologizers, if your family was under threat, and you had the power to change their fate, would you? wouldn't you do almost anything for them? Quaritch did what he felt best for Mankind. Btw, I am not trying to sound rude/arrogant here, but, my watchings into more Avatar lore lately alongside talking about them, Humanity is doing what it needs to do.

"Spare us your pity, alien. You gush about your connection with nature, your primal wisdom, but what has it brought you? Where are your marvels of engineering? Your voyages of discovery? Your great insight into the nature of the universe? Even at our basest, when we dressed as you do, dwelt as you do, hunted as you do, lived as you do, we did more than merely survive. We built wonders. We made great journeys. We forged epics. You have not. You speak so proudly of the plugs dangling from your skulls, little realizing that they are but strings and you puppets. What little you have accomplished you attribute to the wisdom of your goddess, who is nothing but the voices of your dead echoing for all eternity. She moors you to the past, serving as a leash that keeps you as little better than apes, sad parodies of civilization that lack that special spark to become something more. We have come to your world in search of resources. Whether your actions drive us back or we take what we want and move on, the outcome is the same. We will depart from your wretched planet, leaving you behind. And in a thousand years, you will not have changed from this contact with another world. You will remain in your trees, hunting your prey, communing with your goddess, until your sun burns out and your world dies. And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us."

Leaving this here so I can come back to it. But it’s a very spot on quote; Eywa is a shackle for the Na’vi. She won’t let them advance, since to advance further they’d need agriculture, and that would involve deforestation to make room for crops and livestock. I wonder if that will be the driving force for why the Fire People of the Ash Lands are to be the primary antagonists in the third instalment; they ditch their shackles in order to progress technologically and societally.

Quaritch was a good guy in an inappropriate circumstance. His job was to make sure the mining company didn't face security issues. He did everything he could for that. He let the scientists try the diplomatic route first. And he gave them years. Did he ask Jake to be a mole while he was being a Naavi? Yes - that's called espionage 101. You spy not only on enemies, but also your allies. Every one who is not already an enemy, is a potential enemy. Even after Jake turned coat and attacked the bulldozers, did he not offer the scientists another chance? It was only when he saw that Jake's last ditch attempt to make the Naavi had failed, that he gave the green light to destroy the tree. And his pre-emtpive strike on the Naavi mobilization centre? He saw thousands of Naavi converging in the area, and he suspected hostile intent. He clearly saw this as preparation for a retaliatory strike. A preemptive strike was the only way to decisively wipe out the threat once and for all.

Quaritch is the hero of Avatar. Badass, tough, a damn fine military commander, and not afraid to get on the front line of combat with his soldiers. Every action Quaritch took in the movie was calculated, and he never killed Na'vi unless he knew he had to/was provoked. The Na'vi attacked on sight, ruthlessly killing humans with no remorse. Only when the Na'vi amassed a force big enough to wipe out the entire RDA operation on Pandora did Quaritch lead an assault on them, when he could have done so much earlier with far fewer human casualties. The fact that humanity could easily have exterminated every single Na'vi without even trying (as displayed in Avatar 2) shows that ultimately, the steps Quaritch and the humans took towards attempting to establish peace with the Na'vi proves that they were morally justified in every action throughout the film. Plus the humans are way cooler, the marines are so badass and I would much rather fight alongside an AMP suit than some goofy dragon lizard.

I was genuinely surprised he has no military background. He gets being senior leadership so right. There is a degree of necessary, roughness and aggression, inherent in all military positions, because it is fundamentally the business of violence. Beyond that, the Colonel shows excellent leadership qualities. He is adaptable. He is willing to listen to reason, he is willing to try multiple approaches to solve a problem, he is adaptable, he has keen judgement, he is thrifty with resources, he is courteous, he is professional, he maintains discipline, and he comports all of this with a proper military bearing and supremacy of the mission. Anyone should be proud to serve under him.

Just think the main character was a traitor and the “villain” was a hero. He may have made a few wrong moves but negotiating with the na’vi wouldn’t have worked out either, you saw how aggressive they were against their own kind at points, never mind outsiders like humans. There isn’t much people won’t do to protect their loved ones. Since think about it if the roles were reversed and it was on earth, the Na’vi would turn on the humans and try to do the exact same thing. In the end we’re all cruel and unpredictable when it comes to saving our own.

Quaritch was and probably still is humanities best hope for survival. I don't think his story ends the way a lot of people think it does. He has a mission, save humanity. He'll kill indiscriminately, burn villages, go on a shock an awe campaign, he fucking DIED. He's gonna do what he has to do to make that happen. However, I think after Way of Water, Quaritch is already beginning to see that the "All stick" approach may not work afterall. At some point, he's gonna have to make a judgment call to save humanity that will likely put himself and the RDA at odds, but ultimately remain an outsider and murderer to the Na'vi.

