@@gabe9646the reason most people like TBC was because in vanilla you felt fairly weak. Warriors and mages did high damage but had low survivability, priests and shamans and druids had high survive but would sacrifice their ability to do basically any DPS, for example. In TBC we saw buffs to healers DPS and added/buffed survivability to classes that didn’t already have any. Along with those things it was still easy and slow. Yes, TBC and vanilla were easy. Leveling was easy, just slow. Dungeons were easy, just slow. Raids were easy, again, just slow. There were hardly any mechanics that people needed to actually pay attention to in any aspect of the game. It was a time where whoever did the most damage the fastest won a PvP battle. People didn’t like wrath and prefer tbc and can’t explain why because it’s harder. Dungeons and raids finally had actual mechanics, PvP combat was different in that skill supersedes class/gear to an extent, gold was easier to make. People hated cataclysm for the same reasons except, realistically, cataclysm was by far the most balanced we’ve ever seen the world… of Warcraft. Just like what’s noted in the video, every class was viable in cataclysm, at least one spec was more than playable the entire expansion. Every class had something they excelled at, raids were hard, leveling was fun because there was an actual challenge in most cases. Yes, exp gains were increased, yes there were quality of life additions like an in game quest helper, but tell me you didn’t use questie in classic and tbc, almost 100% of people used either questie or an in game leveling guide… Long story short, TBC was slow paced and easy, the last time that was wow slow paced and easy. Where most things were a mind numbing grind. That’s why rep tabards were included in wrath, get rid of the mindless grinds because it’s a waste of everyone’s time.

I played every expansion except Pandaria, so I can say TBC is by far the best experience, very well put together expansion

I actually loved Cata when it was out. And the fact that the loot is the same across 10/25 is great for me since I’m in a small guide that has trouble getting 25 people consistently.

I didn't play cata. My small guild did our first ICC 10 last night. It took us a few weeks to get enough people and gear them out in order to just step through the door. I was just thinking last night that it's a shame that 10/25 loot is so different as I don't see us ever organizing a 25.

@@calebsmith1926 As someone that's in a guild that did ICC 25m HC Lich King before nerfs I'd much rather play 10m if I had the chance. Sure, 25m is harder content but it's also less fun and you have more unreliable people as opposed to 10m. I can't wait to do 10m in Cataclysm especially as it's of equal or harder difficulty to 25m and has the same gear. 10m is where I've had the most fun personally.

@@icebox1954 I have way more fun in our 10m group than the few times we have been able to get 25 guildies on for a full raid. We got a real close knit raid group and we all have a blast on raid nights. In 10 everyone has to pull their weight, in most 25 content you can make up for a couple slackers but the margins in 10 are so small everyone has to be on their shit. We got everything but Litch King down on heroic but usually only had enough time for one solid raid night a week so we didn’t get a whole lot of looks at Heroic LK.

@@rizzorizzo2311 10m HC LK is apparently pretty easy compared to 25m HC. My guild did LK 25m HC before player buffs but it was barely done and in that fight even a few people slacking can wipe the whole raid so some 25m is definitely much more difficult than 10m. In WoTLK 10m is easy mode but that won't be true in Cata where it's usually harder than 25m due to less combat rez and interrupts etc.

I'd rate Cata and MoP as the best expansions!!! Not only the classes were balanced, but you could also farm old content solo. Can't wait for the prepatch!

with worgen you forgot to mention that dark flight (their sprint) stacks ontop of other movement speed stuff (if i recall) so if you're a druid and you dash, you can gain more speed from dark flight ontop of it (so macro'ing them together is worth)

One thing I hope Blizzard look to address is servers. Server merges need to happen to maintain a healthy feel to the game. The server I currently play on is really quiet and with Cata being so polarising, I can see many people quitting (unfortunately). Still very excited for Cata, just hope enough people are also.

I'm in the pro-Cata camp as well. Firelands is one of the best raids ever in my opinion.

I am hyped for Cataclysm Classic. Thank you for these videos. I am looking forward to Cataclysm pre-patch, because I will start some of the new leveling early from level 1 to get ahead of the curve and start collecting some of those good transmogs 😁

Cata is the sweet spot for me. Not classic and not retail. I love rbgs and hunter feels so much better

I totally agree, i actually think its closer to vanilla than WOTLK is which is why i don't get why people hate on it lol. Back in eastern kingdoms, old dungeons remade as heroics etc. Sure the world is a bit different and so are the quests but to me it's all positive.

