I’m six months post TKR. I’m still doing the presurgical exercises I was given and whenever I’m sitting or have my legs extended I’m squeezing my quads. I have an app my PT gave me with exercises too.

Thanks for your videos. I"m 3 weeks post-TKR and when I first started my physio, I could bend my knee without much pain. Then last week a new pain started (feels like it's under my patella and runs up my inner thigh). Once I get into the bend - when lying on a bed - I can only raise the knee and then the pain becomes intense. It feels like a stabbing pain. It hurts to the point that I can't straighten the knee without assistance. Have I overworked it or is this new pain something other than the muscle that I should get checked by the surgeon? My flexion is at 98 degrees. Thanks.

My knee will only bend barely 90 degrees. Have to walk up stairs at an angle. I can't straighten my knee either which makes me have to do a slight lunge when walking to avoid walking on front of foot. I was hit by a car in Oct 2023. Shattered tibia. In Nov i had plate and screw surgery. In Jan of this year I had knee manipulation. Dr said I was at 120 degree bend but somehow went to 80-90 post surgery in therapy. Use to be very agile doing hit. I'm 37. Hopefully you can help because I currently cannot do any physical work with the condition I'm in.

I am four months post TKR. I was released from formal PT about a month ago. The best fkexion I got was 110 with PT assistance. I don’t measure at home but feel I’m stuck, with no improvement in flexion. BTW I’m 73 and was never very active. So wondering if it’s too late to try your program

I would check with your doctor to make sure! You could tell the doc It’s a gentle exercise program that involves 3 exercise routines a day and about 3 sessions of ice/elevation a day.

I’ve had two knee replacement surgeries four months apart. My first one was partial and is doing well. My second was total, I’m at 10 weeks out and my knee is not bending as much as expected. Is this normal should I consider manual manipulation?

Hi Samantha, I am about nine weeks post opp and have good bend at this point I think .I eventually want full bend, back to my bum.Is the new knee designed to bend that far, or can I do it any damage trying to achieve this? Also is it designed to bend in two directions as when putting socks on? Thank you so much for your videos Samantha, they have helped and reassured me immensely. Have a good day.🌅

Hi there Doc! I have been following you for a few weeks now. I’m 7 weeks post op and at a 111 degree bend with painful force at pt. I am constantly super stiff and knee feels like it’s in a vice, along with swelling. I’m considering your knee bending course. But not sure if I can do it in conjunction with my pt which is mon-wed-fri. I am a nurse and I have to be back to work in 5 weeks. I’m really worried since I am on my feet constantly. What is your perspective on this? I feel as though I am doing too much, which is possibly putting me behind…even as a nurse this is not my expertise. I would love to discuss your thoughts on this issue to see if this course could be a new direction for me. Thanks!

Hi! Yes this would be a great program for you to start to get that knee bending. The first 3 days of the program involve some rest time so you’ll want to start on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday so you can adequately rest. The rest time is key to getting the muscles to relax for stretching. I think you’ll be able to get full range of motion after the Knee Bending Course! www.succeedcourses.com/Knee-bending-course

I achieved a little over 125 degrees after about 4 weeks so I’ve been fortunate in that respect . Im now at about 14 weeks post op. My issues are weakness and soreness. I walked about a mile today and I often use an exercise bike every evening and do some light squats. My question is should I be working my knee so hard or should I be slowing down a little? My therapist acted like I’m doing great and I’m fine but no real guidance on what I should be doing now? I feel like a weak old man limping around and patience is starting to wain. Thank you for your insight.

I would let your symptoms be your guide. If you are really sore and uncomfortable at the end of the day, you are probably over doing it. It’s normal to have some swelling at the end of the day, but if it’s above your normal baseline level of swelling, then you may need to scale back. You should be doing exercises that are challenging but doable. The exercises should also be progressive. They need to get slightly harder each week.
