    watching your videos on dipping, spray gun selection, spray gun settings and hydrofilm differentiation helped me set my gun/activator to my hydrofilm. Thanks Brian (I used a 1.5g at 44+psi, cheap gun at 1.4 midsize fan spray. got a 8g,5cfm 150psi doing larger truck parts. Thanks brian.

    Sooo I have a quick question, I recently spray painted some Oakley frames and wasn’t too happy with the result. If I primed, spray painted and clear coated the frames could I jump right into the dipping process or would I have to re-prime and start from there?

    Watching these video's helps, but I keep going from under to over activation. I think maybe I need to change spray guns out. How big should the tip be for a spray gun for just using activator? I managed to get everything else right, I've been taping all four sides of the film and its been working, I've been getting the spraying for primer and paint down correctly, I can even do rolling dips on firearm stocks just fine. My issue is that I've been having severe issues with activator. I've tried the activator cans but the same thing happens. I've never gotten it "just right". It either ends up under activated with jagged holes in the pattern, or it looks super faded with parts of it sliding off and having smooth pin holes in it. Thanks for the content though, it helped me set everything up and do all the other stuff right, just not the activation part. I just keep messing it up.

    I just dipped a small gun part. Had cleaned it, scuffed it and primed it 2 days ago. My test was good but when I dipped the part, it looked great when I pulled it out of the water but when I rinsed it off, not only did the pattern come off, the primer did too. The part had a camo pattern but I cleaned it and scuff it and thought priming it would be ok.... do you know where I went wrong? I don't want to dip the rest of the parts til I find out why this happened. I'm new at this but I've done several pieces and this is the first time this happened.

And upon washing off the goo it came right off from me rubbing.I didnt do the reg steps(priming,sanding ,applying a promoter,) wanted to see if it was possible. Thanx and love your content.

    The black & white speed shapes are ready to dip. These speed shapes are made of a durable ABS plastic resin for strength and also adds a great benefit that you can actually dip directly to these with no paint or primer needed. Hope this helps.

  • @LiquidConceptsUSA

    @LiquidConceptsUSA

    2 жыл бұрын

    Every film is going to be different and react differently. Normally you do not have to use tape but there are times that tape does make it easier to get the film in the water and contain the film if you do not have dams. Since we have a good divider system we normally only tape 2 sides on the difficult films.

    I was gonna dip a rifle stock. Aplain black synthetic, cheap rifle stock, never plan on selling, wanted to dip it camo, now I’m not so sure. Sand, buff, polish, pearls... no. Have paint, primer, tub for appropriate temp water, and rinse area and the willingness to try. Also picked up a can of clear coat just in case. Felt fairly confident in the project until now. Oh well.

    Man I like the videos, but I have a short attention span and you ramble on too much. that could have been a 5min video, or you could have added a little example video clips of the things your pointing out. you say prepping is the most important thing , how about a little prep before you make a video, like turn off the phone ringer, or maybe a little editing ..
