All the people that always bring up how great his line was never mention how many tackles he broke.

He put up HOF numbers but, let's be honest. If it wasn't for Emmitt causing defenses to put extra players down low in effort to stop Emmitt,Irvin would still be on the sidelines of the Rose Bowl, complaining about the Bills 2 Deep zone that was limiting his yardage until they were forced to get out of that coverage in attempt to stop Emmitt!
@deebo1103

@@quentincampbell612 the reverse could be true too. When the run game stalled, they usually hit 88 and that opened up the run or Harper/Novacek to grab a TD. Was a well oiled machine. Give 88 his due.
Harper was so underrated on those teams.

In the year of covid, I went through KZread and watched every Dallas game I could find from '89-'94, was pleasantly surprised to find about 90% of them. Watched them in order. I gained a new appreciation for Emmitt Smith. He didn't get there until '90, and it took a couple of games for him to find his stride. He understood what the defense was trying to do, and knew how to counter what they were trying to do. He had an elite QB's knowledge of dissecting defense. Say what you will about who blocked for him, but Emmitt compared to any other RB's Dallas had, including Herschel in '89, Emmitt was miles ahead.
@deebo1103

The whole thing was like a story youd write. Emmitt joining in 90, Irvin having a breakout year in 91 and having teams fear him so much it opened up the run lanes, The hellacious defense and O-line along with the triplets and their offensive depth in 1992-1995 made them a dynasty. Too bad egos and poor choices splintered apart that team, but what a run.

@@deebo1103credit to Jerry Jones for the success and brand relevance and all the behind the scenes tv deals, he has always been his own Achilles heel. He couldn't get out of the way and let Jimmy do his thing. Jimmy was too proud. Barry was the worst coach to come in. Anyone else with a spine and they win 2 more. This team was loaded for a while and like you said egos and pride got in the way.
Alvin harper doesn't get the credit he deserves. He was one of the best at those high balls.
Those were some good days of being a cowboy fan.

Greatest team ever . The Cowboys
They helped me get through my high school years. Every weekend it was fun to watch them making plays! Those teams were amazing. They made pro players look average.
Back when Dallas was unstoppable
Never understood why people say Aikman is overrated
No regular season MNF ‘s? Those were so loaded with heroics i can’t imagine the Tripletts without ‘em.
Troy was out there throwing darts
How good it was baby. Go Cowboys!
The late 80s and much of the 90s were all cowboys and 49ers
My new favorite KZread video
I never get tired of these Cowboys!!
The great days of the 90 s dynasty go cowboys
Three of a kind
The Aikman to Irvin, was the best qb to receiver ever! You won't ever see that again.
Number 22 so high graphics😮
- #15 - Troy threw a perfect pass to Alvin Harper. Harper never broke his stride.
The “triplets”, as well as the early 90s Cowboys, were must see tv! Even though they won 3 SBs in four years, it STILL seems like they underachieved. That’s how good this team was! Too bad ego (Jerry Jones), jealousy (Jerry Jones), & off-the-field issues (Michael Irvin, et al), eventually caught up to them…🏈
Best team of the 90s... brings back memories
Great memories...
The 90s cowboy's were the best team in history. Great offense and defense. 3 superbowls in 4 years.
Ok who in the office felt some type of way...
My favorite Dallas Cowboys play is in the 2007 NFC divisional game, when Tony Romo threw a perfect pass to RW McQuarters in the end zone to end the Cowboys playoff hopes against the New York Giants. 🇺🇸😎
I had a friend who asked me if I wanted to go to the Cotton bowl classic game back in Jan of 89' and I never asked who was playing, I just said yes and while we were there, my friend said "That guy on the field is going to be the new Dallas Cowboy Quarterback" and I didn't know how he knew that and still don't but I do remember how well he played that day at the Cotton Bowl. UCLA Bruins vs. Arkansas Razorback. Troy won the MVP that day
1990 4th qtr v the Skins at home. Emmitt Jukes Darrell Green! I still can’t explain what he did to Green. It look like Green just fell down.
Best Running back of all Time!
3 of these players are icons of the cowboys organization with 3 Superbowls. They got it done in the 90s.
Alvin Harper was the king of the circus catch. Hit him in the numbers and in stride, he may catch it, he may drop it. Hit him with a high pass behind him in triple coverage? Money.
Greatest of all time ! 11-1 in a 4 year span 3SBs All 3 were awesome
This shows how far away we really are from having a true championship contending team.
These highlight's show exactly why Irvin was nicknamed "The Playmaker".
I'm surprised that Emmitt's 62-yard touchdown on Halloween 1993 didn't make the cut.
Well, triplets plus, but still great to watch.....
The last time Dallas was a contender to win the Superbowl in the 90s 😂
Its seems like alot Arizona Cardinal games in the highlights. Lol. I remember we USED to beat them up pretty bad.
I have no idea why people hate the Cowboys so much. I think Stephen A is the reason, if you’re not a Washington, Philadelphia or New York why do you hate Cowboys Nation so much? 😂

I don’t personally hate the Cowboys I do however find it irritating that such an average team the last 20+ years gets 100x more attention than other teams that are much better. Like think about it. They haven’t been to the NFC Champ Game since like 1996 I think. And yet First Take and especially Undisputed constantly talks about them and hypes them up to oblivion when in reality they are just an average at best team.

God it’s depressing to watch this, growing up in Dallas in that era…. Then watching the current cowboys 🙄
Love my team #DC4L
Wish this was called the "Quads" and they also included highlights of TE Jay Novacek. It is a crime that he is not included in with this Group. has just as Many Pro Bowl appearances as Irvin (5) and for the longest time held the record for most catched by a TE in total Super Bowl appearances (17 grabs in 3 Super Bowls), until it was broken by Rob Gronkowski and recently by Travis Kelce.
What gets me is those who say Aikman was mediocre. 🤦🏻♂️
Love that it wasn't all Irvin.
