Tormek T8 - Kitchen knife sharpening + tomato & paper trick
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Sharpening a kitchen knife sharpening on my Tormek T-8, with the tomato and paper trick!
Here I take another kitchen knife and give it some really nasty beatings.. It's 10 years old and has been discarded many years ago. So why not?!
Filming this took 1-2 hours but this can easily be done in about 5-10 minutes.. Or less if you stick with the SG-250 stone.
There's a lot of comments about sharpening knives on the Tormek T8 vs. flat stones. Some people prefer flat stones over a Tormek and of course.. I would do the same, if you only need to sharpen a couple of knives or one.
But when you sharpen 20, 50 or even 100 at the time, this machine can't be beaten by flat stones.
I use this for almost all my sharpening: axes, knives, gouges, turning tools etc. And of course for customers: scissors, kitchenknives etc.
ASMR for the people!

Best sharpening video I’ve ever seen. Watched a lot but this is the only one I didn’t find anything to complain about.
Tomato and paper shaving, this is a first for me! Watching this makes you want to have such a round, self-turning & watering whetstone.
Szeretném megtanulni! Csodálatos !!!!!
Never seen cutting a paper like this; …. You’re a Master 😌
Wow! What a sharp result! Respect to real Pro! 👍👍👍
Beautifull machine and craftmanship dude. Kudos.
Talk about set up, you have it down pat. Thanks for posting.
Very therapeutic to watch.
Ich hab das Gerät zwar nicht aber es ist richtig nice zu sehen was man damit rausholen kann...klasse Video
Awesome job I'm one who believes that you sharpen/cut the steel into/towards the blade not away from it creating a burr or roll out same way I sharpen into my bar on my stihl chainsaw chain into the tooth or cutting edge not away from it love the informative videos no ego of so much meaningless talk as 90% of all youtube videos thank you

The second wheel you put on I assume was a finer grit wheel? Just wondering where you purchased that, couldn’t find it on their site. Great job, awesome video, thanks!
I need one of these, my God is that satisfying
Excellent, precise.

my grandpa used to do this at my village, of course one hand spinning the will and the other sharpening it. No electricity or a holder like this, everything manual and self control.
Looks like a very good product. It better be for the price of the T-8
I actually cried out loud when you made the first nick in the knife... my wife looked at me like I was insane...

Wow. Super Sharp Man. Whoooooooooo.
That hurt my ears when you ran it over the tormek wheel! hahaha. Great video!!
Verry Relaxing
That’s lovely!
I audibly gasped when he slapped that chisel into the edge, oh god. I thought he was just gonna drag it across the edge to dull it >_ Though when you have a tormek even a chunk like that aint hard to get rid of I'm sure.
Excellent !
Great work

Wow what a nice top machine , job well done , shame not having this machine here in Brazil , if you had a more compact version to send to us , I sharpen hairdressing scissors and knives but my machine is very rustic so changing the grinding wheel is difficult and dresar also , if you have something used there even get in touch , thank you .
Nice one ! 👌👌 thanx

Great work, my question:the 1st stone SG250, what was the 2nd stone. thanks
Great, i have the similar tool at home, i'll repair it and try to use for sharpening my knives...🤔😏
what a delight to finally see someone dressing and using a wet stone, and have it traveling towards the blade as it should. most of the so called tool sharpening videos make me wince when i see sparks flying of the metal on a dry stone that is revolving far far to fast.

@michaelmennuti4414
Жыл бұрын
@@OllieVK a lot of water stones are soft enough that the edge digging in can actually be a problem, much as you wouldn’t strop a blade on leather towards the edge. I would be surprised if the sharpening tools a machinist used were soft like that.

Perfekt!
That was awesome to watch. Great job! You should put description links in for anyone who wants to purchase the tools you used in you vid. From the machine, to the stones, to the control apparatus that guides the knife angle straight across to that knife holder clamp that goes across the knife angle apparatus. Again, thumbs up and super cool vid. Thanks for it.

Hello Richard! Congratulations, that’s one bad addiction you just started ;) I always sharpen knives at 20-25 degrees.. that works for me. But just play around. Less angle means very sharp, but not durable at all. Big angle means less sharp but very durable.
Great job! I think? Not a clue as to what or why you did what you did. Some context to why you did everything you did would be nice. I could show you how to tune drums and guitars but why I did each step would not mean squat without why I did them.
To mi się podoba.
