Wow....this is kind of sensitive, but a much deeper analysis would probably delve into the fact that: - Tory represents the left-wing mentality, hardened from a lower and impoverished class, into modernity and complicated pragmatism, the masculine and tough type of girl. Cobra Kai (Yin) - Sam represents the right-wing mentality, sheltered, from high class and wealth, into tradition and simplistic morality, the soft and gentle kind of girl. Miyagi-Do (Yang). That is why most liberal fans generally love and defend Tory, and most conservative fans generally love and defend Sam. Most young Americans are liberal, so they obviously support Cobra Kai (Yin) and Tory much more than they do Sam.

@@evanmaldonado9799 Well, yeah, and most of the scenes with Tory and Sam on the LEFT and the RIGHT, respectively, like that Season 2 training exercise scene with music, or their Season 4 Tournament face-off. Their different martial arts uniforms (one black and the other white) also represent the deeper symbolism of East Asian Yin and Yang - Tory is Yin because she is anti-authority, anti-hierarchy, and anti-harmony, Sam is almost the complete exact OPPOSITE of that.

Cool analysis. I love them both, I just hate how the toxic tory stans overly defend tory just bc they like her better than sam. She tried to slice Sam's face and attack Sam in her own house over a kiss and those Tory stans are saying they would have done the same and that Tory should have done more damage. 🙄 They are far more psycho than Tory. At least Tory is trying to learn from her mistakes and do better. The toxic tory stans could learn a thing or two from her since they love her sm. Every Cobra Kai character has made mistakes, so it's just silly at this point to only pick on Sam for hers.😂😂

Understand that Tory has been n is in a lifestyle where she has been fighting every day n prob even when she was a young kid. It is only natural for one to possess unmatched speed n power n durability when the persons body n mind has been getting hit with stones constantly(Tory) Sam is more composed than Tory which is y she's more skilled. Plus her agility n fighting intelligence. But she does not possess the same power n toughness n speed that Tory has. Notice when they fight Torys hits are ALWAYS a smudge from making contact. But due to Sam's instincts n skill she easily makes up the difference. N another thing is that whenever they fought or train. Pay attention to their respective postures n stance. Tory has a full on aggressive stance that doesn't LIMIT her offense n allows her to be QUICK on her feet as well as being able to defend some attacks Sam has a stance that consists of a balance between offense n defense enabling her to AVOIDING many attacks as well as COUNTERING n retaliating with her own attack(s).

i’m getting real sick of everyone hating on sam. like for what? sure she didn’t stop hawk from breaking demitri’s arm and kissed miguel while dating robby… but that’s literally it. she hasn’t made any other mistake in all 5 seasons. u hate her cuz u ain’t her. tory, hawk, cobra kai as a whole, etc should be getting all the f*cking hate. they committed so many crimes, tory tries to kill sam twice but instead gets her ass handed to her, hawk and cobra kai trash miyagi do, hawk steals the medal of honor, hawk and cobra kai repeatedly hunt demitri down, hawk breaks demitri’s arm, tory, hawk and cobra kai break into the larusso’s home, etc and that’s all before stupid kenny starts to act up. all sam ever does is try to stand up to her bullies, show them not to hurt her friends and beats their asses when they physically harm one of her own. she wants revenge, doesn’t make her annoying or in the wrong, at all. not after all cobra kai did to her and miyagi do. she even saves tory… tory least of all deserves to be saved by sam, but sam forgave tory and saved her in a fight. sam deserves all the love tory & hawk get, sam > everyone else. people say if robby hadn’t interfered in the school fight that tory would’ve won in 30 secs… but let’s be real, if miguel hadn’t interfered sam would’ve won the pool side fight in 8 secs. sam had the tournament match against tory won 3-2 if the ref hadn’t been pre paid for. sam won the devon match 3-0 but bc the ref was pre paid for AGAIN she won 4-0. people say sam should’ve heard tory out… but like why? tory did nothing but attack sam, so why should sam show her mercy? tory has said “no mercy” at the school and sam’s home while attacking sam… tory is lucky that sam heard her out when she did and saved her ass in the big fight

Gee I don't know.. maybe its the fact that sam is an entitled spoiled little rich girl who can't accountability for her actions.. maybe it has to do with her dating kyler and only dumped him because she was trying to save her ass and sucking up to her odious friends who left her as soon as she became unpopular at school and only wanted miguel after the fight with kyler at school showing her thirst for violence..maybe her tendency to break up with miguel for no reason and him trying to apologize for any wrongdoing to her at the party when he was drunk and dated robby to make miguel jealous.. maybe the fact she starts almost every fight with tory or instigated them with tory and tory was only defending herself against Sam's continuous aggression even when tory is trying to just live her live sam free.. other than that...I have no idea it's quite a mystery XD