Its quite stupid when people point at population numbers when the 2004 version of the game carried the games hype years and Blizzard probably did their best promotional content for Wrath.

Easiest fix for Cash Flow, make it personal guild rep dependent. 0% from ppl with neutral, 1% with friendly, 2% with honored, 3% with revered and 5% with exalted. Double it for rank 2 but always keep neutral at 0%. Also stop teasing with your class videos and drop them already! :D

Really looking forward for Cata. Also I'm excited for your 50 changes to the specific classes (espacially the DK).

I'm actually looking forward to cata I don't care what anyone says it just seems to be a popular thing to hate cata its a joke. Cata was fantastic. pvp gear was still relative and looked good pvp was good it wasn't classic spam frostbolt but it's not DF having a million keybinds it had the perfect balance and development on all specs. I never did pve but since sod and classic in 2019 I am happy to give raids a go this time round so yes looking forward to it

Cata is a very underrated expansion. The endgame dungeons and raids was amazing.

underwater zone is the BEST and you can walk fast in the water !!!

I'm really excited for cata cause I working on my undergrad degree so it was really hard to fit in wow at the time. Its the only raid tier that I have really regretted not doing even though I was playing a bit at the time. I'm excited to actually raid during cataclysm.

Quick question Scott since u are playing PTR, have they applied retail graphics updates to cata classic?

I can’t remember was open spec (free switching between any of your specs) in Cata or not until MoP?

I've never understood the hate for Cataclysm. I loved the dungeons, raids and PvP. Zones like Deepholm and others were super nice. Even kinda liked Tol Barad. I would put it in the same tier as Wotlk

Never got to raid in cata and now I’m with a solid crew of people we did LK befor the buff all close friends now so it’s gunna be a blast to experience it with all of them

Im quite not sure but was cata already the addon where 25 and 10 man IDs are shared together? Or can you visit 25 man and 10 man raids once each per ID?

I loved playing Enhancement Shaman for some reason, you were not OP or anything but it just felt good. MM+SV Hunter were amazing too and I should not forget about Boomkin and Spriest!

I play boomie druid and elemental shaman in wrath but am thinking of switching to hunter or fire mage i have hierloom gear for mage what should i pick

reason 1: Cata is literally better than Wrath in every single aspect minus the last raid, that's it.

True. Cata is my favorite exp. Wotlk is one of my least favorite expansion except for ICC. But now that I did LoD again, I don't think ICC is that good of a raid anymore... Besides LK himself, most fights I HATE and they are tedious. Like, Cindy HC, Valithria (am a healer main but i have dps chars too), Gunship, Saurfang, Queen are literally just shit fights. I am someone who enjoys Council just because it is at least somewhat mechanically interesting fight. The rest are ok, including LK. Now for cata... That is a whole different story. Tier 11 I love everything pretty much. The new council is one of my most fun fights, Onyxia/Nef, Chogall, Atramedes, even Chimaeron (cause as a healer, you have windows for MASSIVE healing when you stack but generally play the fight entirely differently). It's just all good.

And even then, i feel like DS was perfectly fine EXCEPT the last 2 bosses. Not the best final raid of an xpac but it really wasn't awful

For me the selling point is not having to pve to play pvp. I have few alts that I would like play some pvp but I can't because some pve trinktes way too are overpowered. Moreover ilvl 277 weapons are way easier to get from raids especially with 15% buff, not to mention the welfaremourne axe.

Maybe if Scotte keeps telling me I'm excited for Cata I'll eventually believe it

Cata has great raids/dungeons, solid class changes, fun quest/leveling updates, amazing new zones and zone revamps. The only thing I disliked about cata was the length of the final patch.

My first expansion. God I sunk countless hours into this. Got the achievement for getting burned to death by Deathwing. I did it all. 31 now, was 18 then. Gods I was strong

Great video! I played og wrath, cata and onward. Cata i started raiding seriously and our guild was #1 on Shandris US! Loved cata classes and raids. Cata had really good pvp also. Tol Barad, and Rated battlegrounds were awesome!

