I keep coming back to this series of your videos. I must say I love the videos. I've picked up some of my most favourites from this video series. Fighting Formations most notably.

CoH Awakening the Bear is my current favorite one, mainly because I have a person to play it with but also because every game so far has been close, I have never lost by a wide margin or won by a wide margin.

Great list! You forgot Band of Brothers: Ghost Panzer though. It takes the same system you liked in Band of Brothers: Screaming Eagles and streamline it a bit more. In addition it has much more interesting scenarios.

it was interesting to listen to your favorite list. I note the absence of such classic as Trial os Strengh (Panther Games) or of OCS titles - everyone of them definitely on my top ten list, with Enemy at the Gates number 1. you don't like the system or you have not tried it?

I bought the 3 core games and the 5 expansions in digital/download editions (excluding Pocket Battles) on Wargame Vault for $125 US. It does take away from the production values, but also from the $500+ price tag. It is a great way to try the whole system at the price of one or two games if you enjoy print-and-play.

I found it to be quite complex and cumbersome compared to many excellent out-of-the-box solo games, but I may give it another try. It has received high praise. The Conflict of Heroes series is excellent, although I have reservations about the 3rd edition play-system changes in Storms of Steel.

dale C TRC is still a milestone in hex/counter wargaming. The huge map coupled with a manageable number of units and 2nd impulse mechanised exploit is breath taking because of its ... 6 pages of rules. I played War in the East for 3 months solo - a beast - and TRC covered 80% of theSE operations in a game that can be played in 3 hours per Barbarossa scenario. TRC is certainly better than most wargames in that top 10. Certainly the intro Battle for Moscow falls complete fat compared to TRC.
