Top Gun "Maverick" song "Hold My Hand" by Lady Gaga - A Vocal Analysis

We'll see how this one goes! I am a Lady Gaga fan, and find her music and voice angelically beautiful. And I've seen the first Top Gun with Kirk, but not Maverick. . . and yet I was still drawn to this song and how wildly popular it became after the movie was released last year. So I guess we'll first listen to Lady Gaga, then I'll have to check out this sequel. I have the need. . . the need for speed!
Join professional opera singer Elizabeth Zharoff, as she listens to Lady Gaga performing "Hold My Hand" for the first time.

Yeah I'm a Metallica, slipknot, disturbed, iron maiden kinda fan but Lady Gaga is just insane. Her vocals in A Star Is Born, and in this... Just breathtaking. Quite apt for this sequel.

She recently performed this song at the Oscars and she really outdid herself. Mad respect for her choices to go makeup free, hair in braids, ripped up jeans, vulnerability and no over the top glitz and glam. Just her and her powerful voice.

As someone who worked on Maverick for 2 years of my life, hopefully you'll get to see Maverick and hope that you like it! We all had a lot of fun working on it! I can't help but get nostalgic hearing this song. It's quite a surreal experience seeing 2 years of your life condensed down to 2 hours on screen. This song brings me back to all those fun times that we had putting this film together.

She is one of the greatest vocalists of our age. She ranks with Whitney and Adele

From the first time I heard this song, I thought it was the BEST way you could create a modern "80s feel" ballad. It just feels so retro and a worthy successor to what was the quintessential 80s movie ballad in "Take My Breath Away". I never get tired of hearing this song and it's as impactful to my emotions as the movie itself.

Gaga is just a force of nature. She is one of the most gifted artists of our time. The icing in the cake is that all that talent is supported by an extraordinary human being. She's amazing.

Her oscars performance of "Til it happens to you" a few years ago was heartbreaking and absolutely brilliant.

The original Top Gun film had such an impact on my career as both an airline and military pilot. The second movie is so well done, and is perfectly complimented by this song. It is impossible to not get emotional watching/listening to this incredibly produced music video. Well done, and thank you Elizabeth for analyzing this.

Years ago my brother liked Lady Gaga, metal head here, couldn't stand her music. Fast forward to my teenage daughter listening to her. I LOVE HER VOICE!! She is at the point in her career where she can do what she wants, not the companies that record and put her music out there. I wish I could tell my brother he was right. He's gone now, so I can't but damn he had an ear for talent and gave it a chance even if it wasn't his style. I am like that now thanks to you Elizabeth. You have given me an ongoing gift!!💜💜

I'm impressed she wrote and composed that. The complexity of the verse, pre-chorus and chorus is incredible. Respect to Lady.

"Always Remember Us This Way" by Lady Gaga is one of her many great songs. It starts with a line about "That Arizona Sky". Thanks for telling the world about the struggle, and how things get better.

The Edge of Glory that she did with just piano on the Howard Stern Show is what got me to fall in love with her voice.

I'm not really a pop fan but Lady Gaga is SOO good at EVERYTHING, including acting, I can't help but like her. She sang a tribute to Sound of Music at the Grammies.with Julie Andrews there, that was classically amazing and her Jazz album with Tony Bennet was perfection.

The fact that she fought to have the fly over be real when she's on the piano shows just how much love she has for this song. The even had to tie her dress to the piano
