All of those websites are awesome, good pick once again Gary. I have a remark tho. I'm older than the smartphone generation so I tend to prefer desktop version of websites, but isn't it better to focus first on the aspect on mobiles and touch screen? Like, you are showing us only the desktop version of those websites. I mean, I'm actually redoing my portfolio (yeah I know you know) and I feel I lost hours of using GSAP etc on my past portfolio by making everything fancy with an efficient UX since it was almost impossible to have the same on mobile / touch screens. (no more mouse tracking, hover effects, etc etc). I'm thinking I should stop focus on desktop, and make all the style and UX mobile first. What about you?

Devs & Designers often forget that the Web does not have to be static. Wish you had explained how to actually do a few of these. Alas... Lookin' forward to the new next-level content!

Great video! Perhaps you would consider making a top mobile websites video? Over 90%+ of my conversions are mobile, and many of these great desktop designs won't work well with mobile, such as cursor effects.

Site 5 ( Space-Sustainability by Omega Watches ) , probably most beautiful seamless galactic animations of shooting stars, smooth scrolling animations and such. Hope we get som of these techniques in your upcoming advanced design course. 😇

6:43, I don't think Webflow is for "those who can't code", in fact, it has a "learning curve".

Am I the only one who finds all the animations distracting? On some of these sites there's so much going on that you don't know where to look first. My personal preference is that animation is used sparsely and mainly on interactions like hovering or clicking on buttons and such. When something actually happens like a state change of something (like something is added to a shopping cart), an animation can help to make you notice that. But all the animations on scroll and such are very distracting from the thing that is most important and that is getting the information to your viewer.

I agree with you, I love animations but some websites have too much, like Dieter Rams said: "good design is as little design as possible"

I always end up not reading anything when everything is animated, so I have to agree. It all looks cool and I'm sure some of these things were difficult to make but "Mass Distraction" is getting over the top recently :)
