Tornado Sports Cars GT40 stand at the National Kit Car Show 2023, in Malvern
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Tornado Sportscars are one of longest established kit car manufacturers on the planet, having started producing the TSC GT40 in the late 1980s, and 2023 marks 34 years continuous production. Tornado not only produce the body and chassis, but an amazing number of parts are build in house so they are as close to original as possible. Add to that the option of carbon fibre or aluminium monocoque chassis, there are not many GT40 option Tornado cannot supply!

Tornado: The kit prices mentioned at the start of the video refer to a build-at-home turn key package, not a car ready to drive.

I was hoping you would cover the tornado stand. Absolutely fantastic video and Andrews car looks stunning. Thank you Trevor.
Im very interested in the Tornado kit. This year is the 60th year reunion for the Gt40 at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. You guys should bring a pair of cars to the event. You might even get a few orders from costumers there!!!! 👍👍👍👍
I'm building a 7,but have been watching Ratchet since his early days to keep my motivation up. I honestly thought this was his video at first. The guy is a perfectionist and did an AMAZING job with his build series. I picked up many tips that will translate over to my own build.
Another interesting video those cars really are special. Well done guys
I believe John Wyer built some aluminum monocoques for his GT-40 Gulf Team Cars. Certainly when they were raced as Mirages with the rounded roofs. These were not related to the DFV-powered cars. Maybe the '68 and '69 LeMans winners had the aluminum chassis? The car Miles was killed in was a J-Car, or GTP (later it became the Mk IV) which used an aluminum/honeycomb material for its monocoque chassis.
Both cars are fantastic.
Do these kits come in left hand drive?

So as long as it looks like a GT40 it's a GT40? OK.
£60k sounds like a bargain, although I wouldn't expect to get anywhere in good time, given that every time you stop you'll be engaged in conversation by men and boys.
That much money and you still need to trim the door to fit :(