Cata is up there for me cause it was my 1st xpac starting from the begining. I started playing Wow in Og wrath at TOGC and was 16. Also alot of the classes feel really good . Loving my shaman and hunter feels so good with focus finally. Might be my favorite version of hunter. Also sad they didnt give us the pre patch event i remember it being so fun.

do you know if our guilds carry over to cata or are they disbanded at the end of wotlk?

I have never raided, just some dungeons for quests. I like the outdoors, solo questing, exploring, i love flying of course and Cataclysm it's the BEST PvE expansion.

Cata is a great opportunity for younger players to have fun and not grind weapon skills etc ... and i think cata is better in many ways ive seen so far in classic. Im looking forward to the changes for sure. Cata hype

is the gathering node also shareable to all player like in retail?

All of these are great additions to the game imo. Guild leveling system in particular I am not even sure why they removed it later on in retail. Maybe it made it so its even harder to start guilds or something. But being in a guild earning all those perks and heirlooms and stuff was pretty fun. I would add transmog to the list as well. Just added so much content that you could do in the game that gets expanded whenever they add new sets in future raids. And you are also not doomed to look like a clown just because your bis list says so.

Do all 5 people in the group need to be I'm the guild? Or can I and one or two other guildies run random dungeons with two other ransoms and still get guild xp?

On the server I was playing on it was as long as the majority of the players were in the same guild so 3 minimum. I'm pretty sure, could've been 4 but it shouldn't require a full group

I thought in cata they added alliance quests to RFC, SFK and horde quests to DM, and Stocks

No one's actually telling you not to, it's just asmongler fans desperately praying for the game to fail. Don't fall for it - the numbers don't lie, as even in its biggest post-holiday lull yet, WOTLK has more active raiders weekly than classic era and garbage retail combined. Go tell asmon to collect some pets.

Cash flow can be fixed in a simple way, make it 50% extra gold drop but only from NPCs killed inside max level raids with your guild. problem fixed - guild reparis on and the classic gold farmers will not benefit from it because they are too "potato" to farm max level raids anyways.

Does anyone know will that lvl 80 boost you get from the bundle work on worgen/goblins when we get this awesome xpac back :D

Uhm, I think you should be able to because I'm pretty sure people are going to buy race changes to play as them .

tbh even small guilds didnt have a problem to get the daily guild exp done. we were a 10 man raid guild back then with maybe 20 people in it and we got no problem to get it done. at the point when everyone is done with the main equipping and leveling and gearing their alts they are playing the guild is pretty much level 25

For me it is the "with changes" that they stated at blizz con that has me looking forward to cata, I'm hoping that the scaled up classic raids they asked about in the cata survey make it in as one of the changes

@@NICO-mr4ll Old raids that gets the levels increased so that they'll be relevant in current expansion including loot I assume. This would fix content droughts and have some variety from week to week. Private servers do this a lot and people generally like it too.

Excited for the first wave of levelling, guild changes, first tier of Raids and Firelands. Interested in seeing how previous issues from original release play out. Like most people through Cata, I've some great memories (raiding) and some bad memories (friends quitting WoW). Will certainly be there for launch!

I just want to see if they're going to make class adjustments like they did in Wrath. There is a massive rift between the worst DPS and the best DPS, to the point where meta classes being required will be worse than ever especially with the same gear dropping in ten man as 25 man.

Cataclysm was my classic! My first time hitting max level, first time doing a raid

Ive been playing on a private server and let me tell you, there is not a single bad or unfun class in the game. I have had so much fun leveling every character to see what i wanted to main when it comes out on classic and damnit i love every class so much i dont know what to pick 😭

I also played all classes in a private server and I agree all classes are fun to play in cata except maybe Shadow Pr which for me is a bit boeing esp in PVP.. In PVE it is decent..

I actually started playing during cataclysm. Makes me feel some type of way. Hoping it beings back the rp community too

We downsized our guild after Ulduar because of the lack of reliability in our raiders. We ended up with 10 really strong dedicated friends who are all looking forward to 10m raiding and doing away with all the wasted time that comes with 25m raiding.

All I can say is come Cataclysm is that finally I get my dark spear troll druid I love the feral cat forms I can't wait for that to hit.

