    I know you said 'not the first required boss', but the very first fight in Final Fantasy Tactics is memorable. You literally have to go out of your way to lose that fight by having Ramza attack Gafgarion and Agrias, as well as the others on your side. And here's the kicker: if you manage to do this, it freezes your game. The game literally had nothing programmed for if the fight was somehow lost. So you have to reset, and try again without screwing around.

And it only took, what, 10 games to get that improvement? Man, Kingdom Hearts is so confusing. 5: Now I want cotton candy. 4: Not much to say on this one. 3: I come to this channel to AVOID having to think about stuff from school. 2: "And no, he's not a Robot Master who's power is depression." While I know that they can in the Mega Man X series, can a robot actually get depressed? 1: I don't know of anybody who would go to that kind of effort.

    In the case of #1, the kicker is that to even *reach* that boss, you first have to defeat Braska's Final Aeon (who is by no means a pushover, he is fully capable of sending you to the Game Over screen if given a chance....unless you grinded levels and such to an absurd degree), and *then* you have to fight and kill corrupted versions of each of your own Aeons (summons), including any optional Aeons like Yojimbo or the Magus Sisters, one by one (which also means that you can't use any of your summons against Yu Yevon either), and the Final Aeon as well as your own corrupted Aeons are very much capable of killing you....but Yu Yevon is not. So, to lose to Yu Yevon, you first have to go through a legitimately challenging "Boss Rush" scenario, and once you do so, *then* you can go to the convoluted effort of getting a Game Over against Yu Yevon. And when you have to fight your own Aeons? If you went to the trouble of getting Yojimbo, there is a legitimate chance that the corrupted Yojimbo could just use Zanmato on you for an instant Game Over, as Zanmato is a guaranteed one-hit-kill on literally *ANYTHING* in the game....*INCLUDING BOSSES* !!!! ....Not even Penance, the absolute hardest boss (and a completely optional one) in the entire game can still be insta-killed by Zanmato. And the corrupted Bahamut could hit you with Megaflare for massive damage to your entire party as well.

    I did not do much level grinding but I did get Yunas ultimate wespon which is easy to get and among other things it gives tripple SP and the monster inside Sin give good exp and I always take good care of my Aeons. I dont do a lot if grinding. Only sometimes foree Items I need to fore teaching Aeons Skills. Bahamut can effortlesly dominate Braskas Aeon. The Aeons in FFX are so powerful and fun to use. I even came up with a way to solo Yunalesca with Bahamut. Funny how when they fight fore me they are super useful but when Yu Yevon takes cintroll if them they make it very easy fore me I usually just summon Anima and one shoot all the other Aeons with Pain. Meybe I use a saved up Aeon Overdrive fore the Magus Sisters and when Anima is the last Aeon left I oneshoot her with Yunas Holy spell. You do have Auto live in the fight against the Aeons aswell so Yojinbos Zanmatou can not give you a game over right? He never used it on me becuse he dies in one hit.

  • @gamester512

    @gamester512

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@sofaris576 Nope. Zanmato *will* result in a Game Over if he uses it. It's an instant TPK that not even Auto-Life can save you from. It's just like if you fail to stop Overdrive Sin from using it's Overdrive, you just get an instant Game Over. Zanmato doesn't deal damage, it just instantly kills the targets and removes them from the battle in much the same way that petrified characters shatter if struck and are removed from battle. If you get hit with Zanmato, you're getting a guaranteed Game Over. That's why Dark Yojimbo is so scary, there's always the chance that he might just use Zanmato and instantly send you straight to the Game Over screen.

