I like to watch Sumo, and in Sumo the injured fighter would have to go out himself, with no one looking after him (or, rather, with no one seeming having an idea of what to do...).
Great post. Loved the newaza bit.
11:10 : I like the way blue hit the mat with his left arm and hand, it was a good ukemi. I mean, there is no shame in Judo in accepting the fall, once it's here. Even if not intentionnal, it's beautiful Judo, and I think blue is a good Judoka.

Yeah he just accepted he was bested. Good job
I don't thing it was a reverse seoi nage. The guy just fell to the other side.
0:58 Didn't think i would see my coach/trainer in this video. He lost but I still think it's pretty cool!
Thanks for your videos and excellent commentary.

Would really love to see weight classes per contest in the top left if you can. Am always struggling to see the scoreboard to figure it out
That's not reverse seoi nage. Reverse seoi nage or Korean seoi nage occurs when you rotate 360 degrees, or close to it, and end up "behind" your opponent. The example you are referring to as reverse seoi nage is just a normal left sided seoi nage. His opponent attempted to defend against the attack by turning his hips away from the technique which caused him to roll over his shoulder awkwardly and basically fall as if he was doing ukemi for a right sided seoi nage.

No problem!
Thanks! As you asked for opinions, I do not think the first doubtful Ippon was an Ippon,
ijf defined reverse seoi nage on their website as tori turns away from uke, with both hands on the same lapel. as soon as you grip in a different way, its fine.
At 4:58 The white judoka try to hurt the other guy with is shoulder but he failed.

Your commentary really add something to your already good choice of ippons. Thank you for your work. I didn't look the results, but Frenchmen were better than during the last World Championship, no?

Thanks for that! French havent been good in years imo
Korean seoi nage can be done with both an inside(bottom) and outside(top) lapel grip. This wasn't korean seoi nage, An Baul didn't have the baseball bat lapel grip where you grip one side lapel with both hands. There was a technique video uploaded by Wang Ki Chun (before he got convicted of sexual assault) where he showed both the inside and outside lapel grip korean seoi nage. In this video, An Baul had a classic sleeve and lapel grip, it was a normal morote seoi nage, not korean seoi nage. The baseball bat grip is crucial for korean seoi nage. I thought it was a korean seoi nage at first too, I understand why it seems that way but the replay shows that it was a normal morote. The Moldovan opponent turns away from the direction of the throw (reverse direction) to defend, but An Baul maintains a strong grip and follows through to the end so at first glance it seems like a korean seoi nage but it wasn't. Jeon Ki Young shows korean seoi nage with an inside lapel grip here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/n4t8lNJyo7GpnJs.html

@@JudoHighlights2015 Yes, it was a big shock when it hit the news. Olympic silver medalist and double world champion Wang Ki Chun, who was pretty much the #1 best -73kg judoka in the world from 2007 to 2010 and one of the best ever competitors in judo, was convicted of sexual assault in 2020

I don't think reverse seoi nage requires a baseball bat grip. Imagine lapel grip ippon seoi nage, but with a cross grip instead of a normal grip. I think this is reverse seoi nage too. The baseball bat grip is the coolest version by far though, where the torque on the gi throws uke. I also think it's way less dangerous.

In my view, I believe judoka ( -81Kg) Latisev Mihail did a fantastic job at the Portugal GP '23 .... being so young and skillful. DE Wit Frank didn't stand in front of Latisev. Even Muki thought he is gonna win against him. Cheers !

Judo looks very dangerous to play now days
God ipon
didnt reverse seoi get banned?
At 1:32, I thought 2-on-1 grip breaks were illegal now. And at 4:03, why isn't that ippon? Uke's shoulders were flat on the mat, the throw had speed, power, and control. What was missing?
@JudoHighlights2015

You can do it if you attack immediately. They changed 4:03 from wazari to ippon.

you don't need to attack immediately, you just have to keep some sort of grip after the grip break