I’m one of the few players that only raids to get gear for pvp - pvp rated or world pvp is the only reason I play - wrath and all other future expansion, the world dies fast and players just raid log. I planned to play cata but now I’m just gonna stick to SoD

I'm totally playing Cata. I couldn't care less about SoD, so thanks for the updates!

I am not sure if I will like Cataclysm, I am split. Let me explain why. I play both Retail and Classic although Classic is what I have been playing more recently. What have I been playing in Classic? SOD. Because it introduces new spells and mechanics, some of which come from later expansions (even though modified). I am not a "purist" Era player, I am definitely on team "some changes". I also keep saying, "I wish Classic looked more like modern stuff, there are private servers that allow Cata models, for example". I enjoy both new and old WOW for different reasons: Classic when I want to level and chill, Retail when I want something competitive. Cata I feel is somewhere in between, with challenging heroics which I feel I might rather enjoy again. But for whatever reason I did not enjoy the raiding, it's when I quit, even though I finished the first raid tier back then. But, I also liked the modernisation of levelling in Cata, with new quest types, their new story lines etc. Will I like the fact that it's basically trivial in Cata, which is what I don't like in Retail? Perhaps Cata is that expansion that sits right in between Retail and Classic and I might enjoy it a lot because of that. Or, I might just go, "Oh this doesn't have 'so and so'" from either eras and hate it more. With me having abandoned raiding for personal reasons, is Cata's focus on the end came too much for me? Like I said, I am just split. But I will definitely try it again.

Completely valid concern tbh. I know if people give it a shot they will like launch and phase 1, but even for me personally i find it quite boring after that. I am far more excited at the prospect of getting MoP than i am Cata actually but thats because i really like gold challenge modes and ofc the best class in the game...the monk :D

Cata is fantastic for many reasons. The class balance was very well done, the raids and talents were fun. But its also when Azeroth changed and became retail. Cata is closer to retail than it is to classic. I hate hate hate transmog and I hate the new Azeroth. I love the class changes but I just think if you are playing Cata, you might as well play retail.

For God's sake blizz, please fix the platforms on BWD!!!! Died so many times due to not being able to get out of the lava.

I think for me the biggest thing hanging over cata for me is it wont have wrath prot pally, i love prot the way it is right now SO MUCH. 969 and busted ardent defender is so satisfying im going to be so sad when its reworked

But cata prot pally is absolutely amazing. I mained pally all through the original wrath and cata and I prefer cata prot.

Wrath Prot paladin truly was amazing, a king of kings. Definitely gonna miss it but it will be nice to change gameplay up and also some more tank diversity, as, let's be honest, literally every other tank paled in comparison to prot pally.

Im glad many players dont consider cata as "tRuE cLaSsIc" so Blizzard will actually have the balls to make real changes. SoD has disappointed me because its essentially just a few new class quests and unthoughtfully-pasted shiny spells

Gonna be fun watching the playerbase plummet once again in Cata..cant grasp how people that wanted to play classic wants this when its the very start of the retail we wanted to get away from..

When classic vanilla transitions to TBC classic then wotlk classic nobody bats an eye Where else do you expect the game to progress? Go back to SOD/Hardcore & stay there.

Cata is when i first started playing. The nostalgia of classic has been nice but not 100 percent nostalgic for me. Cata will be perfect

Im super excited for cata and can’t wait to play my DK throughout all the phases. Kind of hoping for a new realm on EU but probably won’t happen due to what happened to the new realms for wotlk. Really hoping for an era realm for wotlk aswell.

Shit why not try it? I didn’t quit in Cata cuz I wasn’t having fun, I quit because it was just a time in my life where I didn’t want to play wow. I’ll give classic Cata a try.

I'm already counting the days until the cataclysm arrives on the official servers. For the last few years I’ve been playing wotlk on private servers, and I’ve been playing it on the official server for over a year now and I’m already tired of it. I hope that I will never again have a reason to go to private servers and previous expansions. Only forward!

I’m loving SoD, but honestly can’t figure out why you’re a classic player when considering all these things you like about Cataclysm.

Because they're literally classic things? None of these things are even remotely retail-like. Why do you "love" sod if it was retail abilities in it by your logic? WOTLK is classic, TBC was classic, and cata is classic, hence "cata classic".

Looking forward to Cata and MOP to underrated and legendary expacs.