    Another factor in Yu Yevon that makes him shockingly easy: he has NO STATUS IMMUNITY. ZERO. The very first time I fought him, I had Kimahri in the team, equipped with a spear that had Zombiestrike on it. Kimahri went first and, sure enough, he inflicts Zombie on Yu Yevon. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there, thinking "No...surely not..." Then, after that, it's Yuna's turn. Still in disbelief, I decide to try casting Revive on Yu Yevon. Sure enough...he dies. Two turns. I beat this game in TWO. TURNS. I legitimately had more trouble fighting Seymour's second-to-last boss fight on Mt. Gagazet, which I only had a chance at winning after finding the Yojimbo summon. But Yu Yevon? As I discovered, you can beat him in two turns COMPLETELY BY ACCIDENT

    The traded Onix is not even a good counter to Falkner; the level that Onix needs to learn Rock Throw means that Onix will start disobeying you, meaning that you either need to deal with a disobedient Onix needing to break through Mud-Slap accuracy drops just to hit the already inaccurate Rock Throw, or engage in Tackle Vs Mud-Slap slapfests that Onix will likely lose in anyway. I don't even know why Falkner is in honourable mentions at all; joshscorcher said "no mandatory first bosses", which Falkner is.

The first phase was amazing so why did this have to suck? 9. I count this guy as a first boss for being the first star I always got in this game. That said the second fight is... debatable on the first time you fight him. 8. Oscar called this guy the easiest boss in Tooie and I can see why 7. Dang AI. Why did it make this robot master so pathedic? 6. Obligatory KH entry! And yeah the fight in KH3 is loads better. 5. The boss on the title card only halfway up the list? Well he fits. 4. So this boss from an old list can be lost to. Well the fact that it's timed doesn't make it better. 3. I love the math meme and yeah... this boss can be over relatively quickly 2. Honourary mention: Real King Allant, Demons Souls. Real King Allant is the final boss of the game, however, he is just a pathetic slug-like creature who can only slowly hobble towards you strike you with his sword. With how strong the bosses are in this game and how strong you will be by the time you reach the end, you can take him out no problem. However, in every New Game Plus cycle, every enemy will hit you twice as hard and have twice as much health, so after a few cycles, it's possible that he could hit you enough times before you're able to wittle his health down, especially if you gets you up against the wall in the tight room and you can't roll away.

    Idea: bosses where you’re NOT supposed to win. These bosses are the fights where it shows how much of an amateur you are or how the other person is way out of your league. You can defeat them but it will require a lot of skill so long as the next scene, it shows your character defeated. Mega Man X had Vile, Kingdom Hearts has Squall, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon had Grovyle, Undertale had Flowey to show you how the underground works, Seikiro had that guy who sliced your arm clean off and even if you defeat him, you’re then distracted by a ninja star and still lose the arm.

