Overall though, I am Not saying these expansions are Bad Games. because it lacks these. Nor am I saying these Factions will improve the game. But they could have been interesting. : )

For the Romano-British event: it could be interesting for a Romano-Gaul faction to appear in Gaul when Gaul falls to the barbarians. They could represent Syagrius, a Roman General who reigned for some years after the fall of Rome itself.

How to play Alans - Yrriddan (?)

It's a shame there are no Romano-Gauls or Romano-Illyrians popping out when Rome loses those regions as the last Western Roman stronghold to fall in the west was located in Gaul. I personally had a blast playing as them on The Last Emperor. And for Barbarian invasion i would have added Armenia or some Caucasian realm

@@Jakromha yeah they were a Satrapy(or a client state, can't recall), same for Lazica which was a client state of Constantinople. But another Easter faction would have added a little more of variety to that part of the map IMO.

For bi, I recommend the invasio barbarorum mod. It adds new factions such as the Armenians, the Lakhamid Arabs and the white huns.

100% agree with the White Huns - Sassanid campaign is SUPER easy. Weren't the Sarmatians supposed to represent the Alans in Barbarian Invasion?

Barbarian Invasion map should be larger Factions missing in Barbarian Invasion. White Huns Kidarites (Red Huns): Pretty much what if you get to play as Huns who have settled down. Gupta Empire: Would have required having the map expanded far to the east to include Transoxiana, Altani Mountians, Tarmi Basin, and the Indian Sub Continent. This can serve as another interesting challenge for the Sasanians. Askum: Would have required the map to be expanded in the south to include the rest of the Arabian Penisular, Ethopian Mountians and the Horn of Africa. A sub Saharan African faction located to the south of Egypt. Another gameplay challange for Eastern Roman Empire

I would actually really like to see the Ostrogoths and the Slavs, Burgundi, Lombardi, Alemanni or Roxolani be replaced with the Ghassanids and White Huns.

Sparta should definitely be a faction in a new Alexander campaign. They were never conquered by Macedon, and bore a bitter grudge to their overlords. It would be interesting to re-ignite the feeling of the Peloponnesian War in which Sparta allied with Persia, albeit on an even more epic scale

Alexander should have Dahae, Saka, Epirus, Sparta, Cyprus, and Getae. Also events where independent regions break off like romano British with Armenia, Bactria, Sogdiana, and Cappadocia being able to break off from Persia to survive Persia’s conquest as Armenia and Cappadocia survived the end of the Persian empire.

4:34 there was a historical backing to other splinter Roman assimilated areas. Gallic empire, and the Soissons domain seem like good historical examples of similar events imo edit: Mars Ultor basically already said this

The Mod Nation,Empire,War, takes care of the Barbarian Invasion factions it's a new mod and very good imho.

In RTW Alexander the Indian region is shown as such because at the time of the campaign that region was, in fact, a Persian satrap, although in the Indian subcontinent (modern-day Afghanistan and Pakistan). Alexander's campaigns against "India" were not primarily against the faction represented as the Indian faction serves as a placeholder for what in fact be more influenced by Perisa (for example Arachosia in RTW 2)

That sounds like an excuse for rushing a game out without properly finishing the campaign. It's clear that there was no historical reason as why else would Persia own Arabia? The whole campaign of Alexander is a mess both in it's badly drawn map and the fact important factions like India are no where to be seen but were suppose to be as why else would they make the most eastern province that makes sense for them to be in be untouchable?

You forgot the melkorian faction 😥. This faction is missing in every total war game...

I dont agree. You simply want to add factions that are already present in other TW games. There must be place for Frisians, since that germanic tribe from modern Netherlands built separate kingdom in early middle ages and resisted frankish expansion for some time. So, if there are burgundians, alemans etc, then there must be frisians too. But they never got attention from CA-neither in BI, nor in Attila, even though they were one of the 4 main germanic tribes that settled in CA homeland-Britain :D Also, Alans and Sarmatians are the same people.

What was the reason India wasn't on the campaign map in Alexander Total War? Did they just give up due to time constraints?

Its because the areas taken by Alexander post-Persia (Hydaspes river versus King Poros for example) were fought against Persian satraps, so actually at the start of the game they were Persian owned territories.

@@Dogpilot_NordKS No the Greeks really did think it was the edge of the world, but Alexander crossed it to prove them wrong, the only reason he stopped pushing his because his troops threatened to desert the army .

@@theopinionator7196 That's bullshit. Persia owns Arabia which is historically wrong so that "Persian Satraps" argument does not hold water. It's clear the campaign was rushed and India was suppose to be in there.

If you want that just play Standard Rome Total War, you have Macedon, The Seleucids, Egypt......(If you want it to be super accurate, get a mod that makes Egypt into a Hellenistic faction, but still with some Egyptian stuff like camels and chariots)

The mod Nation, Empire, War covers the Barbarian Invasion factions well it's a new mod.

i can't find Rome:barabarian Invasion on steam. Obviously they don't have it.... So, is there a mod solving this problem?

It comes with Rome Total War Steam for free. Click play Rome Total War from Steam and it should come up with an option to play barbarain invasion.

Armenian territory is controlled by the Sassanids in BI, hence I assume Melkor could not choose to add them due to his own rules

You get it free when you buy Rome 1. To access it, you have load up Rome 1 from steam (hit play in stream) and it should open up an option to play barbarian Invasion.

The Suebians aren't in the game and the Lombardi and Burgundii became powerful in their own right (Burgundii became Burgundy, Lombardi became Lombardy) while the Suebians migrated to Iberia and weren't as successful.

The Suevi definitely should be represented better. I think the only reference to them is s lone barbarian settlement.

The campaign was an annoying rush that had zero replayability that was clearly cut due to certain factions not being in there and the crappy 100 turn limit meant you could not take any time pacifying your regions that did not involve exterminating them all and the map looking like crap. The only things worthwhile about that expansion was the historical battles and the narration of Brian Blessed.
