This is the first reel mow of 2022. It does feel good to be out mowing but it has a long way to go to get the lawn back in shape after a LONG winter.

I feel like the lawn season officially starts when Connor has his first reel mow.
Nice mow pal
You made my Sunday evening ! Roasting Buffalo Wings and watching The Lawn Rebel !!! I just got my first looky Loos last week. It was the fire dept. . They passed by in there truck and turned around and pulled to my curb to compliment my yard. They asked if I liked my real mower and I said of course. I asked them if they had been watching any KZread lawn videos. I asked them if they knew who Ryan Knor was ? They said yes, so I told them they really need to be watching The Lawn Rebel!!! 😁
Wow, looking good for the first reel mow. Glad to see you back on the Tubes, brother!
Glad you’re feeling better! We missed you! Keep them coming…!
Instead of using the pro plugger in that spot, dig it up and cut out some of the grass along the fence line. Essentially using your turf as your own sod, just cut it deeper to make sure you have good soil in that area after the tree treatment killed it. Glad to see you again on Sunday nights
Last Aussie 😁. Good to see you’re better and out on the lawn , lots to do to get it back to schmick condition but that’s your forte. 😎
Those houses behind you are almost done. Crazy to see them being built in the backgrounds of your videos.
Connor mowing vids are the best.
Amazing lawn in an environment that doesn't support lawns - long winter short summer. You are a lawn wizard Connor! Respect!
I was just watching your previous vid when this popped up - Score!
Can’t wait till you start to plant and care for all your new neighbors yards. 😂
Great to see you feeling better again, pal!
Gotta love that first now! Good to see you back.
Can’t wait to see that tree area finally filled in. I’ll be watching to see what you do with it!
Glad to see ya back for this season! Love your videos!
Glad you’re back…great mow!
He’s back at it. Lawns going to be 🔥 in no time. 👍🏼
Glad to see you back in the lawn!
The lawn is looking good. Can't wait to see all those dahlias in the ground!
Man I'm so glad you are back. Lawn looking good pal.
Typing this before pressing play. I’ve missed your videos Connor. Been watching old ones to scratch the itch. Thanks for posting.
When is the Home Depot trip for annuals? Always like that one and your excitement!
I used to work at a golf course and worked on toro reel mowers constantly. For test strips we just used magazine paper cut into strips. Folded I half for fairway mowers and a single strip for the greens. Very satisfying to do.
Let the mowing season begin!
Connor please make a video planting the dahlias, great video brother 👍 🙏
It's nice to see you. Hope you are well. Greetings from Germany
Net first, but happy to be here.

Thank you Mikey
Get a 12" billy goat sod cutter. Nice and lightweight. Cut out the bad spots and then pick an area in the backyard where you designate as farm grass and cut out some nice sod and replace the bad spots in the front. Instant beatification. The sod cutter will give you the same depth of cut front and back so leveling isn't a problem. Just go over with a lawn roller a few times and water daily for a week or 2.

Hey connor, liked the edit you did with you talking on the right and you mowing on the left. Have you ever heard of a product called Prograss Herbicide? It's supposed to be able to treat poa annua in cool season lawns. I know you mentioned you have triv in the lawn, but I was wondering if you heard of this stuff and have ever tried it? It's very expensive at $500 for 2.5 gallons. I am impatient and want to get rid of my poa annua ASAP, but I must admit, last year, I had thick infestations of poa in my backyard, and over the summer I scalped the thickest parts of them with a bagger, then applied pre-emergents over those sections. Now I am seeing hardly any of those tale-tell poa seed heads in the back. I have a lot in the front yard because I didn't treat it because I was overseeding it last year.
How how does your grass look so good I like it so much I wish I had that come on
So late to the party today. Was doing my own weeknight lawn work yesterday. SpeedZone on the Charlie and new thistle sprouts, and installing rubber edging on the front rock bed. I'm sore today! Lol.

Have you ever used Golfco Competition Rollers and or JRM bed knifes/reels? Hearing a lot of great things about them.
With all these homes coming in, the soon to be question is “what fertilizer do you use?” They normally skip all the hard work we do and go strait to the fertilizer.

I got turned on to Anderson fertilizer last year and love it,,way better than Scott's but its pricey and only available online
Sometime I'd be curious to see how you keep your reels clean. I can't keep the grass from caking on the blades - even with light mows every other day.

Gotta wait till the grass is dryer.
I'm telling ya, do a test plot of mazama kgb. You will like it-uhlot.
My Bermuda is just started taking off here in AZ. It looks like I’m going to have a spurge issue though unfortunately.
You should swap out those MP rotators and put in regular rotors, the MP’s are really good for slopes and areas where you have super sandy soils. They have to run pretty long to put down the inches that regular pop ups and rotors put down.
Did you guys get snow a few days ago?
Florida first
If you come across any used ones for sale in the area. Please let me know. I am in your area, kinda. Just outside of slc. But I’m interested if you find a used one in decent shape. I know Jimmy Lewis is selling his John Deere.
What nozzles do u have
You should give pre germinating grass seed a try! Ryan Knorr is too scared to do it but it would especially make sense on your KBG to do it to make it pop up right away. Just need a couple 5 gal buckets and a 5 gal paint strainer, I did it with massive success this spring
@lawnrebel
2 жыл бұрын
i am thinking about doing a full reno on my front lawn there. I have so much poa that I think it may be the best option. I was thinking about pre germinating like you are saying. I have been thinking about doing it for a long time now.
@briana5444
2 жыл бұрын
@@lawnrebel I just did a Reno for the exact same reason haha Poa is a massive pain. Do it! There’s a good reason why a lot of the pros pre germinate haha and as long as the seed isn’t too wet when it’s time to spread then it doesn’t get very clumpy at all, I put Saran Wrap on top of the seed to keep moisture in and add a little bit of water each morning until it runs out of the bottom of the bucket then you know it’s fully hydrated, but once you feel it’s close to germinating pull back on adding water if you can then it won’t clump up and you can mix it with something to make it broadcast spreader compatible (just not fert or you’ll kill the seed, learned that the hard way lol)

@@lawnrebel why not just apply pre-m?
Real pisser offer I wasn't first
How long was the lawn before you hit it with the reel mower?
Why didn’t you bust out the tri-plex!?
Sir how do you keep your live edges so crisp? I can't keep a steady hand with the weed eater or a stick edger and ding up my edges every time.
How is it dry? Didn't you just get snow?
Connor, what are your front lawn dimensions? I heard you say in a few videos back that the 3100D has an 80" swath. My front lawn is about 130'x50', and I'm actually looking at a JD 2500B triplex. That one has about a 60" swath. Just thinking about how I'd make turns. I don't have the wide open lawn edges, and I'm thinking that it might be difficult turning at the ends of my passes. Do you have any complicated areas of your lawn where you can't drive out beyond the end of your pass to make a turn? Thanks!
What is your cut height? I just got a 90's John Deer 22.
Almost first!

my yard is nothing special but it's like a moon scape and super uneven. not sure the wife would let me get a dump truck of sand. is there a somewhat easy and cheap way to level it or do i just have to bite the bullet?
Some fertilizer and water, and it'll be green by next weekend.