    Wulfric from Pokémon x and y. He’s the last gym leader, he’s got one of the best character designs, and he uses ice type Pokémon (which are my favorite type). However, he’s a freaking joke. First of all, ice types (despite them being my favorite) are really bad. They have a bunch of weaknesses, only hit four types super effectively, and only resist other ice types. The only way his ice types could resist your attacks is if you challenge the ice type gyms with your own ice types, but even then you still have the advantage because your ice types will also resist his attacks and one of his Pokémon is an Abomasnow (which doesn’t even resist ice since it’s part grass type). Speaking of his Pokémon, they’re garbage. He only has three Pokémon (despite the fact that he’s the last gym leader) and those Pokémon are his Abomasnow, a Cryoganol, and an Avalugg. Two of his Pokémon are pure ice types, and the last one is ice and grass (which is weak to SO MANY types that it isn’t even funny). Plus, his Abomasnow only has 3 moves. You might think that since he’s the last gym leader that means his Pokémon are super high level and might be semi challenging, but you would be forgetting the fact that this is x and y. The completely broken experience share in these games means that your almost never at a level disadvantage. Even if you turn the exp share off, though, the fight still isn’t difficult at all. All of his Pokémon are slow and both of his pure ice types are Pokémon that have stats more tuned to defensive play style. Playing defensively with the worst defensive type in the game is a horrible strategy. His Abomasnow can pack a punch, but it’s slow, only has 3 moves (two of which are ice moves and the last is energy ball), and has 8 weaknesses with one of them being a quad weakness. But what if I told you that all of that wasn’t even the worst of it? What if I told you that you literally cannot get to this fight without acquiring a Pokémon that can steamroll Wulfric? Of the three Kalos starters, NONE of them are at a disadvantage against ice types. Delphox is a fire type, Greninja is both extremely powerful and resists ice type moves, and the grass type starter Chesnaught is part fighting type. Chesnaught’s fighting typing might not make it resist ice type attacks, but it’s still more than fast enough to out speed all of Wulfric’s Pokémon and instakill them with a fighting type move. Plus, this game also gives you access to the Kanto starters. Charizard may be part flying, but it still isn’t weak to ice and can kill all of Wulfric’s Pokémon easily. Blastoise is another water type that resists ice and can easily be taught a bunch of different possible moves to take care of Abomasnow. The only one the SIX starters you can choose from that has a definitive losing matchup against Wulfric is Venasaure, but you still get to pick a Kalos starter to go along with Venasaure even if you pick it. However, even all of THAT still isn’t the worst of it. You know why Wulfric is truly a complete joke? Two words: mega Lucario. Mega Lucario is an extremely powerful mega evolution that is fighting and steel type. In case you forget, both of those types are super effective against ice types. On top of that, mega Lucario has adaptability which gives it a huge boost to damage for both of its STAB types, WHICH WHERE ALREADY SUPER EFFECTIVE AGAINST ICE TYPES! Then, you realize the fact that every single attacking move that all of Wulfric’s Pokémon know ARE RESISTED BY MEGA LUCARIO! That’s right! On top of having three Pokémon that get out speed and one shot by mega Lucario anyways, Wulfric’s Pokémon have nothing to hit your Lucario for even neutral damage. He does basically no damage to you, your pretty much guaranteed to kill any of his Pokémon by mega Evolving and using any STAB move regardless of the level difference, and you still have FIVE OTHER POKÉMON! On top of all of this, you literally cannot get to Wulfric without a mega Lucario. The game freely gives you a mega Lucario before you can fight the fighting type gym leader, and it’s required. There is no way to advance the story without receiving the mega Lucario. Meaning that the only way you don’t have a Lucario for the Wulfric fight is if you intentionally did not bring the Lucario that you already have. Even without mega Lucario though, this fight is still a joke. You levels will be high thanks to the exp share, he only has three Pokémon and none of them are really all that good, five out of the six starters you can choose from have a good matchup against his team (and you get to take two of those starters), even if you don’t have your Lucario to mega evolve you can still mega evolve the Kanto starters (all of which are ridiculously powerful), two of his Pokémon are pure ice type with the last one being ice and grass, and the fact that he’s the last gym leader means that you will have had plenty of experience fighting all of the other gym leaders and building up your team to be both strong and diverse. Wulfric is so pathetically easy in a game that’s itself pathetically easy that he almost feels insulting to fight against. I sincerely doubt that ANYONE had ever lost to Wulfric, and if they did then they were probably TRYING to lose to him. The game literally forces you to take a Pokémon that pretty much can’t lose to him. Wulfric absolutely deserves to be on this list, even if he’s just an honorable mention. He’s a complete joke.

    1. I think Wulfric is just a prominent case of the problem Falkner was guilty of first. 2. Have you heard of MandJTV? I recently watched his video on “Every Gym Leader Team That Makes No Sense”, and he had _quite_ the tirade for Wulfric. Even brought up one notable detail you didn’t.

