Hi Samantha, I had a full knee replacement done on May 1, 2024. My flexion is 124 degrees if I push it. If I sit, then get up, I'm stiff for a few steps. Also, up and down steps hurts. I've seen your videos about steps. I realize this is normal. I'm just waiting for that day when it's easier. Thank you for all your great information and instructions. Greatly appreciated! Jim

Thanks for these videos. Having TKR this coming Thursday, biked 18 miles this morning, usually bike 60-80 miles a week but I have been off due to covid since the first week of May. Finally feeling decent enough to ride but now i am out of time. I appreciate your support and suggestions and yes I have joined the F/B group.

I am now 1-1/2 years PO and I wished I had found you BEFORE my surgery. I did presurgery exercises, my PT etc, had a great support system however I thought I had done my homework and educated myself but your blogs, videos have provided so much more valuable information. This is NOT a surgery to go into lightly. It took me the full year to recover and have the nerves finally wake up on the outside of my leg. Working on quad strength was my toughest challenge. I have no regrets with regards to the surgery....however should I need the other knee replaced I will DEFINITELY be enrolling in your courses. I have found you invaluable. When I was really down emotionally it was fellow TKR friends who I could talk to on the phone and who advised me I was "normal" and this too shall pass. I am also on the FB group and continue to post to remind folks we all heal differently. Thank you for all you do for all of us in need!

Do you have any advice on avoiding acute (new) PJI years post surgery.?

Btw you can’t do that pre op strengthening if you have been sedentary with PJI protocol. (2 surgeries 3 months apart with antibiotics for 6 weeks)

Hi Samantha ! I am now 9 and a half mths post TKR ! I have spoken to you at different stages in my recovery and you advice has helped a lot ! At present there has been good progress but I still have tightness above and below the patella which is restricting at times and after a good walk I have some pain ! However it is bearable but causes a lot of frustration as my range of movement in general is good it bends to 130° + and no problem with straightening the knee ! Can you suggest anything to get rid of this tightness ! Thanks

Hi, I’m 6 months post op and have the same issue. My flexion and extension is good but every time I do something physical like the videos, walking, or especially standing I feel like I have a tight band under and at my patella. My doctor said I’m on course but I still feel regular pain. I guess I had a lot of decay at the femur and patella, but he didn’t replace my patella. I was told I cannot kneel and to avoid some of the activities I thought I could return to doing post op. Do you know if your patella was replaced?

Hi Dr Sam. I am into my 5th month post surgery; am discharged by my PT after 3 mths. Must I continue to do exercise n for how long? I still have stiffness around my knee occasionally. Would u recommend I buy a rowing machine instead of a simple leg exercise equipment?

Usually the exercises help if you keep up with them! I have an exercise class. Check it out here: www.succeedcourses.com/Exercise-class
