I was always fond of characters who do decent AOE damage and decent single target damage as well. So, its Jing Yuan for me the same way it was Childe for me back in the day

I can’t believe Star rail has numerous methods to increase crit rate. I really appreciate that about the game

I tried to get Sushang to cope with not having Seele and instead got this guy in just 30 wishes! Guess luck was on my side this time 😅

Same here, I used all my Jade on Seele and lost her to Clara who I already have, but I did get Jingle bells in 1 pull and his cone in 20

Nice Jing Yuan guide makes understanding his kit way easier. Just in 1:28 you forgot about Tingyun being a lightning user lol

tbh i think even if you don’t necessarily want Jing Yuan, his banner is absolutely great value bc of the 4 stars, especially if you’re f2p! Tingyun is arguably one of the best support units in the game rn, Sushang is a fantastic physical DPS, and March 7th has some nice eidolons to boot! ik conventional wisdom is you shouldn’t pull for 4 stars unless you’re okay with potentially getting the 5 star, but since we’re still so early in the game that even if you get Jing Yuan or one of the standard 5 stars that’s still overall a net-positive for your account :)

Honestly that was my mentality pulling on the banner. I didn’t care if I got him or not, because I already had a decently built Serval, so I decided to pull until I got the 5* and even if I lost the 50/50 I would probably still get a new character. Ended up getting him though, so only complaint is that I’ll never use Serval again lol.

As someone who has a decently built jing yuan speed feels way better than attack boots.

For me who already used Elation because i have Clara and March 7th on my team, he really helps me in simulated universe. Before i pulled him I used Serval, but with him i can use the Elation path to the fullest extent.

And qingque isn’t that bad though, her damage numbers are inflated as hell, 312% to main target and 130% to adjacent enemies, at E4 she can hit twice, which means 624%/260% (in comparison seeles ult deals 510% to a single target), and we didn’t even account for max 180% damage increases of her skill, 90% attack increase when entering her buffed state and her ult damage

He has a huge weakness: most of his power budget is allocated towards the thunder lord, and if he gets cc’d well that’s 70% damage lost for the turn

7:20 Based on how you use up your resources and/or rng, you could reach decent crit ration earlier than that. My seele for example has 60-100 ratio and I am not lvl 50 yet

Don’t get me wrong, Jing Yuen is great! Probably the best aoe character in the game so far. But I just don’t get why they would release a character with the same type and path combo as an existing one when there are so many combinations that have yet to be explored. Heck there is only one imagination character in the entire game so far and he’s a debuffer. They could have made him an imaginary erudition and I wouldn’t have batted an eye.

Because if people don't have Jing Yuan, they would feel left out of a Lightning Erudition character, so Serval is just a good alternative if you don't have the luck to pull him out.

@@drm726 I mean, I feel like Imaginary and Quantum are very rare elements, so they don't seem to worry about that much, but it's just a weird stretch.

One thing to keep in mind: Jingyun pairs well with the Bennett of this game: Tingyun since Asta's light cone, planetary rendevous, lets her buff his attack for simply being the same element. Added that Tingyun can boost his energy, it lets him get his 10 Lightning Lord stack very easily, its a very strong combo

Some light cone have this property of when using a team of a single element or more than 2 of the same element you get bonus status for the team. They will probably do more of this, Like Kafka’s kit, that she is based on characters that use DoT, not about elements itself but about game mechanics, not just raw damage. I hope they do more like this.

As a f2p I had to choose Seele _or_ Jing Yuan and went with the general because; - I desperately wanted Tingyun (the standard 5* I wanted most was/is Bronya but she's refusing to come home, so....) - I don't mind March / Sushang dupes as I use them - I have Bailu (so Luocha is not an absolute necessity) - he's a husbando - he _cheats_ by bringing a 5th character in 4 character game!! (who wouldn't want that?) The existence of Serval / Kafka _did_ make me think but, hey, I can't wait until Kafka's release. The gacha itch needs to be scratched! I got Jing Yuan and his light cone (it helps that the light cone gacha has only _one_ 5* instead of two in Genshin, as someone always getting the _other_ 5* weapon) and I'm having so much fun.

If I was just going for whatever I would skip and pull for Kafka, but I'll also be skipping Kafka and everyone else because I'm set on getting the Raiden Mei/Ei expy that will inevitably be released at some point.

i want someone to analyze sprightly vonwacq on characters like tingyun, maybe even seele in late game because you don't want to wear speed boots, but you want to outspeed various things still, which now have like 132 speed cause 120x1.1

There is ONE THING I KNOW and thats that I will regret it if I pull for him and miss Kafka. Even if I do get both one of them would need to be benched since they both cover the same role wich is AOE ellectric DPS. Kafka is a DoT DPS while Jing Yuan is more of a Burst DPS but still they are both DPS's. So yeah Its either one or the other and I have to go for Kafka simply because her ult is badass as f***

I tried elation in SU 6, the damage was crazy but it was still worse then other paths. With destruction I can auto everything including coco.

Personally I would disagree with the analysis of Seele vs Jing Yuan because the dmg of Seele vs Yanqing/Dan Heng is pretty much the same if not smaller than the gap between JingYuan and Himeko/Serval/Qingque (damage calcs from Prydwen). Notably Seele is single target with pseudo AoE and Jing Yuan's AoE transfers well to single target. Caveat: I'm a Seele hater, I think she has a ridiculous design and a flat personality

The STRONGEST Erudition Character - Jing Yuan Well, the strongest Erudiiton *yet*

It's a shame I don't like his design (moles are one of the biggest turn-offs for me) because gameplay wise I like the idea of having basically 4.5 units with the .5 being an autonomus summon. However, I will most likely save for mommy Kafka like about 90% of the playerbase. Also I feel like there is no need to have one damage dealer of every element since every enemy has at least two weaknesses so "not having a lightning dd" isn't a valid point to pull for a character personally. Now, that might change in the future obviously.

I skipped Seele for Jing Yuan and his light cone , but even I know full well that Seele isn't overrated. She is exceptional in almost all of the content that's currently in the game.

Same she is overrated ,also her animations are one of the worst in the game. Other than that she is a really good DPS ,but I dont like her playstyle. But afterall she is a Waifu ofcourse she is gonna be overrated Just look at Kafka she is not even out or Silverwolf same scenario. Altough Silverwolf seems good on paper ,but we will see how this goes.

I should have waited for jing yuan. Seele is kinda boring and flatchested.

I’m disappointed to be honest. This is one of the few Vars II videos that I haven’t bothered watching. I usually am eagerly looking forward to new Vars content. I understand a lot of work goes into these videos, so I don’t want to sound rude. I think that videos about HSR are fine but character specific guides are only useful if you plan on building those characters (obviously). Additionally, Vars’s main strength is making wide appealing general content not guides.
