You are doing a great job for Judo. Thank you and continue.
You make judo fun to watch. I've been playing the game for over 10yrs and could never really get into watching it as a spectator. Now after consuming some judo over the last year or so, I realize what I missed out on. There's a lot of strategy to learn from watching, and your commentary is very helpful. Much appreciated bro, keep up the good work🖐
strucan komentar, odlican odabir, hvala za promaciju judoa!

Glad you enjoyed it
Great breakdown again. Keep it up!
Great video! Thank you very much.
At 2.10 it's no Hansoku make because Uke plays a big role in how tori's head came to the mat. If Uke tries to counter or pushes tori down it's no Hansoku make. And of course as you said Tori's hand hits the mat first. You've got to get clear rules and "head hits mat first - >HMK" is a clear rule. "this one didn't look all that dangerous" is no clear decision and would lead to even more discussions.
That "French grip" you are reffering to is associated more with athletes from Azerbaijan. Its sometimes called the Azeri dump or Azeri uki otoshi. It started to get popular after both Heydarov and Orujov pulled it off on their way to the podium at the 2019 World Championships.....
I always thought that you could just say a throw was sumi otoshi or uki otoshi if somebody got thrown by good kuzushi alone; also I thought the head dive rule used to make sense years back when it was considered acceptable for a judoka to roll over their head if it was outside of the frame of their knees (like zempo kaiten without hands)
i think that this overexpressive celebrations are sometimes not fair against your opponents. if you allow them then you will have to solve the issue of what isbok and what not. furhtermore discussions with referees will start and etc. this would be a shortsighted decision. i think now it is great and i like the spirit of respect and not discussing/disputing against referee decisions and etc. even though they might appear harsh sometimes. judo is a gentle sport with japanese origin, where mutual respect is a very important value. let's keep that heritage.

I'm so proud of being Tajik

Yeah the focusing on one technique thing is definitely an interesting training method. I’ve heard arguments for and against that, but it definitely builds a kind of mental resolve and technical precision. You’re basically saying I’m going to throw you with “X” technique, no matter what. So if your partner has been paying any attention, he should have an advantage in countering it. But on the same token, fighting those counters will eventually elevate that technique. It’s a rigorous way to train, but I think it exemplifies what so many people miss: the dojo is for getting better, not winning randori matches. It doesn’t really matter if you’re failing your 37th attempt in the session as long as it’s making you better.

these athlets are just amazing, its a honor see this work.

It's nice to see some ippons from french athletes, lately the french men athletes have not really shine on the international scene
Tajikistan 🇹🇯🥇.
2:28 Scary knee moment.
Great video and commentary. I don't mind the "victory celebrations" after an ippon, as long as it's not "overdone" ... but you won't see the Japanese doing it...they're traditional. Speaking of Japanese, why weren't there any Japanese in this GP? Are they resting their team after the World C'ships.?

Generally Japan only sends its team to grand slams and higher level competitions. They use GP for the younger members and they just sent a bunch to the GP from the other week

What about bear hug is punished with shido?
@juvinious
11 ай бұрын
You must have a grip on your opponent before initiating a bear hug, and you cannot lock hands with it, otherwise it's a shido. In this instance, one went directly for a bear hug without grips and the other countered with bear hug also without grips, who gets the shido here? The counter got the score so they just say screw it? I guess it's a tough call. Although bear hugging without grips on counter is sometimes fine? Because I have seen it allowed by the refs many times before....
🤑😉
1:12 what makes it not a kouchi gake?
6:05 Joshua Green is an NPC, he’s always participating but always looses around round 2 😂
1:10 Kouchi GAKE
Love your channel and content. I have to strongly disagree with your statement in this video about encouraging more celebration by athletes. One of the things that I enjoy most about the Japanese martial arts is the focus on decorum, on limiting ego. These are 'Do' arts/sports not jutsu.

IJF doesn't even understand its own rules anymore. They're simply killing judo.
"Kumikata", not "kumite".

Judo Highlights, stop worrying about knees bending, lol! A healthy knee can withstand a lot of wear and tear, maybe you drew the short stick on this one. Great clip and awful judging, btw.