  • @thedarknessmagician5234

    @thedarknessmagician5234

    2 жыл бұрын

    I do watch MandJTV. However, I don’t think I’ve seen that specific episode yet. As for Falkner, I think Wulfric is worse. Yes, Falkner is easy, but he’s the first gym leader. The first gym leader is usually pretty easy in any Pokémon game, but the balance there is that if your new to playing Pokémon then the easy introduction allows you to better learn the game. That’s the basic layout of pretty much every rpg. You start out weak and fight weak enemies in order to slowly become both more powerful and more knowledgeable of the game itself. The first gym leader is supposed to be at least a little easy, and the last gym leader is supposed to be at least somewhat difficult. The last gym leader is the final obstacle to overcome before you can face the elite four and take on the champion. That’s the game’s balance. The final gym leader is supposed to push players to start thinking ahead and battle a little bit smarter. They should help get you ready four the five strongest trainers of the region, but Wulfric does none of that. Say what you will about Falkner, but people still lose to him (including myself more than once considering chikorita is my favorite gen 2 starter). I still honestly don’t think anybody has ever lost to Wulfric unless they were TRYING to. Since he’s the last gym leader, the team that you’ll have by the time you get to him will be both high level and completely stacked. Even excluding mega Lucario, all you need to beat him is a moderately fast fighting type or a good steel or fire type. Even without a Pokémon like that, however, you can still take is team down with a powerful Pokémon spamming neutral STAB attacks. You can get caught off guard by the first gym leader because of your limited number of options in the early game as well as your own possible inexperience, but anybody who’s made it to the last gym leader has access to tons of useful and powerful Pokémon while also having the experience of beating the first seven gym leaders. You can’t get to Wulfric while still being “inexperienced”, and you also can’t get to him without at least one Pokémon (mega Lucario) that destroys his whole team. Yeah, you can go and catch a geodude to use against Falkner, but I’m pretty sure that the game never FORCES you to take that Pokémon. That’s why I consider Wulfric to be worse than Falkner, because unlike Falkner, the player has to come up with a specific and strategy in order to lose to Wulfric (bringing Pokémon weak to ice, not attacking, refusing to use the plethora of healing items they no doubt have by this point, the list just keeps going). Wulfric is so easy, you can literally stroll up to him with whatever Pokémon you want at an equivalent or even slightly lower level and be perfectly fine. He is the only gym leader that I can think off where losing to him is a legitimately challenging process that needs to be planned out. That, at least to me, is why Wulfric will always be worse than Falkner.

    Alright yeah, I just watched the video. I agree that it’s stupid that mega evolution isn’t used to greater effect by the x and y bosses. While giving Wulfric a mega Abomasnow would help out his team quite a lot, I still think there’s way too much working against him for him to ever be a challenge. Mega Lucario or a good fire type (cough cough Delphox cough cough Charizard) will still demolish his team even with the mega. The Mamoswine, however, would actually patch up some of his team’s bad matchups and provide him with a seriously powerful offensive threat. However, it would be another ice type that doesn’t resist ice type moves. On top of that, it’s weak to all three of the starter types and still gets out speed and killed by mega Lucario. MandJTV’s suggestions are definitely an improvement, but I still think the fight would be a bit too easy. Thank you for the recommendation and the link.

    For example, one that has recently become more common is sudden gameplay changes exclusively for the final boss, such as in Paper Mario The Origami King or Touhou 15.5 on Overdrive difficulty. It's a more specific branch of fake difficulty, where there's no buildup to what you're supposed to do at the final battle. King Olly is debatable, but I included it because the game had already added a whole gameplay style just for bosses but ditched it phase two onwards. Meanwhile, Touhou 15.5 definitely qualifies. "Answering" to complaints about how easy the true final boss was even in Lunatic, the devs added a fifth difficulty exclusive to this fighting game. And after clearing every story mode, how has the final challenge been upgraded? She gets two extra phases that change the game into a schmup. And not even playing main Touhou games will help you, because the physics remain the same and your character has shots that don't move in a straight line.

    Honestly, even if first bosses did count it wouldn't even matter. Although I am surprised any of the *final* battles with Bowser (minus a few exceptions here or there) didn't make it on the list. More specifically the *final* boss in Galaxy 2. For those unaware or haven't played the game (although some footage was played in the video) the real final battle is nothing more than waiting for a ground-poundable meteorite to show up and waiting for Bowser to hold still long enough to send the space rock right at the overgrown pile of meat. The *only* attack Bowser does is a punch attack when he's close enough to Mario. The problem is the fact you can hit the meteorite whenever you please once it's glowing, meaning if you're good at timing and can tell how far away Bowser is you can hit him *before he even gets ready to move!* Also, if Bowser does manage to hit you while on the meteorite you're standing on will drop a coin for free health regardless of how it's destroyed meaning *you can't die even if you tried!* ... Well that's a bit of a lie, the coins don't stick around very long meaning if you do ignore them you *can* die but then you have to face the first part of the final Bowser fight again before facing the real final battle *again.* Another contender is some of the bosses in the kirby series. While there are some bosses that can whoop your ass six ways from Sunday (Looking at you EX/Parallel bosses, Galacta Knight and Soul bosses), there are bosses that either don't do enough to be considered a threat or just straight up can't attack for the life of them. The Whispy Woods fights and Kracko fights (and their counterparts, not counting EX/Parallel) are piss easy, especially with abilities that either have projectiles or are purely projectile focused although some abilities really don't give a f*ck and can just kill a boss after a few hits regardless if it's projectile focused or not.