The only bad thing she did in s1 was not stand up for Aisha, which she did apologize to Aisha for, and after s1, she did stand up for her friends and become protective of them. The only thing she really did to Tory was accuse her of stealing, and it wasn't for no reason or to be mean. Tory stole alcohol, joked that she could steal silverware, and joked abt Sam's mom's wallet missing. Sam shouldn't have accused her, but she had valid reasons to suspect Tory of stealing. Also, Tory literally flirted with Miguel when she knew he still liked Sam and was ok with being Sam's rebound but then when Miguel cheats on her with Sam, she decides to slice Sam's face over it instead of accepting that her own bf was never all that into her. What Sam did was wrong, but Tory took it way too far and she should've been more mad at Miguel. On top of that, even after the cobras broke Demetri's arm and they won the arcade fight, tory and the other cobras still picked a fight in Sam's house. The school fight and house fight are why Sam had this grudge against Tory throughout s4 and most of s5. If Tory tried to shoot Sam, y'all will go out of your way to defend her just bc y'all like her better than sam. If Sam just wants to exchange some petty insults which is miniscule compared to everything Tory did, y'all will make her out to be the biggest devil. You say Sam doesn't take accountability, but that's so not true. She blamed herself for the school fight, arcade fight, and for Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang getting shut down. And y'all need to know what a spoiled brat actually is. Sam's parents have money, but she doesn't go around flaunting it nor does she put others down for not having as much as her. This has always been clear when she paid for her and Miguel's date at golf n stuff, gave Miguel a ride in her car, and she organized the fundraiser to pay for Miguel's surgery when Miguel told her his mom wouldn't be able to afford the surgery. Also, Sam literally forgave Tory and saved her from Master kim. Also, Sam had good reasons to break up with Miguel both times. In s1, she didn't like what Cobra Kai was turning him into. And you hate sam for using robby to get over Miguel when Miguel did the same thing using tory to get over sam. And in s5, she just needed some space and time for herself. She didn't stop loving him and she didn't blame him for kissing that girl. She was allowed to be sad. And Sam did explain to him why she broke up and they're back together. Every cobra kai character has made mistakes, so it's just super silly at this point to only pick on sam for it when nobody is perfect nor innocent.

Now having said that 1.She only confronted kyler when was around other people in the movie theater and only whispered it to him almost like she didn't really want to bring it up to him in the first place. More importantly why bring that in a movie theater of all places why not bring it up at a park or the school cafeteria or something that way you can adress it better and get a straight answer from him. She only cared about Eli and demetri once she had feelings for miguel before that she could care less about those two. To give you an example in s1 sam and Yasmine and moon were sitting at their usual table in the school cafeteria and Yasmine was making fun of demetri and Eli at the other table making fun of Eli's lip saying something along the lines "I wonder if he got that by blowing a lawnmower blade?" Both Yasmine and moon laughed about it while sam giggles and says Yasmine is mean to say that but thats about it nothing else is said or done about it until she confronts kyler in the movie theater. Not really she doesn't know where to go with kyler they didn't meet eye to eye on their relationship not that I approve of sexual Assault because I don't and I'm glad she put kyler in his place because that she isn't cool ever. Besides that she should have known better about cobra kai and their behavior after all her father went through you would think he would have at least mentioned cobra kai in the past before the show started to make sure they were aware of how dirty and exploiting they can be instead her father leaves her to make up her own conclusions about them leaving her to make poor decisions that left miguel in the wind and miguel she wasn't so sweet on either sure he was getting bad near the end of season 1 because of the cobra kai teachings but that's just it cobra kai saved Miguel's life if it weren't for cobra kai miguel might grow up to be a loser or dead if kyler had anything to say about it, miguel got better stronger and faster and became popular because of cobra kai in a way miguel made cobra kai because of the tournament so he got egotistical and mean just Johnny Lawrence did in karate kid 1 but miguel again grew out of it and became better for it. And yes tori has problems just like anybody else and she did mention both to aisha and Amanda larusso that she has been aggressive before even to the point of lethal intentions but she took Amanda's offer to see a therapist to try and fix those problems and she was actually a good friend to aisha Moreso that sam ever was. Yes she went too far in the school fight but that doesn't excuse kissing somebody else's boyfriend that's just childish and socially irresponsible they should have just talked it out or have had a Norma fight like most people. If sam was In the public she can handle herself I wouldn't be involved in anything that had sam or any other human being at risk that's just dumb and beneath me it's true tory is my favorite character and for good reason: she's smart, charming, loyal, and in my opinion second best fighter in the show besides miguel. Nobody's perfect and not everything is black and white life is Grey extremely Grey if you ask me.

She just didn't like that Miguel fought dirty against Robby and was acting all overly aggressive bc of it and was letting the no mercy creed badly influence him. Devon is the one girl that joined Cobra Kai without letting it ever badly influence her. And i do agree that tory is trying to improve herself. I love both tory and sam equally. They're both great characters. It just bugs me to no end to see most ppl overly defending her previous actions just bc they don't like sam. 😅😂 they're both allies now. No need to continuously pit them against each other

PLOT ARMOR and Tory is tough she is a survivor a fighter its not a façade or something she just discovered about herself (like Sam did) she has always been hell on wheels and tough as nails. If you got dragged 90% of the fight and you get on last punch/kick YOU DID NOT WIN!!!!!

@@Meme-jo7uj When did Tory ever apologise to Amanda , she just made a deal with her to get back to school and she didn’t follow that by going to prom with the intention of instigating things with Sam. Sam kicked Tory from the railing by herself with a slashed arm , she pinned her against the wall by herself also she won the fight against Tory and Tory only got the trophy because of Silver . If anyone has plot armour it’s Tory because she isn’t in jail . She felt guilt but not as much as Sam and didn’t go to jail or get paralysed or had PTSD when she herself started the fight. It’s shameful for her to paint herself tough despite loosing using brass knuckles. She is more of an entitled brat who acts like an idiot and risks her family and everyone for her ego
