I just turned 63 and all my life I was programed to eat three meals a day with maybe a snack or two in between. About 18 years ago I thought I was going to have to start taking High blood pressure meds. My doctor got me to trying fasting first to see if it would help me. It did and I never looked back and to this day I am not on any kind of medication where everyone I know family and friends are on every kind of meds for something. I have always been athletic which helps and I still am and I feel like a twenty five yr old. I eat one meal a day and sometimes I skip that if I'm not hungry. When I have a meal I always eat about a cup to a cup and a half of Sauerkraut to get my gut bacteria in order. Your immune system starts in the gut. Fasting will save your life.

I’m dyslexic and all the medical stuff takes a while to sink in, so I wake at 8am walk my dog, so by 11am I’m usually hungry or even 12, whatever. Do I then have 2 meals within the 8 hours and then I stop eating until the next day? I just need very simple easy to follow steps, with 8 to 16 to 20 to 24 hours to 3-5 days and so on. Thank you.

Once I realised my stomach pain, shakes and weakness was from addiction not hunger I was liberated. I realised I was addicted to salt sugar and fat. Have been fasting periodically over a year now. First just lengthening time between meals then 24 hr fast then 36 hr fas then 5 day fasts. I think it really helped to have been off sugar , dairy for a couple of years and meat fish, eggs and chicken and oils so I experienced much less withdrawal. I found the longer I fasted the stronger I felt. I have now done 4 x 10 day fasts. I'm WFPB and OMAD. If I go off the rails I fast for a day or so... But I know I could go back any day to sugar fat and salt...I'm an addict. Most humbling and this motivates me. I feel so much better now . I'm 68. I thank the Lord for drs such as you.:)

I've tried the low fat diets, low calorie diets and they worked for a bit but still didn't really make me feel that great. I then discovered that the carbohydrate is what was making me fat and feel tired all the time. Also I discovered that eating only once or twice a day really make me feel great. Now I just eat foods low in sugar and carbs, I've found that there are great replacements for those so I don't feel like I'm missing out on my favorite foods. I also eat foods that people think are bad, like butter, cheese and eggs and other foods high in fat like avocadoes, my labs are actually better since eating these things, my labs are normal.

Some have been receptive to it while others not so much, but I’m hoping that it will at least make them think about it. I also share your videos with them. I really like when you talk about fasting and exercising and also when you talk about stem cells that our bodies produce. I would love to learn more about that! And I love that you don't sugar-coat any of your discussions. You just give it to us straight. Thank you so much, Dr. Jamnadas!🙏

Thank you for posting new (or new to your KZread followers) content! I follow OMAD because of YOU, and Dr Jason Fung. It's worth noting that the success of your videos is not only about content, but you have the most charming, and relatable manner of speaking - it's infectious (pun intended!) I always tell people that motivation is like a muscle that needs to be exercised with new information. Whenever I feel like jumping off the fasting ship, I re-watch your videos. Please post more often. You're literally saving lives via social media.

I love listening to you !! You make fasting so easy ! Eat one time then fast. Feast then fast. How simple is that? I have researched online about fasting and at the end of these articles my brain was so stressed out on the do’s and don’t’s. I’ve eliminated bread, processed foods, cheese and dairy, incorporated more homemade vegetable soup, bone broth, probiotics, walnuts. Good foods, the list goes on. And they taste soooo good now. I’m not doubled over with stomach pain and heartburn or bloat. My stomach is happy again. My internal organs are high fiving each other. I’m not “hangry”. My only regret is I didn’t do this decades ago. You are my God send !! ❤️

I'm 70 years old and my husband has stopped questioning me about it, but thinks I've lost my mind. I have non stop energy and have been that way all my life. I snowboard and mountain bike (trail ride) I have multiple hobbies and I work part time because I like what i do. I think you are an awesome doctor and I really love your videos because they are informative and you give sound advice based on research and experience. I just love you and what you share with the world!! I pass on your videos to everyone I k know and I follow your teachings as a 53 year old woman. My father lives in Palm Beach, Florida. He is 77 years old and suffering with so many illnesses. High Blood Pressure, AFib and passing out on occasion, pacemaker recently installed, Blindness in one eye, severe sinus attacks, asthma, and respiratory issues, Arthritis, residuals from Shingles, and he has days where he just feels horrible and can’t be productive. He works out doing cardio as often as he can. And really enjoys it. I feel so horrible for him! And it saddens me and our family. I can’t seem to get him to buy into a fasting lifestyle! And I just don’t know what to do!! He has so many prescriptions and so many different doctors! He’s been retired for quite a long time, but going to the doctors office is like a full time job now! Every day it’s an appointment with some doctor for something that he is suffering with. He now has a concierge doctor to help him manage it all, but I have been begging him to come see you!!!!

I'm off my blood pressure meds, my osteoarthritis pain is so much better and my asthma is gone. I swim laps and I'm very active. When people start pushing food at me and telling me it's okay to have this junk now and then I just say I really don't want or like that anymore. If they push I ask them if they would push a recovering alcoholic to drink once in awhile? Then they seem to get it and make the connection. I'm 59 and loving my new life! I feel the best I've ever felt. Thank you for all you do 🙏😊

Years ago I was over 300 lbs and lost 130 lbs. I ended up gaining it all back. I recently tried counting calories staying in a deficit and exercising but I lost 35 lbs and then stopped losing weight. And I realized that the way I lost all the weight before was OMAD I was in college and was just so busy during the day that I didn't have time eat until I got home. So I figured I should try intermittent fasting again seeing that it already worked once hopefully it'll work again. I'm on day 3 of 16/8 and I already feel better. I'm starting slow but soon I'll switch to 17/7 then 18/6. My diet will be more like flexible dieting. I will try and eat as many whole foods as possible but occasionally I'm still going to eat the processed foods that I enjoy. I know that I'm a food addict but I'm not willing to completely cut myself off. Hats off to those who can but I just can't imagine not having some pizza from time to time or a cheese burger and some fries.

My problem is that I am a food junkie just the same as I was an alcoholic (which I also believe is related to the sugar in the alcohol) and so I must look forward and never look back with what foods I view as enjoyable. I can go a long time without a Dr. Pepper and a pizza but the moment I indulge I find I begin eating those foods more often again. Time and time again. A great book to help people with our brainwashed minds regarding enjoyable foods is Allen Carr’s “The Easy Way to Lose Weight.” You will never look at junk food the same again. He also has a book out there for people with an alcohol problem called “stop drinking now” which my husband and I used 6 years ago and we both stopped drinking and haven’t had a drink since and am loving life without alcohol and I have no cravings. Hope this post can encourage others.
