I hv practically done blood sugar tests after a meal with many poriyals in good portion.Results of PP sugar were pretty much within range..below 130 mg/dl after meal.They are as follows. 1) All bean varieties...green beans...Broad beans.. Cluster beans....Best of all beans is cluster beans ..kothavarangai....pl add good portion of grated coconut too in the poriyal...as coconut helps in adding Fibre and reducing GL...pl don't add any boiled pulses or millets in the poriyal...only veg .plus grated coconut. 2) Even carrot with green peas and grated coconut is very good. 3) Ladies finger...very good.Try ladies finger poriyal with pepper powder... results are very good. 4) Cauli flower is good so as cabbage...all with grated coconut.. Pl avoid all root tubers..as it has very good amount of starch in it which gets released on boiling.
