I think consistency is less important than getting firsts and seconds. I think in this system, cosmos overall score is less because he doesn’t have any major tournament wins.

Agreed. However frostbite placement screwed esam. His noteable wins are the most impressive on this list though. Zackray too low as well and gluttony too high imo.

Am I becoming more and more colorblind or is that not the French flag when they showed everyone's placement at the end (unless gluttony isn't French, in which case, I'm sorry)

MVD and ESAM being next to one another is somewhat unique among most top players. It seems that when one is on point, the other isn't. Then again, they play together so often and have been inseparable for so long now that it isn't weird or anything. What was more interesting to me was ESAM's smash factor of 0. I guess his placement was right where most pros and analysts expected him to be

Myran has much more placements due to the fact that he lives in southern Florida. Kameme just simply doesn’t have enough placements to be higher

A group of selected players, t.o.'s and other members of the community filled out a form rating all 100 perspective candidates for the PGR from 0 to 10. Then all the numbers were compiled and players were ordered from highest to lowest. If you had an x factor of +2 and were ranked 25th in pgr voters thought you were 23rd based off all the votes. Tl:dr it's a list of the communities general opinion on where players should be ranked.

Look at his results in season 1. They were terrible.he was consistently 50-200th at the majors.

Guys, nobody got "robbed." It's literally based on an algorithm. Some may have more skill than their results have shown, but it's not like anybody is getting cheated out of a spot

How does the x factor work?

Bob the Ross they basically get a ballot of people to put how they think each play should be ranked. The X factor is how close or far the actual rank is to the projected rank. (Ex. If someone has a +15. Then the ballots think he should be about 15 spots higher. If it’s -15 then they think they should be 15 lower. If it’s 0 then they are where they should be.) These have no effect on actual rankings.

it's basically a measure of where the community (pro players, casters, and other selected individuals) thinks the player should be on the pgr. kameme is +5 so when all these selected individuals ranked all the top players, on average, the community thought kameme would be 5 spots higher on the pgr.

so the x factor is how well the panelists thought you did vs the pgr. if you have a negative x factor, that means the panelists put you lower on the list for them, or it also means your carried by one event. A positive x factor means the panelists put you higher on their list and you have the potential to do better

there is a comittee of players, streamers, tos, etc, and x factor is the difference between the number made by the group and the number made by the algorithm

I think they valued wins more than placement. His best win is against Tea (number 15). Even if he won an s-tier, it's cheapened by his lack of top player wins. It seems this also hurt MVD, who placed well, but was lacking in wins.

Lucas Kinder that’s exactly what I mean. A win on ken is as great as winning against a top10 player, but kameme isn’t rewarded at all. That’s where the algorithm should be fixed
