Great episode . Learned a lot . So many tricks and tips. Keep up the good work!
It would be nice, if in these meets with the pros, they would share real infos, like how you design the suspension, what to look for, what software to use, etc. Shortening a steering rack, for example, or do I need a carbon canister, to avoid the gas smell in the garage after a drive, or how many circuits are in a Locost, which body wire harness they would recommend(for Locost prices), how they made the windshield frame, how they dealt with the windshield glass, how they bent the aluminum sheets for the body work, etc.. Maybe even some registration examples, or needed lights(heights from the round), PCV is needed, (if not how they deal with those gases) to pass the inspection.
Good points and we are working on a show featuring exactly those types of topics.
I know exactly how it feels. Yes you are right. It’s important that you try to do every day a little bit. I took a long weekend off to get progress on my rear end and axle!
Rage cleaning! My new phrase for the day! Also…link to your channel?

Thank you

kzread.info/dash/bejne/gppk2dirpK6wiKg.html Save some money and get (make) rubber guards! I have a Caterham SV 450; the original stainless rear guards looked horrible fairly quickly as they get dented and stone pocked....this will quickly happen with carbon-fibre too, but rubber, way cheaper than either, just shrugs off stone damage. Simply cut from black rubber sheet1/8" thick....they look way nicer then stainless. Lighter too!
Very interesting video great ideas from these guys Thanks
This is great. ive struggled so much with that question. Time is thr biggest issue.
Yup! It is a marathon, not a sprint (whether it's a scratch build or a kit) but the smile on your face makes it all worthwhile.
great webinar, im in Scotland and got a Robin Hood series 2 [ Ford cortina 2l based], As well as a road legal i also hillclimb the car.
Glad you like it
Nice L322! Didn't know Van Dusen did this show. Only a week too late 😅
Ron Champions Locost 001 will be at Malvern Kit Car show 1st and 2nd June !!!
An Elise Turbo and Evora S are two cars in my garage. Love them both equally. Wasn't impressed at all with Emira test drive.
Emergency hair dresser required.
Lol 😆
Neither . Both Styling disasters . Lotus lost it from the Esprit onwards . These cars are too small and made only for hair stylists
The ellan is the best lotus
@fritzmuller8246 Someone is jealous and don't got no money and it's not me! 😂
@@SquiggyWigginz nah , I like my 355 , Dino , 356a and 27 classic 105 series Alfas and two 400 Hp Escorts MK1 and MK2 a bit too much to worry about my wealth . 😂I had a Lotus years ago . It was great ( Elan M 100turbo ) , but since the Halcyon days of the Esprit , the Lotus range is no more than a beach buggy on steroids . No excuses with that sort of design budget . And the SUV !!!? What on earth were they thinking ? The EVs will fail too . Sound fair to you cupcake ?
@fritzmuller8246 You have 0 content to back any of that up on your KZread. Plus, I can tell you are like 17 year old dreamer just from your grammer. Daddy won't even let you film his Kia Rio? Sad kiddo.
It’s Al G’s Locost McSorley home build! … and a beauty! - Weekend Blat #1 - Christmas Cheer! kzread.info_N1tM7Sx2W4?feature=share
Malvern is a great venue for sure, easy to get to from most parts of the country and in a fantastic setting. Last years event had a really positive vibe, everyone I spoke to said the show was a big success.
We had a brilliant time last year. And this year there is more going on !!! You are right, the whole place had a real buzz about it. Manufacturer stands we really busy and with orders plus the outside club displays were packed, great display of cars. Can't wait !
Evora all day, its just a better Lotus. Better engine / power, better aero, better sound, and worse comfort and sound system, so all around, its a better Lotus ! The Emira is a Lotus for the mass ! It's the brand strategy to try to touch more public that's all...
I'll take the Emira with a slight tune. It has the same engine (less power), better aero, sound between the cars would be the same with same exhaust, better comfort and better sound system (not that good overall). I'm pretty sure with the same power, the Emira will edge out the Evora on basically every track, as it has better grip and similar weight.
Couldn't agree more
Can't wait !!!
Stunning build and jealous of your workshop!
Troy is awesome 😎
Such a sweetheart, but the car is alright too
Mannnn i am really interested in this cars building video like a tutorial like that some thing
Look at those beautiful old cars. We know that most of the old cars were a bit draughty and a bit temperamental but beautiful lines and easy to work on. Not like the soulless mass produced plastic crap they sell today. Especially the all electric crap. Love it. 👍👍👍
I was absolutely gobsmacked! Beautiful and so rare.
Beautiful, but no start up?😞
It’s the ABFM and no start ups are allowed. … Sorry! … How about I ask for a shed visit?
To add to these two we have just bought another Jedi this time a mk6 (second hand) for considerably less than 10k with engine repairs and upgrades it will still be less than 10k
What bhp
The yellow Jedi has 203 as of the start of the year, the white OMS has 195 and we’ve just bought another Jedi fitted with a Yamaha R1 engine which I hope to get to the 190
@@reallybigkidd thank you those are good figures for a gsxr1000
@@LemonDrizzleGang the engines are a bit of a hybrid sharing parts of the 2017 gsx s1000 and the 2005-2008 GSXR, there is a little bit of performance tweaking inside. It’s a half and half engine I’ve been working on since 2021 which seems to give us great results. Since this video I’ve done a new engine for the Oms so it’s nearly the same spec as the Jedi. I’ve still got more to go with them but I’d rather build reliable than fragile with big power. The Oms has all the gear if we wanted to go to run on methanol. It’s an option but I’ve decided not to use it just yet.