    My pick goes to the Tidal Tempest Boss in Sonic CD. The first phase is a very quick underwater Eggman chase where he won't strike back, and once you hit him enough times, he opens a new passage to access the Boss room for the fight to truly begin. This egg mobile, which has no official name, has to be one of the most counterintuitive mechs Eggman has ever built. His shield is made from the same air bubbles you use to reset the underwater timer! No matter how fast he spins them, they won't hurt Sonic. On the contrary, he'll breathe them like usual. The only threat the boss has is throwing miniscule shots. Lastly, the fight ends the second you break through the barrier, because it can't take a single hit. Supposedly, the bosses in CD are meant to be puzzles rather than endurance tests, but this one can't even accomplish that, considering the solution can be figured out in a single glance.

Like with Dark Beast Ganon, You need to strip off your gear and dismiss your followers to lose to this guy as he is armed with a laser pistol which while better than the regular laser pistol is still a lower tier weapon when even without DLC you will probably be there in power armor and have plasma weapons. The Penguin from Batman Arkham City. The only way to die to patiently wait for his attacks to whittle down your health. 343 Guilty Spark from Halo 3. You would expect he would be a challenge to hit with the Spartan Laser but nope. Once you grab it, piece of cake.

    The thing about Calamity Ganon (and it's Dark Beast Ganon form) from LoZ:BotW is that it's a PUPPET made of malice (i.e. it's NOT technically Ganon/Ganondorf that you're fighting). Also, Dark Beast Ganon is a "pure, enraged form" which basically means that the creature is NOT thinking clearly (if at all), thus it's quite easy to take advantage of (not to mention that Zelda is "assisting" you from inside the colossal swine). Finally, Calamity Ganon's "Spider form" (which Link fights in Hyrule Castle), "Dark Beast form" (which Link fights in Hyrule Field), and "Snake form" (which Link DOESN'T get to fight, but is instead defeated by Zelda) are ALL references to the Puppet Ganon fight from LoZ:WW. This is WHY the sequel to LoZ:BotW showcased the decaying remains of Ganondorf in its 1st teaser trailer! It was a nod of confirmation to the fans who had figured out the truth about Calamity Ganon!

A level 1 character who turned off no exp might be able to lose? Or, in descending order of likelyhood, you might do more damage than he can take before he KO's you, your allies might kill him first, or donald might heal you... so basically you gotta disable your party members, make sure they can't damage him or help you, and purposely let yourself be hit... after having played through the game at level 1.

    Dalton from Chrono Trigger could’ve probably made the honorable mentions. In the first fight against him, he counters every attack with iron sphere, which cuts target’s hp in half. That sounds devastating, but it’s the only attack he does throughout the fight. His only other attack is to just loudly burp at the end of the fight. This does roughly a bit short of 150 damage to all party members. You literally have to beat the boss for him to beat you. In his second fight, he does get more attacks, but I don’t know if they actually do damage or not. Also, he has less health here than when you fought him in the Zeal throne room, not to mention you’ve likely gotten a bit strange after the Ocean Palace. It’s kinda funny how the golems he summons are somehow tougher than himself

    In a video by the youtuber Remy Racoon, he described Yuyevon's fight as less of a boss fight and more like a puzzle because you can't die and cause he heals so much health. He spouted out a few strategies on how to take it down, like casting zombie on it.

    another boss that could easily fit on this list is Dreadstump from ROTMG. despite being a pirate king, he is incredibly easy and can be defeated without issue by a level 1 character. The only way ive found to actually die to the boss is to actively run into its attacks (which takes a while to kill you if you have leveled up and/or gotten any armor)

    Wait how does the Yu Yevon loss work? I understand that you can have someone petrify the rest of the team, but how does the petrifier petrify themselves? Is there a self-attack option? 'Cause otherwise you run out of people to use petrification attacks for the last party member.