Apparently, in the next film, they will be. The Fire People of the Ash Lands. And I don’t think it’ll be because Sully and his family have five fingers, but more likely because they’ve abandoned Eywa in order to advance, and might even be communicating with the Humans in order to learn the secrets of their weapons. To put it simply, the Humans take the backseat. But we’ll probably see more of Quaritch.

Quaritch is a hero of humanity and this movie. Let's start from his appearence, he have multiple scars on his head and body, after encounter with fauna of Pandora, don't know exactly what creature was that viperwolf or small thanator, they really quite big and strong for Na'Vi nevermind humans, but despite that Quaritch was still able to fight back, survive and probably kill that animal, then on safety briefing he warns newcomers about local fauna and natives so they'd be careful, showing he doesn't want his men to get even wounded nevermind getting killed. Caring a lot about his colleagues. Then when time has come to bring down the Hometree, remember before that he watched video of his troops killed by Na'Vi, that should immediatly give him green light to kill any hostile Na'Vi and destroy their Hometree immediately, but still he was patient trying to solve this more humane firing gas bombs to disperse them from the area to cause low casualties. Now when traitors were escaping from base. Before running out the door he shouted to his personel "mask on" because he cared about their lives more than his own, not even wearing his mask holding his breath and shooting at traitors. Even when they escaped and were too far away for him to shoot he continues to calmly stand there not even trying to return back inside to get some air, then his colleague ran up to him giving him the mask, Colonel shakes his head thus showing he thanks him and appreciates it. Damn, I'd die for commander like him. Now the war, I think we can all agree that despite the losses, he carried out a successful operation, killing a shitload of Na'Vi and if it weren’t for nature that rebelled, everything would have turned out as planned, later when Sully aproaches Quaritch's ship and breaching a hole with explosive, one more time Colonel comes out not wearing mask to end this asshole, after wasted attempt another explosion comes stunning him a little and flames him, yet he doesn't care about it or doesn't see it, just getting on his AMP suit only than noticed that he is on fire extinguishing it with bare hand. What a total badass. When he jumps out of ship, despite he left alone, he was still determined to fight for humans and never commited retreat or give up, no matter the odds and risk to his own life, still willing to complete his mission. When times comes to fight he actually beat Jake and Neytiri, if it wasn't the plot armor they'd be dead, but instead we're getting our hero killed by blue pussy. He is a tough nut for sure, getting shot in his chest 2 times by 2m long arrows he was still breathing and being alive at least for seconds, passing out looking at face of his enemy and sarcastically smiling. No fear at all! R.I.P. Colonel Miles Quaritch. Hero of Humanity. Your sacrifice and service will be honored and remembered. What I personally like about Quaritch that if you're on his side he will give you the respect you deserve and will stay true to his word if he promises to reward you for your hard work. But if you decide to betray him, he becomes your worst nightmare and will go through extreme measures to make sure you are eliminated and make your life a living hell. Quaritch treated Jake like his own, made a deal to return him his legs, and Sully just spat on all this and didn't even thank Miles, ended up betraying him, and all because of blue xeno pussy. Colonel should've get rid of their avatars when they came to destroy the Hometree, cuz the negotiations has failed and they don't need them anymore, and after destruction of Hometree return and kill Jake, Grace and Norm, not just put them in custody. They commited treason and must be executed. Unfortunatelly Miles paid with his life for his kindness and merciness. Now he returned as recom for revenge, and I really hope he won't turn and stays loyal to his cause by killing Jake and Neytiri. Also I like when in their battle on sinking ship Quaritch laughs just in Jake's face when they are trapped underwater, showing that he doesn't care at all about his death as recom now even though he died as human, he is like: He-he-he, it's just us Corporal, I die but you're coming with me. Fearless as hell! Now when he speaks to Neytiri saying: I owe you a death! God, that anger on his face and hate in his eyes towards her is absolutely stunning. I wan't him to succeed in killing this "sweet" couple. I don't care how Jake dies, he is just a traitor which needs to be dealt with, but Neytiri made this personal for Quaritch, since she is the one that killed him. I expect him to catch her, then torture and mutilate her so hard and brutal, so she'd beg him to kill her, but Quaritch won't, her death must be slow and painful. Imagine how his knife pierces into her, tearing her flesh and scratching on bones. What a delight and pleasure Quaritch would have while doing this, hearing her painful cries. Music to my ears. Quaritch=Hero! My fellow men and women, for Humanity, RDA and SecOps! Pandora will be ours! Semper Fi🫡
