Tornado of Souls: learning progress

Tornado of Souls solo by Megadeth. Solo composed by Marry Friedman. This is at very low speed and and not relaxed at the end, but is coming along. Still needs a lot of work of course and then practice with speed. I can play the first 2/3 at tempo, but the last bit is the weirdest and coolest to play. So much musicality in Marty Freidmans playing!

Ive started using the Moises app since this vid. I'm closer to learning it all but working on speed. The app allows for full in key tempo changes, as well as, key signature changes if it's wanted. Pretty cool tech. The WTF part makes little sense to me if I think of it linearly.....but I am realizing if I look at it as chords and playing within them it makes more sense. The solo is generating chords in harmony with the second guitar part. I saw a guy play the WTF part with like all appegios and it clicked for me. Also it's fucked that guy did that!