    @Khalid Achmed Islam I get that part, the confusion is on how you get it to happen to _everyone._ Let's say party member 1 petrifies all the other party members with that. Who then petrifies party member 1? Is there an "attack self" option? Can one of the already petrified party members somehow petrify the remaining one?

    @Khalid Achmed Islam Well that sure is an escalation from just asking a simple question... I don't think I want anything to do with your faith if it doesn't promote even the compassion needed to answer a question without hostility and condescension. Especially since as a historian I know in the past curiosity and asking questions _was_ well regarded in Islamic circles, so I at least don't want anything to do with your specific brand of it - or I guess if I am to take your conduct here as representative of it as a whole, such respectable values have been forgotten since then... Anyways, have a good day.

    I beat Breath of the Wild recently, after starting 4 playthroughs 2 regular 2 master mode (1 of each for 2 separate accounts) and I was its safe to say I was massively over-prepared for Ganon, even Calamity Ganon I beat nearly hitless, and when he hit me it did 2 hearts of damage, nothing for my maxed out health-bar, and Dark Beast was nothing of course, I practically mastered the regular combat mechanics (some people can kill lynels in seconds but that is definitely not intended by the Devs and I could never do that) The whole Boss gave me more trouble than a lynel would

    I think one feasible way of losing to Old King Coal is if one's used to the previous games most solutions being solved by normal attacks and one tries to take on Old King Coal that way instead of eggs, that proves challenging. Believe me, I know this cause I actually tried that when I first played Tooie back in the day and this was before I got and fully played the first Banjo-Kazooie officially.

Wasn't sure what to do, got lots of troops dragged through the electricity everywhere, lost tug of wars since he wasn't constantly focusing on it and would lose a troop or two to electricity. Eventually there were no more corpses and he didn't have enough troops. Had to leave and redo the cave. That was our first play through maybe...17 or 18 years ago? Wow...

    Funny thing is, this list requirements can also apply to some beginning fights in Infinity Blade. Basically, you have to go out of your way to lose against these guys. But if you do, then you unlock Negative Mode. You're restricted to some of the worst equipment in the game, but you get exponentially better loot the further you go. And the first time you end up dying, you go right back to the beginning of normal mode.

    Dark Beast Ganon may be easy, but the Zelda rep should've been Angler Fish from Link's Awakening. Ganon may have been underwhelming, but at least it's better than a boss that can literally die in FIVE SECONDS. And he does count because he DOES have 2 attacks, and he's the boss of the game's FOURTH dungeon

    I will admit, I've played all the gears of wars, and they're my favourite games to play, but the lambent Brumak was the easiest boss I've had to fight, like you've got soo many good bosses, general RAAM, all three of the berserkers, the lambent berserker and so many more like the queen, general skorge and the corpser in gears 1. It's one of the reasons why I say that gears 2 is probably the weakest in the franchise when it came to the final boss. Great video as always, can't wait to see more 😊

    Well, the giant breadbug could in theory grab all the treasures and corpses before you can figure out how to kill it, but that would take a lot of time, assumes you didn't figure out to deal with the smaller breadbugs before and for some reason your first instinct isn't to immediatly swarm whatever it's dragging. I feel like Pikmin 2 Dungeon design also doesn't work in favor of them, the one regular breadbug in Pikmin 1 poses more of a challenge because time is limited, you have to kill it to even know it has a ship part and because there is only one roaming a large map you might not even see it dragging things for a while.

    One I’d like to pitch in is Sarthorael from Total War: Warhammer’s Chaos campaign. Once you unify the northern tribes under your rule, you get assaulted by the greater daemon Sarthorael and his armies to prove yourself before the Dark Gods. Thing is, your armies most likely dwarf Sarthorael’s forces by this point anyway, so it’s simply a matter of steamrolling him.

    Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy. In the original anime, there’s a scene close to the end of the show where Ed fights Envy, but rather than fight him, Envy transforms into a random assortment of Ed’s loved ones and friends (and Mustang), trying to find the one that Ed won’t punch. That scene is replicated in the game, and the first person that Envy transforms into is Hughes. This transformation is the only one that actually will attack you if you take too long to hit him by throwing knives at you, but the attacks take so long to come out and the knives do so little damage that the only way to lose is to set the DS down, not pause the game, and walk away for five minutes.