I did sprints and hill climbs in the road car classes (until a slight mishap!). These things are absolutely awsome
i rember seeig a pre production article for the kindred spirit , in one of the magazines (around 1989) at the time it was going to be called the webs wonder - i was very intreasted as owned a renault 5
Are you able to find any stories on the deep sanderson 301?
I absolutely love the life story and the 301. Great idea to create a video.
Beautiful car
The problem with these cars is they handle too well and go too fast. It makes passing difficult, and the fun of racing is not going fast, but passing other cars. The INEX legend series 5/8 scale cars are much better and even cheaper ($5k used), and most of all, they have street tires, no wings, and too much power, so they are so hard to drive when you push them too far (which everyone does), so you can pass each other often. watch some videos of them racing on a course (not dirt), very exciting.
Well done to everyone, would loved to travel from East Anglia to join in, too short notice. 👍
Can we get some more footage of that raised cockpit crossbar section? I'm sure I could find it on the internet if I searched long enough.
On it! Will send pics
Good stuff! What a great car. Patrick at Premier Wiring is doing my loom, such a helpful guy.
Yes on all accounts! ... Locost #001 in awesome and we will be interviewing Matt Reid as well as Ronald Champion (we hope) at Malvern (National Kit Car Show) this year. ... Patrick is a great guy and so knowledgeable. ... Stay tuned! ... Lots of LIVE and KZreads coming soon!
How does a full-size human get in and out of these cars?
Good question! ... Actually the TMC Costin was (at the time) 5 inches wider than Caterham.
So as long as it looks like a GT40 it's a GT40? OK.
❤
Sweet car. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for your comment. If you’ve got a 7 story to tell, shoot us a message.
do they have VIN number?
I own a Marcos Mantula - i cant find one video on here of the Costin Amigo ok its rare but you would think someone might have done a piece on here.
Great video
Glad you enjoyed the video. We will have more Live and Recorded KZread videos coming from Malvern this year.
What's the song? Great car too, I used to have something similar with a rover V8. Now have a Morgan 3 wheeler replica.
Glad you like the vid and music. The music is from Epidemic Sound ... "Secret Lover" ... kzread.info/dash/bejne/lot3m6p_g9nLidI.htmlsi=wffCT8KCftRdQBBg
I have one of those garages & wish I had bought a plastic one. As you say the condensation is terrible, even after fitting ventilation & covering the inside of the roof with bubble wrap, sealing the concrete floor, I still had lots of problems with the MG getting rustier in the garage than it would have done under a decent car cover. It was at least dry to work in & wide enough to put the trailer alongside the MG. If anyone is thinking of storing a car longterm I would suggest you buy a wooden or plastic garage or use a carcoon inside. I moved the MG out & borrowed my mum's garage to finish the restoration.
Yes I agree totally. My XI is now in a concrete garage as the metal flat pack one being only temporary.
Apologies if you have already seen my comment but I could not see it listed. I have a much earlier Eleven and suffer as you described from harsh suspension - could you provide a few more details of the components you used please. Great video, super build. Jim
Hi Jim, Glad you liked the video but this is not my build. I wish it was. ... Fab car! We love helping builders share their stories. Some “Go Live” with us, some Stream a Recorded video and others send us voice recordings (with media to edit). It's all good! Please send me an email (see Channel page) and I will forward it to Morris (the builder). Cheers! 7Spot Jim
Hi Jim. Firstly, thank you for the compliments. It's almost time for an update video as I'm pretty close to applying for its IVA. Yes, I can pass all the details onto you with photos if that'll help? As suggested by Jim, please send him an email and he should then be able help us to connect. Cheers Morris.

What's with the sound quality and picture quality on this and some of your other videos ? I've been watching or trying to watch some of your streamed footage and it isn't working.
Hi, We are sorry about the stream feed. Our Livestreams are pre-set for 1080p but the quality of the broadcast is dependent on good cellular coverage. In order to stream successfully in 1080p, we need an upload speed of at least 5 Mbps. ... Unfortunately the cell service in the UK isn't all that great. ... Our apologies but ... that's the truth of how it works.
@@7Spot556 Maybe the live approach isn't the best approach if your intentions are to upload to youtube. Shoot the footage, do an edit and upload it . Also the guy holding the camera could be encouraged to point it at the subject matter rather than his face ! Sorry to be critical but this was painful to watch !
@@catherinewright8933 Thanks.
Im very interested in the Tornado kit. This year is the 60th year reunion for the Gt40 at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. You guys should bring a pair of cars to the event. You might even get a few orders from costumers there!!!! 👍👍👍👍
Does anyone know why they cover the slick tyres?
They cover them as they are warm and therefore sticky. They'd pick up rubbish and gravel/stones on the way to the start so keep them wrapped to maximise the start
Brilliant work weldone lads .hat tip
Thanks Paul! Next episode … Kingfisher, the Midas touch and interesting stories
